  1. I read the old threads and have looked at Rivco's product, just can't part with the $300+. Anyone out there have a center stand they can part with or know of someone that is looking to get rid of one? Thanks Also Semper FI to all other military veterans out there. Happy Armed Forces Day. Mongo
  2. My 06 does the same thing and I looked it up on the forum and read that it was caused by shock lubrication. It is not a bad thing and can be fixed by either replacing the shock or much more easily corrected by leaning the bike over almost on its side and allowing some of the shock fluid to lubricate the seals then standing it back upright. Several people chimed in that it worked, but I have not tried that yet. I would of course recommend laying it down on something soft and having help to get it back up as we all know these beast are not exactly light. Good Luck Mongo
  3. Gentlemen, Thank you all for the valuable infor. It appeared to be the basic problem of not cycling through the select sequence before trying to manually tune the radio. I figured it out by messing with it and realized in my haste to do it while riding I had not set it up for success. Lesson learned. The two firesticks are also working great for both CB and radio. Very happy I made that upgrade. Ride safe and enjoy the ride. Mongo
  4. Has anyone had a problem with their radio not wanting to search for channels manually? Mine worked when I bought it last month, now when I hold the up/down button for longer than 2 seconds it just goes to the next preset station instead of searching for stations. Thanks Mongo
  5. Thanks again all. I got two Firesticks to replace the CB and Radio antenna's. All is working fine now and I even bought an SWR meter to ensure they stay tuned properly. I really appreciate all of the insight. Mongo
  6. THanks all, Unfortunately I have tried to transmit and yes the TX does show up on the display. I will cease with those attempts until I replace the antenna. Hopefully no real damage has been done. Mongo
  7. I have an 06 Black Cherry RSV and the gentlemen I bought the bike from did not like the long dual antennas so he either cut them off or got shorties to fit under the trunk. He never used the CB so didn't know if it worked. I of course want the long antennas and the CB to work. With the current short antennas I can hear from other CBs but not transmit. Any ideas if this is due to the inadequate antenna or could it also be a CB problem? Thanks for any insight I can get. Mongo
  8. Bummer, How did you run both into one antenna? That sounds interesting. Thanks MongoE9
  9. If anyone has any old stock antennas and mounting hardware laying around I could sure use them. The guy I bought my 06 Venture from cut and hid them both under the trunk and used primarily an XM radio. I now want to use the radio and the CB properly but am having a hard time finding stock antennas or anything else without breaking the bank. THanks for any insight. MongoE9 SgtMaj USMC
  10. I had one of those and after about 6 months the handle broke off and I almost lost my GPS going down the road. Luckily not in a turn and could grab with the free hand before it was gone. Be careful right at the ball the extension arm will eventually break. Mongo
  11. Size 14 boots and never had a problem with the heel/toe shifter on my Nomad. My 06 RSV has the shifter and brake pedal cut and welded and they look like crap. The previous owner obviously cut off the heel part and modified the toe part. I would love to replace them both. If anyone has them laying around or know of a low cost stock option I would greatly appreciate it. SInce I ride with my feet on the highway pegs 99% of the time I shift and brake with my heels anyway. Thanks Mongo
  12. Since I can't post on the classified section yet, although I am a paid member, I am looking for a stock heel/toe shifter and stock rear brake lever/pedal. The original owner of my 06 RSV cut them off and did a crappy welding job of replacing them. Don't ask why, but they have got to go. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Mongo
