  1. I don't know if that would work or not and I don't know if its a practical idea or not. I think if you asked "beer30" he would tell you that having access to the materials in quanity and the experience working with it makes a difference wether its affordable or not. I would like to make a trailer that way but I am not sure I could actually do it successfully. Bob
  2. Yes that is a sears box. I had to replace it once because some clown in a small dump truck ran into the back sitting at a light. the axle is a torq axle, I think it is 45 degree up angle. I had trouble with the fenders. the first set mounted to the axle itself but would not stay in place. this set are mounted to the box but with the weight they started to crack the plastic. I have sandwiched the plastic with diamond plate in and out and mounted the fenders to it. that took care of the cracking problem. i mounted hydralic closers to keep the top open. the lights are just recessed into the top. the plastic is flimsey and the vibration from the road has already started to crack it around the bolts that hold it on. anyone using this type of box should check that on a regular basis. Ask "crash" I think his fell apart while he was on a trip. I would love to have a hard fiberglass box but you are looking at 400 to 500 for one. by the time you buy everything else you can buy a nice factory made trailer for what you have invested. these do work well for the money and it pulls great and believe me we pack it full when we travel.
  3. here is a pic of the one I built. I would like to have a fiberglass carrier but they are expensive. this works great and dollar for dollar I am not sure it is worth it but it works. Bob
  4. Brad and Lonna, If there is anything at all that Becky and I can do give us a shout. We ride along day after day and don't think about what can happen and especially, how fast it can happen. Thankfully it was not much worse. Take care of each other and take comfort in all the friend you have here to help. Bob
  5. Don, Enjoy and relax.
  6. just great Don, I think you gave it to me or maybe it was that warm weather in Florida last week. I probably incubated some bug that I took down there with me. Bob
  7. Your right about that road. we have been on it a couple of times. As a matter of fact we rode down it a couple of weeks ago. We were not on the bike but the waterfalls and the curves and the lakes are great even in the truck. The traffic was really light when we were down there too. I am glad you were able to ride that much this time of the year. I see the temps are running in the high 40s. Have a good ride home. Bob
  8. Don, I will take a couple of them. Bob

    Lost Key

I got a small plate with a number on it when I bought my bike. the dealer told me to keep it handy and if I lost a key take the number to a dealer and they can make a key. I haven't had a need for it but I do keep it close at hand. Bob
  10. I think you will find that most of the noise you are getting is coming from the passenger head set. Unplug it and see if it doesn't work better. My wife doesn't believe it because she doesn't hear as much of the wind as I do. The only solution I found was to put a mic mute on and it works great. Bob
  11. I don't think you can notice that their black is not as deep unless you put the seat on a darker colored bike. I have seen many Corbin seats and none of them are a true black to me. The one I have on our bike now is the same way but I guess after you ride with it for awhile you just get used to it. I wouldn't take it off because of the color and I really like how comfortable it is. Bob
  12. They have worked for us for a long time.
