WOW!!

I too up-dated to a Harley got GPS, CD player, XM Satellite Radio, ABS Brakes and .......oh did I mention its an 2008 model. Also I almost forgot it came fuel injected with hydraulic lifters. I still like reading and working on Yamaha's, that's why I'm still hanging around.
4. Also take a mirror and a bright light LED type and give that gas tank a good inspection for insurance. May or may not be rust particles getting in those carbs.
5. Don, wishing the best to You and Eileen. Anymore Harley's are pretty boring bikes no carb. issues or funny noises coming from the transmission just ride and change oil occasionally. Maintenance Days are a thing of the past. WildBill
6. Last time I checked they was there and tight.
7. I built this from a 99 Venture a couple years ago. The owner is a member here goes by FoyerBoy. It was a labor of love.
8. Perfect platform for a fast Cafe' Bike. The black and gold trim one reminds me of my 71 Kaw. 500 triple. Would do close too 140mph. with Bill Wergees expansion chambers installed. In the seventies if you wanted a fast Croch Rocket you built a Cafe' Bike.
9. Its all detailed in the Yamaha Service Manuel, but I wouldn't be too overly concerned about them if you have changed oil regularly and used good quality oil. Yamaha Cam Chains are much longer and ride against a much longer tensioner or bearing surface.
10. The Royal Star Venture has (4) spring loaded tensioners and (4) rubber steel laminated chain rails the cam chain rides against.
11. Looks like its holding its own OK. Maybe this was food for thought for Harley.
12. Yes I checked the inner by means of a LED light and a Dental Mirror rather pulling the cam plate.
13. Also, failed to mention the pictures are taken from a 08 Harley CVO Ultra.
14. Not a good Day here in the South for riding, so maintenance is on the agenda. After 30,000 miles I decided to take a look at my chain tensioners..... was I pleasantly surprised!!! I traded for this CVO Ultra a couple months ago. Previous owner always used Harley Syn-3 oil from day one and yes I will too. Unless You'All see something I'm missing it will probably be at least another 60k before I look again. This is the third Harley I've had the Timing Chain cover off. The other two had slight ware with the spring loaded type tensioners but still not excessive. They don't make them like they use-too aren't some of glad.
15. In case you havn't found out by now, 2nd Gen. bikes only take so much verbal abuse before they tend to get even. Must be Carma, just keep the Seafoam handy and turn the Radio up little to drown out any odd sounds from below.
16. From an, "X Ground Pounder", I'm with you "Fly Boy", fortify the borders.
17. Just when I had the gauge installation down pat.

19. Its a 6mm x 1mm pitch x 16mm Lg. flat head machine screw.
20. NRA Commemorative Bike for 2014.
21. Good deal get him started off right!!!!!!!!!!!!!
22. Does anybody want too buy a nice Harley, just my 2cents ?
23. Hey how much rust is on Brown sugar out sight and out mind? Harley has the best quality of chrome on any bike I've ever owned bar none.
24. Brackets cost a $100.00, Kuryakyn Transformers $240.00 and wife not complaining on long rides priceless.
25. I also think a carb. sync is the road to recovery to his problem with popping. Then and only then would I look at re-jetting or swapping jets around or between carbs. Need Mfg. spec. for installed jets on each carb. too verify that they are indeed installed properly.
