  1. Put a drop or two of red loctite on the inside of the clamp next to the crash bar then clamp it. Let set a couple hours see if it moves then. Just don't get carried away with the amount of loctite use it will destroy ABS plastic.
  2. My old 71 Triumph Booniville 650 had the oil reservoir in the backbone frame member. Don't remember heat being to much of a concern kept in the wind most of the time anyway.
  3. The Victory engine has been oil cooled and air cooled since 99. It had that oil jacket surrounding the cylinder. Polaris dropped the wrong bike and kept that rattle trap Indian that heats ups and sounds like the lifters have been tossed in a gallon paint can.
  4. Once had a 91 GoldWing with Markland floor boards installed that while riding thru the twisties would drag and fold up trapping my foot between the board and cylinder jugs. Found out pretty quick there is both man and machine limitations too deal with.
  5. Thinking about trading my Honda VTX 1800 on an 05 Harley SuperGlide with 32k miles on it. Just giving up a lot of hair raising torque that I'll miss.
  6. My mistake I thought you did your review after the unveiling event not before.
  7. You got it but I think you have had Tweekes out quite abit since the tire review though. In the review picture there was a much wider Chicken Stripe.
  8. I whole heartedly agree one does not constitute a trained Militia.
  9. I see your chicken strip pretty well matches mine. I guess age has something to do with that width and of course riding two up more in later years.
  10. Don't get me wrong on this I also have my ccw permit too but I'm a firm believer in gun control. Being a former Army trained soldier as a reconnaissance commando (Recondo) i feel that I've earned the privilege to own a AR-15 which I do. I believe the sell of these weapons to the general public should cease. Irresponsible people are buying and obtaining these weapons with no idea of the potential destruction they have.
  11. Another Idiot with a gun I'm glad they shot the SOB. Guns are weapons for responsible citizens or soldiers not lunatic's.
  12. That makes it just about bullet proof.
  13. Honda has had several versions of V twins that flat water cooled 6 started as a flat 4 racing engine for Honda. If you want a smooth riding almost trouble free bike buy a Goldwing.
  14. Yes, Puc the HD Screaming Eagle cat. Does all the homework for you cam wise. I also use the S&S cat. Too but they are hard to find anymore. I like the S&S lifters and quickie adjustable pushrods better than what Harley has. I think the easystart cams S&S has is much better than compression releases. I could go on and on but this is a Yamaha forum. Harley is a canvas too work with it's up to you to make a masterpiece.
  15. Well if the 96 won't do the job I'll jump on the slightly modified 110 Ultra and look for him. Anyway it will be fun and enlightening.
  16. Yea, I can't wait to pull up beside one and see how it hangs with me.
  17. Nothing, more power to the rear wheel. No lost power thru gears. Wish I had a belt drive on my Honda VTX.
  18. "God Speed Cowpuc", come back and tell us all about the ralley.
  19. I wouldn't use any of that, "Witch Oil stuff," could be full of hants and grilimins. Use Rotella 15-40 works good in Yamahas.
  20. Rightie tightie but not too tightie......
  21. Drill out and replace with socket head cap screws. I think they are 8-1.25 pitch. .
  22. WildBill1

    rear tire

Michelin Commander II little harder compound than Dunlop E-3 and last longer. With that said I run the softer E-3 on the front for carving thru the twisties good combination for me.
  23. Still say it's a Tricycle with reverse that's my story and I'm sticking with it.
  24. She looks relaxed and at ease on her Harley.
  25. Oh that's definitely a Yamaha stain it's not dark enough to be a Harley stain.
