  1. LOL, No vapour trail, only a trail of £££££ as it's £7 per gallon over here ($11 at todays exchange), I will try and keep it under/around the 70mph mark after I fill up and see if I can get 150 range to the tank. Thanks for the tip about venting the tank, I'll have to look into that further. Cheers.
  2. I filled my tank up a few days back and have been riding back and forth to work in the rare Scottish sunshine, on my way home yesterday I noticed the fuel gauge dip and the "F" count begin, I anly had 78 miles since brimming her . Now I am riding solo and doing anywhere from 55 to 90 mph (mostly above 70 ) so it looks like I'll be lucky to get 100 miles to the tank before empty, unless I bumble around at 55 all day . However I never had any "Low fuel warning light appear" is this only on the Venture model as I can't see a low fuel light on the consol ? Cheers.
  3. Thanks for your help guys, I bought the RK pipes from ebay, £70 inc postage (shipping) I had trouble getting the RK muffler clamps, would you believe my local Harley franchise only had "One" RK muffler clamp in stock, I ended up picking up a pair from a custom bike shop in Glasgow, he even threw in the four Harley mounting bolts to attach to my bracket, as it's all metric nuts/bolts over here. I fabricated my L mounts out of aluminium sheet and doubled it for extra strength, a bit of off and on the bike though until I found the right spot to drill the hole for the bike. But I was itching to fire her up though, hit the button and.......... very nice rumble, not too in your face so I pee off the neighbours heading out at 6 am, but hit the revs and she now has a roar. All in all well pleased for £80 for a nice set of straight through Harley pipes, I'll keep my old ones handy for the annual vehicle test over here (MOT), as they can be very picky, (frickin european rules). Cheers again.
  4. Cheers guys, I have a 2007 RSTD, I will fabricate some hangers if I win them and give them a go, I have the standard pipes with four holes drilled around the end of each pipe, but they are still quiet, if these are straight through I should hopefully get a good rumble on. Cheers.
  5. Hi guys, I have read lots about road king pipes on the forum, but as I am in the UK, there are not anywhere near the same quantity of harley pipes for sale, i have seen a few sets from other harleys though, can anyone have a look at this ebay auction for me and advise if these modded straight through pipes would fit on my RSTD ?. 6. I can't wait to get back to the states this summer (annual family vacation in Cape Coral) as $3.60 a gallon is a bargain, compaired to our rip off prices in the UK, our prices are so high that our gas stations show per litre prices, just now gas is £1.35 per litre, that is around £6.75 per Uk (metric) gallon, slightly more than the US measure. But at todays exchange rate of $1.63 to the UK £ that is over $11 a gallon, and our lovely goverment tax is around 80p ($1.30) per litre. The average Joe is getting priced off the road, the joke is the North sea has been pumping the stuff off my coastline for decades, but unlike the Arab countries, all our oil money goes to London. Cheers.
  7. Thanks for the replies, I'll try that and report back. Cheers.
  8. Thanks for your reply, I can't find many other photos of the rear of the stock pipes, but looking at yours it may well be the case they have been drilled by the previous owner, he never made mention of it though. Only thing is the sound is a bit quiet for my liking, having had a vmax with a cobra 4-1 and a fatbob, I was looking for a bit more rumble. I better keep the dremel handy then
  9. Hi all, I have a 2007 RSTD, I am in the UK and this is an import from the US, as they don't sell them in the UK, I am going to try the dremel drilling to cut the centre outlet pipe as described, but I wanted to check that this mod will work on my pipe for sure, before I start cutting, as spare parts are rare over here. I understand the principle above, but I would like you to look at the photo of my end pipe to confirm it's the same mod. The end of my can looks sealed with a baffle plate around the full diameter, it has the centre pipe which is recessed inside the pipe (not sticking out the end) and there are two tiny holes top and bottom, and four large holes around the centre pipe. The four large holes don't look modded or drilled out, but I wanted your opinions on whether this is a standard looking 2007 RSTD pipe suitable for the dremel mod above.
