Soooooooooooo, buddy, are you saying that the Clampett's weren't riding safe when we came to Kitchener.....:crackup:Come on now, that stuff on the rack was only 3 feet taller then Shari's head... It does make a BIG difference in the way the bike handles.... And that's why I'm going the trailer route...10-4

Mark, thanks for your service to this great country. I don't understand the reason for having to take the MSF course every time you get back. WTF,do they make you take the TSF (tank safety foundation) course if you are sent back???????? Sorry to hear about your plastic taking a hit while you were gone. Plastex works real well as do some other products that have been mentioned on the site.. I don't have any of the parts you need, otherwise I would send them to you free of charge.. Taking the wheels off to get tires is ok....It will give you a chance to give everything the once over, like greasing the splines etc.... As far as the carbs, you could try the vaccum. It won't hurt. Good luck...

IH Truck Guy replied to jlh3rd's topic in Computer, Lights, Horns, Other Electrical
I think that I need to notify e-bay and let them know to expect a whole bunch of collectible cassette decks coming.. That looks awesome.Looks like it came from the factory that way.. -

Hey Brad, what size tires did you have on this trailer????????? And do you remember the axle width?????? I have the measurements off of Red's trailer and would like to compare the two before I get going on mine... Thanks,Dan

Way to go Joe.... Nice looking truck, not a IH,but I won't hold that against you... Are you going to do your orientation in Janesville????????? If so,give me a call and maybe we can get together and compare notes...

Our local bike shop has a bunch of leftover shirts from Myrtle Beach 2008... If that was the last year, that means that they will be collector's item's.... I might have to go make a purchase..E-bay,here I come.... There is hope yet...Maybe I will be able to retire at 80 instead of 83....:rotfl:

If you find "Right Of Way" violations and the slap on the hands that most of the offenders receive disturbing, you should get in touch with your local A.B.A.T.E. chapter.. This is one of the things that they are really trying to change the laws on..

I'm all in on this one buddy......

Hey Lewis,I'm interested..Post them up for auction.... Thanks for doing this. You da Man.......

Well, people say that they get used to it...... I think that you need to rub the shingles on the damaged plastic.... Look at what those flying shingles did.....

Oh,MamaMo,bringing up the diet thing just ruined the moment...

Pretty good race.... Matt Kenseth wins the Super Bowl of Nascar... Sometimes ya gotta just be in the right place at the right time.... Any Nascar fans that are riding thru Southwest Wisconsin need to check out his museum and gift shop in Cambridge,Wi...just east of Madison,Wi...Alot of cool history..... Having said all that,I'm really a bigger NHRA fan,but it's good to see a local guy done good...

Way to go Swifty.....

:sign funny post: Sucking up for cheesecake is perfectly acceptable....... It's in the bylaws......Page 609

I would say yes....... Especially after all the shingles landed on the bikes,right.......Those shingles are heavy and do alot of damage. Good luck buddy.....

Metal roofs are more expensive..... They are nice, but they are noisy during heavy rain and hail.... If the roof is in good shape and you got the new shingles in place, and only having 2 tabs broke off and replaced, you should be ok..................I think I would still submit a insurance claim even though you repaired it yourself... A man's got to get paid for his time...
-
I woudn't do it.I understand your thinking, but if you repair it right, you won't need to paint the roof.If you just replaced the tabs,I would just make sure that the joints under the tabs are sealed up and you should be ok... I prefer to replace the whole shingle, rather then just the tabs because it is critical to make sure the joints are covered.Where the tab broke off has to be sealed also.. What pitch is the roof????? If it's a low pitch, and you end up having to reroof, consider going to 4" exposure to give yourself less chance of having shingles blow off again....4" vs. 5" will use more shingles, but will work much better...I'm also a big fan of "Ice and Water Shield" at the gutter line to prevent ice dams from working their way under the shingles and leaking in the house.Standard roll is 3' wide, but I always double it to get better coverage, especially on houses that have no overhang. I am also not a fan of staples....

She called me a "Sissy".....[Note to self] call and schedule 6 more months of therapy. The lift is set up,but it has my son's go-cart on it and is in front of the crew cab, which is blocked in by the bike and 3 snowblowers all in parts...Oh ya,and the western snow plow that I'm rebuilding and the Cummins diesel that is being prepped to go in the crew cab. Too many projects and not enough time... My neighbor one upped me when he built his garage.2-story with a above ground car hoist.I dislike him very much... Wow,I can't believe she called me a sissy........ Ok,I'm going to take a bubble bath and have a glass of wine......
-
Dan,sorry to hear about all the damage.Real glad you guys are ok..... As far as the roof, remove enough staples to pull back the good shingles so you can replace the shingles that are missing. Then fold over a layer at a time and renail...If you do it right, you should not have to use any tar....That is only used to cover up bad roof jobs. Good luck......If you have any ???????,let me know.........I should be around most of the weekend.

:goodpost: Uncle,Uncle..............I give up..............:yikes: I have finally realized I can't keep up with the "Earl's" of the world, when it comes to repairing these old Ventures.... :D Heck,I can't even keep up with the "Jones's"................ That was a good write-up..I have added it to the list of things to do...Thanks buddy... [hanging his head in shame] he shuffles off to the garage to see if he can unbury the lift table to begin working on the bike.......
