irratic temperature indication 88 VR
IH Truck Guy replied to bikerjohn51's topic in GPS, Audio, Electronics
Make sure the wire connector on the end of the sensor is clean and tight. My temp was erratic too and fixing this wire took care of the problem for me... -
See Scott,I told you that Plastex should be paying you and using you for advertising.. You used their product so well rebuilding your bike... I think a company sponsorship of your bike is in order..Maybe a couple of small stickers on the bike and they pay for all of your gas..... You would make a excellent spokesman..:) If you need a agent, give me a call...

Back from Kitchener International Rally
IH Truck Guy replied to Ramblingman's topic in Watering Hole
Shari and I got back to Rhinelander,Wi. about 8:30 sat. nite..Crashed at our buddy's house and left sun. morning and got home tonite. Wow,where to start???? We saw alot of old friends and met alot of new ones. Thanks to the tour group leaders and gunners. The rides and scenery were great.Because of the heavy rain friday morning,we got a late start and barely made the 3:30 ferry in Tobermory. They had just started loading when we got there and had just enough room for the bike on the very end. We made it up to Espanol and got a room for the nite.We knew we were in the right place, when we saw the Wisconsin licences plate hanging above the bar next store.More great people and hospitality.. Coming across the border proved to be a little unnerving for Shari. She decided to take a picture of the sign that say's "Welcome to the United States".We pull up to the gate, and the guard met us next to the bike and asked what she was taking pictures of?? She told him and he made her delete the pics. Then he made her scroll thru the rest of them and asked a whole bunch more Questions about where some of the other pics were taken..He then checked out our paperwork, entered a bunch of stuff in the computer and finally let us go..Shari now fears she is on a "National Watch List" The bike ran great, but it developed a whine in the rear end some where and it's getting worse. And no,it wasn't Shari.:p So I got some work to do to try and figure it out eh ...... So once again,a big two thumbs up to our Canadian members for putting on a great event-eh:bowdown::bowdown::bowdown::bowdown: We will post the pics when our pc picks up the pace.. -
I'm looking for a trailer, but I have to wait and see if I win the one in Kitchener, Like that's gonna happen......I got no luck. I really don't know about the price, since I have not researched Starlite trailers. If you still have it when we get back,we'll have to talk.....

Jay,if ya need a place to wet your whistle or get some great char-grilled burgers or corned beef sandwiches, there is a little bar and grill in South Wayne,Wi.It's on Hwy.11 between Monroe and Dubuque.I can't remember the name of it,but it's right on the corner of hwy.11 and ???? St. It's across the sreet from the only ATV dealer in town.It sits on the NE corner.Your in the right place if you see T-shirts inside that say"You don't know jacks**t".The bartenders name/owner is named Jack.... Sorry I can't remember the name. From there, you can run county road "D" to 78 to 81 to the big river and then north to Ferryville....Have fun..

Drive shaft question
IH Truck Guy replied to emack's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
It is possible to install the driveshaft so it goes under the yoke AND tighten the 4 bolts..So just keep trying and you will get it to engage properly. It took me 7 tries to get mine in place..I found that if you rest the driveshaft on the bottom of the tube and slide it in on a upwards angle,it seemed to work better.. Good luck !! -
Drive shaft question
IH Truck Guy replied to emack's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Yes,that's how I do it on our 1st Gen...Good luck, sometimes it helps to step back, have a beer and try it again... -
Dave, glad to hear you weren't hurt to bad.The bike can be fixed and made even better then before...

Attn FL riders...or aint this a kick in da pants!!
IH Truck Guy replied to 1BigDog's topic in Watering Hole
Jeff,I totally agree with you on this.. Your co-workers must be related to some of my co-workers.:rotfl: -
Englishtown and other tracks that have short run off area's are going to have to rebuild or reconfigure to handle 330 mph runs. The only current track that can handle these speeds is Brainerd..IMHO

Need numbers for the Kitchener Rally wrap-up dinner
IH Truck Guy replied to a topic in Watering Hole
Reiny,I'm in the process of registering with Hal right now,so count me and Shari in...:happy34: -
Now that's funny.Gary,I'm glad you were able to sell the truck, but I'm sad it wasn't to me..But you know what we talked about at Don's,if I would have bought it,Cupcake would divorce me and then I would have to move into the space shuttle with you.

We will be in Rhinelander over the 4th.I will have to see if I can sneek away for a little while.

This is another good example that shows when riding with a group, ride single file or staggered. In the gusty winds, you then have the room to move around as needed.. I have a couple of friends that I won't ride with because they insist on riding side by side. I put Avons on our gen1 and it does seem to be a more sensitive to the wind gusts. But I'm willing to deal with that, because they handle so great...
