I got a corbin seat for my 93 about 3 years ago, it fits on the bike very well, and over the stock seat fits my butt alot better. It does tend to push you foward and close to the tank, but i think its just the way it is with a 1ST gen , just not much room to deal with. When i oreded my seat they needed to know what my height was and weight, and i think my inseem. The seat fits me very well and im happy with it.

Not willing to give up

That would be anouther thing to check, maybe the valves were never adjusted is very possible, tight valves would give ya some real idle problems. you could do a cylinder leak down test. I took mine to a dealer and had them adjust the valves and sink the carbs.it did idle alot better after it was done, but i think it was the carb sink that really fix the problem with mine.If you check back in here around 8 pm tonight im sure you will have all kinds of things to check out. These guys are pretty sharp on this v-4 stuff i just work on diesels. -
Not willing to give up

Well first thing i would do is make sure the idle isnt set to low, If the idle is set to low you will get a knocking noise from the clutch from the gear lash of the clutch basket to drive gear. I think these engines have kind of a long stroke, So rpms have to be higher to make up for the long dead spot between firing cyliders. I run mine around 950 to 1000 rpm base idle. Other things to check for are vacume leaks and pin holes in the carb diaframs for the slides. Dont know how you were sinking carbs but you need a good carb tuner that reads all four at once. Living where you are at im sure we have a member around there that can help you with sinking the carbs. Sorry about the bad spelling but i am a mechanic and we are not know as great spellers.:rotf: -
86 venture backfiring
93 venture replied to kevin-vic-b.c.'s topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I hate shops like that, everyone wants to work on nice new stuff, dont want to get their hands dirty anymore. Anyhow sounds to me like you have a vacume leak at intake boots or a vacume line cracked,Put your bike on the center stand and let it idle take some carb cleaner and spray around the intake boots,if there's a leak should hear the engine change in sound or rpms will pick up.having the carbs sink isnt a bad ideal to have done also.i would just go ahead and replaced all the vacume hoses and vacume plugs you can find. -
Under hood, driver side, rear engine area, driver side of master cylinder, mounted on firewall. THIS IS WHERE AUTOZONE SAYS IT SHOULD BE,SEEMS TO ME I WORKED ON A 93 F150 AND IT WAS IN THIS LOCATION, IT WAS IN THE FIREWALL, HALF IN CAB AND OTHER HALF UNDER HOOD. IT COMES OUT UNDER THE HOOD.

I AM LOOKING FOR ANYONE THAT HAS HAD OR HAS A JEEP LIBERTY DIESEL. I AM AT THE END OF MY ROPE WITH THIS THING, I THINK MY EGR VALVE HAS GONE BAD AGAIN, HAD IT REPLACED BY THE DEALER AROUND 22,000 MILES AND HAS BEEN OK TILL NOW. HAS 38,000 MILES ON IT NOW WARANTY IS GONE AND GOT A LOW POWER PROBLEM AT TIMES WITH BLACK SMOKE AND DROPING CYLINDERS AT TIMES MOST OF THE TIME IT JUST HAS LOW POWER AFTER IT IDLES FOR 2-3 MINUTES, THEN I JUST SHUT IT OFF AND FIRE IT BACK UP AND EVERTHING IS GOOD, UNTIL I LET IT IDLE AGAIN. I PUT A CHEAP SCANNER ON IT TO READ THE CODES AND I DONT THINK IT IS GIVING ME THE RIGHT CODE P0069, THIS CODE ISNT FOR THIS JEEP ITS LIKE A GM CODE. I WOULD JUST REMOVE THE EGR AND SEE IF ITS JUST PLUG UP WITH GUNK, BUT ITS NO EASY THING TO REPLACE. THATS WHY IM ASKING FOR SOME INPUT IF I SHOULD TRY TO CLEAN IT OR JUST REPLACE IT. JUST WANTED TO SEE IF ANYONE ELSE HAS HAD THIS PROBLEM WITH THESE JEEP DIESEL OR IF IM THE ONLY FOOL THAT GOT ONE OF THESE JUNKERS, THANKS:mo money:

pressure bleeds off of rear shock
93 venture replied to TxVenture's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
What did you figure out the problems was with your bike not running right? -
IM NOT THERE TO HEAR WHAT IT SOUNDS LIKE BUT MY FIRST THOUGHT WOULD BE TO REMOVE THE SPARK PLUGS AND REPLACE WITH A NEW SET,IT DONT TAKE MUCH TO GAS FALED THE PLUGS. IF I JUST START MINE UP IN THE WINTER AND LET IT RUN ON CHOKE FOR TO LONG IT WILL MESS THE PLUGS UP AND I END UP REPLACING THEM.
