I would like some sweet italian sausage and some bacardi's 151. Might be a good idea to hide the 151 till after we get your bike back together. That stuff has a little kick to it.

Venture Cruise does not engage
93 venture replied to a topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Yes i think you would get a set light, until the speed would drop below the set value, i have also had the clutch handle switch fail on mine, from the handle and pivot being wore out. -

Yeah your right it does have a vacume pump, dont know what i was thinking, anyhow it has vacume lines that can crack, thats what happen to mine one time the line on the pod was cracked. In the manuwal there are T/S steps on how to test the cc. -
Not a problem, just let me know when your ready to put her back together. I just got me a new set of hammers the other day i been wanting to try out.

Solid Motor Mount???
93 venture replied to FROG MAN's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
When i put my mounts in it took me about 6 hours but i did not change the left rear lower , because the only way i could see to change it was to just about take out the engine or take ever thing loose and turn the engine in the frame to get at it. my bike had about 78,000 miles on it when i did the mounts, my old rubber mounts were shot. i could put a pry bar under the engine and on top of the frame and move the engine about 3/4" up and down they were so bad. after i replaced the mounts and test drove the bike for the first time it was a new bike, and the feeling of the rear end on ice went away for good after 80 mph. i have had it up to 115 mph and it still felt fine no shakes or fish tailing. you will feel a little more engine vibration, but its worth doing for sure. all of the 2nd gens come from the factory with solid mounts installed, maybe yamaha did know some thing was up with the shake problems -
Well that would suck, Did your buddy pass his test?

Thanks Don, Wish i knew more about this stuff to help ya out but i dont.

Need some insight
93 venture replied to Squidley's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
My 93 was wild at speeds 80 mph and above, i adjust my steering bearings, installed fork brace,`helped alittle but still had a bad wiggle above 80,it was ok with 2 up but by myself it was bad, check my moter mounts with a pry bar and bet i could move the engine 3/4 of a inch up and down, installed solid moter mounts and problem is gone.at hi speeds on mine before i change the mounts it felt like the rear end was on ice. it would chase cracks in the road, but all better now. -
Thanks for the pics John, was good seeing you again, your gonna have to ride over to IL. with us this summer, me and Kevin end up going over there alot. got to get some miles on that new bike!

Dont forget you have a pick up coil under the fly wheel cover, unless a 83 did this in anouther way, im not sure if the tci has battery power as well as key switch power, i would think it should have both. maybe someone has a extra tci they would loan ya for a test before you spend the big bucks on a new one.

1986 Venture speakers size
93 venture replied to Judd's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I have heared some of them have been able to take out the front turn signals to remove the nuts from the back side of the speakers, instead of taking the dash panels apart. You might want to take one out first and get a speaker with the same size magnet, there is not a lot of room in there.- 11 replies

Put you bike up on the center stand over night and pull the drain plug, if there is any coolant you should see it drain out first maybe before you get the plug out, im not sure but the cc breather looks like it might also be some kind of oil cooler, it looks to have a coolant line running to it in the part pictures.

Hey Don, did anyone fix the street sign at the end of your road? I was thinking last year it was hard to read or someone had painted over it.
