  1. Did the Harley ever make it out of the dealer yet? Just curious......
  2. Big Jugs equal Lots of Fun.
  3. Take a small dia. wire I insert it in the hole and see if it goes into the swing arm.
  4. It's not a grease zerk, it's a vent. I also have one on my Harley transmission. No lube required.
  5. I got a set of Harley mufflers and clamps on here for $30.00 if you pick them up. Check it out under the classifieds.
  6. My Carrier has a float switch on the condinsate line. At extreme cold temps line freezes gas shuts off initor doesn't Fire dead in water so to speak.
  7. Before you go to the dealer contact this fellow for your cam plate conversion parts. I did and he saved me 50% in parts cost. Tell him I sent you his name is, BaggerJoe text or call (414) 315-7475. WildBill,
  8. Great find there and even better at what you paid. I also had an 03 Ultra, but mine was solid black. The 88cid engine is a tough motor it actually has bearings in the cam plate where as the later engines only have inner needle bearings for the cams. Later engines cams run on an oil film on the out board cam plate which is aluminum. Just be mind full of the spring loaded cam chain tensioners and replace them when needed.
  9. Yea, I use to get a lot of attention from the Harley crowd never seen one them try it though.
  10. Don't Hold Back Let It All Out Boss, this why we pay you the big bucks too put up with nuts like me and the others. Oh by the way great job and 1000 AT- Boys your way.
  11. About seven years ago I had a 99 1500cc Victory no cat. stock exhaust a bundle of torque weighted between 600 and 700 pounds. This bike was the coolest running air cooled engine I ever owned. You could run it hard all day come home park it then lay your hand on the side of the rear cylinder without getting burned. Think I would do this with my Harley, not in this life. Reason being on the Victory it had an enormous oil cooler also they designed the engine with cylinder cooling oil channels. Indian also has incorporated this feature in their engine.
  12. I been having trouble since this bitter cold temps. with the condensate line freezing up lately on my gas furnace. When this happens no ignition or gas flow. Just something else to cross off your trouble shooting list.
  13. Torque is relative too displacement in a Harley, that being said there is no replacement for displacement in a twin cam Harley.
  14. I don't have true duel on my 08 Harley either but I had the on a 03 Harley Ultra and they helped quite a lot. I'm actually running a 2010 single exhaust wrapped headers on my 08 Harley for torque purposes.
  15. To get an air cooled Harley engine to run as cool as a water cooled Venture is an impossible task. These tips were just to offer suggestions to cool it down a bit and save the engine. As far as the Indian running cooler the jury is still out on the Chieftian I just traded on. Let you know latter.
  16. I know I'm leaving my self and my fellow Harley owners on here hanging out a bit with such a title as, "Harley In Heat" but here are some tips that's worked for me. Right now heat or any heat is a welcome option on any bike with the temps. plunging. Just wait till next summer when its 90 plus and your co-rider has enough of your two wheel rolling oven. There are things you can do now to avoid heat short of trading your Harley: Change exhaust to more free flowing. Change headers too true duel type where as each cylinder has its own header pipe. Wrap headers with heat wrap for insulation. You can still use chrome heat shields over heat wrap. Change air box to more free-flowing one. Remove Cat. converter by all means. Calif. too bad. By all means if fuel injected which all are now, remap injectors. The last item is probably the most important item on the list. Harley's come running way too lean from the factory. By remapping and riching up the fuel mixture cools these engines a lot. One other is install a high volume oil pump too give much needed more oil supply to the valve train and rocker-boxes. Ok I'm thick-skinned enough, " Let Her Rip Potato Chip......
  17. Before we got a PM warning that our ad was running out and need to be relisted or it would be canceled. I've had two canceled just lately relisted one and in the process of relisting my Harley slip on mufflers again.
  18. Well, now you can tell she has great taste. I do believe that's a Kimber .45 hanging on her waist.
  19. Hey guys don't get me wrong I hope I'm not coming across as a die hard Harley owner. The Yamaha Venture 06 Midnight Special was one of my favorite bikes. Engine design is superior to the V twin Harley. Frame design of the Harley and handling characteristics are in my opinion years ahead of the Venture. I spent a lot of time and money on my Venture to match the ride of the Harley Ultra. Also, I've spend approx. $600.00 in preventive maintence on the Harley 110cu SE engine the last two weeks to avoid a break down in the future. To mention billet cam plate, high volume oil pump, heavy duty inner cam bearings, SS premium lifters and SS adjustable pushrods these are items that should have been stock on a CVO bike, believe my dealer was informed with my thoughts on this mater. This is why I went Indian when I traded the 09 CVO Harley Dyna. '
  20. Thanks guys, waiting for better weather so I can rider her.
  21. Ok here we go again Moderator!!!!!!!
  22. Well at least you can go in and still buy a new 2015 Harley. Where can you buy a new 2015 Yamaha Venture? I must say my Indian Chieftian is a lot more comfortable than the Harley FatBob Dyna that I traded this past Wednesday. The 15,000 trade in value for the Harley wasn't bad though.
  23. Same bike, you need to keep all them grimliens out while you there.
  24. Hey, I enjoy working on Yamaha's too.
  25. Also changed light weight cam bearings to B168 heavy duty type.
