I hope to have everything done on my bike, but I will help anybody else work on their bike. I usually only end up with a small box of leftover parts... Other then that,I plan to visit with everyone, work on my tan,and try to harpoon the pond monster..... :D And this year,I'm going to use Heineken for bait.......

Great news......Now I don't have to buy one. er,ah,I mean I'm glad you like it and this will give us an excuse to come and visit, so you can show me how it works,so when I get mine,I'll know how to use it. Ya,that's what I meant..

We were looking for a bagger because I finally convinced Shari that baggers aren't just for old people. We drove and sat on a bunch of Goldwings,Harleys and even a Voyager. She just wasn't comfortable on any of them.. We were on vacation in Rhinelander,Wi. and I was looking thru the little local paper and saw an ad for a Yamaha Venture..What the heck is that?????????????? I called the guy and he said it was kinda like a wing.He said it was just to big for him to move around after having rotator cuff surgery. He was in his late 70's...But he said the bike was at the local dealer and they were closed for the July 4th holiday. So we made plans to go up the following week to look at it...As soon as Shari sat on it,she started smiling and said,"this seat was made for my arse"..And after I rode it,I was amazed that a big bike could handle that well 2-up.... He was asking $2700 and we got it for $1900 as we were the only people to come and look at it because everybody else was looking for a wing. It had been dropped in his garage and at the gas station. His wife was happy he was selling it.So now we were the happy owners of a 1987 Venture with 17,000 miles and a couple of minor dings.. I was helping him clean out the bags and pulled out a Milwaukee Police Dept. jacket.. He was a ex-motorcycle cop..It turned out that he worked with a bunch of my Dad's buddies.....Small world... As I pulled out of his driveway with Shari behind me in the van,He was walking down the driveway with tear in his eye.Shari said that was one of he saddest things she has ever seen... It's been a few years, but we plan on going back up to see him and show him that his bike is in good hands.. I got on the interweb and found this site and the rest is history.. to be continued....... Thanks for the contest Don....

Well,as of right now it's 52 degrees..I took my daughter to work and the roads are like rivers..So we are going to pass on riding today... I know, what a wuss....

Alright,it looks like we are going to brave the ice on the driveway and take the bike out tomorrow in the 40 degree sunshine. We will be on the lookout for the target.:) Let's try to get this scavenger hunt rolling again... It seems that the northern Venture Riders have to carry this hunt even in the snowy winter wonderland..

Lewis,we got our stuff today...Very cool........ Thanks for taking the time to do this..... You are the man...... Although I was a little disappointed that there was no bubble wrap in the box.. This would have kept Shari entertained for hours... :rotfl: OK,I know,I'm in big trouble now....

finally someone figured out whats wrong with our van
IH Truck Guy replied to Cinderella's topic in Watering Hole
Missing weight may or may not stop at 65-70... Do you have any snow or ice packed on the inside of the rim???????? This would cause a problem too........ When you did the bearings, did you replace the races as well ?????? I'm assuming you have the bearings adjusted correctly...... Brand new tires can have a ply separation...Try the easy stuff first. Rotate the tires front to back. That will also make it easier to see any ice build up... Or jack it up,chock the wheels and let the car idle. Then look for any tread wobble... Good luck..... -

Hi Earl. If you pm me your address,I'll send you a check when I get back on Saturday... I also need one of your "Furber Fix" washers if you have any left....Thanks I would think using Never seize on the threads would work too. -
Ya,it's been a snowy winter so far.. It was great coming out of Indianapolis yesterday. The farther north I went, the less snow there was. By the time I hit the Wisconsin border,no more snow. It usually is the exact opposite....

Tire tread seperation or maybe because you had the bearing shimmy happening,it caused a wheel weight to come off... Rotate the tires front to rear and test drive. It might help narrow it down.... -
