IH Truck Guy replied to Squidley's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
What is "TAZ" gonna say about this.???? Seriously buddy, thanks for all the parts you've made over the years. We will be riding Gen5's and your parts will still be out there looking good. -
The memo I got said Cindy was going to be in the dunk tank..Sorry Cupcake... :D  Seriously,These are some of the most scenic roads in the country..No matter which way you go from the Hub,you can't go wrong. We can't wait...

Wow,that is real cool... PGR,BACA,toys for tots,it's nice to see that somebody appreciates the things big bad tattooed bikers do.....and can look past the skin art and see the big hearts that we truly have....:D

Hippo Hands made by Vetter.I use these when it gets real cold. The end where you put your hands thru is big enough so if your wearing a snowmobile suit, you can still get your hand in.The thing I like about these is your hands stay dry in the rain and you can wear a thin pair of gloves instead of bulkier snowmobile gloves. I have had these for over 25 years,so I don't know if Vetter still makes them. The only draw back is you must be able to operate all your bikes handlebar controls without seeing them.. I have had these on 2 750 Honda's and a BMW.They work great on the Venture too..

Hang in there Cindy...YOU GUYS ARE IN OUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS EVERYDAY.

That is really weird that you were there for two straight elections... Kind of a crazy law.... Glad when I get home from the road and can go to my well stocked fridge in the garage and choose between two domestic beers or one fine Canadian beer.:canada:

I thought that was what 4WD was for.... btw.I've hauled them in pick-ups before with no problems.I strongly suggest using the plywood. It really helps spread the weight and will give you piece of mind.

Hey Vinnie,I like the fact that you test yourself.I don't know if our cops are trained in this or not.I think that most cops do a good job at estimating speeds.I'm kissing up in case I ever run into you out on the Island....:D
-
Most people including leo's, have a hard time estimating a passing cars speed. If there were 20 people standing on a sidewalk and a car drove by on the street, you would get 20 different answers as to how fast the car was going. When it comes to average people be asked as witnesses at accident sites to say how fast a vehicle was going,IMHO they are sometimes way off. Years ago,I came to the scene of a bad big truck accident and stopped to see if I could help, because I knew some of the drivers that worked for this company. I listened to a witness telling the cop that the truck was speeding and doing at least 85 mph...I had to tell the cop that this company had their trucks set to run at 65 mph. He put that in the report and the witness got made at me.

If you can find them, pick up a set of "Hippo Hands". They fit over your handle bars and are fleece lined. You can wear a lighter glove and they work very well... I rode up to the snowmobile races in Luck,Wi. one winter..25degrees on the way up Friday and -10 degrees on the way home Sunday nite...... Pretty hard to shift the bike wearing snowmobile boots....
-
What the heck???????? We still have a good month or so to ride....:D As far as washing the bike,I still have bugs on the bike from the trip to Canada.
-
Hmmmmmmm, that's interesting.I had to modify mine because my 1st. gen on the center stand would be on the center drop section and I couldn't drop the tire. I moved the tire vice foward 6" with no ill tipping effects. I'm also going to cut a 4" section out the drop section and weld it back onto the table. That way I should be covered for any bike. Otherwise it's a great lift..
-
Thanks.I was hoping to put a geniune Harley part on the bike,so I could fit in around town.
-
Did you come up with the part# ???????????Inquiring minds want to know....
-
Hey Allen,we're thinking about ya buddy.... Nobody else can be a "professional tourist" like you.....
