With it coming across the median it could have been an impact speed of over a 100 mile per hour easily. Also with the truck going the other way he could have got away very easily? do you know if the truck was caught and info recieved?

I spent several hours there and the Korean war area around 2000. Kept coming back to the wall and was tore up. It is so simple and plain in it design, but when upon it it is large with names looking back at you. The shine of the black granite and the "littering"(not meant disrepectful) of flowers, letters and personal items bring it to life. I knew no one on it but knew that you (dad) knew a few. Have friends whose fathers seen action action and one whose dad got messed up by a landmine. (jp's dad) But not any friends who lost dads. Some that had slight mental issues maybe. But what I remember the most was buying one of those pins from the pow-mia guys that said served in veitnam or my dad served in veitnam. When I showed to my dad he pointed to me real quick that he did not serve in veitnam. Thialand is not Veitnam was said and was proud of what he did but that he was not one of the Veitnam vets. Thanks to all who did their part, and especially you dad. Love ya, brian.

Thanks Dingy. that is what I was hoping for. That little jet on the left needs to come out and cleaned out. Don't drop it either. Tiny hole.

Apparently I like turning left more than I like turning right....

I got more miles out of some sportbike tires then that. Seems awful low mileage. Of course that last Pilot Power on the FZ1 did not last 1200 miles. -
First real ride on my bike the Beastie Boys song Sabotage was playing when I started getting comfortable on the bike. Lets see if anyone else knows this song or band. Dont forget I am 42.

I agree, Of all the other sites I am on this one is good and the cleanest. I realize at 42 I may be one of the younger regulars and my sense of humor is not very reverant, but there is so little bashing of others and different ideas. Thanks, Brian PS I should add that I am pleased with the impalassforum too. considering the racial deversatity that site has it shares well also.

Brass plugs maybe the mixture screws they are talking about. I believe you can remove those without removing the carbs from the bike. But if you are removing carbs hold them up to a light without the diaphrams in and sync your cars that way. Just set them where the same amount of light shines through. after that several of times I barely changed them after hooking up my sync tool. Did your remove the jets from the block or clean them with them in. Believe me when I say you need to remove those jets to clean them. Very tiny orifice. My carbs still had the plugs covering the air screws and found from the factory one of the screws were bottomed out. Anyone else ever had that happen? Can someone post some pics of the plugs under the diaphram caover and maybe the small jet in the jet block?
-
Did you remove the small aluminum block inside each carb, then remove the two jets under the rubber plugs? If not you may have wasted your time the first time you tore em apart. Those jets stop up and cause alot of the problem. They are very small. I tore my 85 carbs apart 3 times before realizing the problem there.

I always had great luck there. The FZ1OA (FZ1 owners ass.) holds a ralley there every year. I believe some years we had at least 70 bikes. They plan ahead and reserve several cabins and then the ralley was held on Shuckstack rd? They work great with the groups. I would recommend them as a ralley location. Only thing is the roads are not their private property I believe and if you ride through there without a helmet you can get a ticket.

Thanks that looks good. Glad to see something like that before I try. Im not used to not being able to hear my bike run. Don't want loud and ubnioux just something with tone.

Nice friends you have, Can at least one of them post some pictures of this. I got to change my stock 86s soon.

If I take pictures with my cell phone, ( Iphone right now) I just email them to myself and open the email on the pc. I have customers that don't text so I just send them their pictures of problems or progress through email.

A squared plus B squared equals C squared. 40 squared plus 18 squared equals 1924 which becomes 43.864 feet. about 43 feet and 10 inches. I could be wrong because it has been awhile. I also believe that is what the Scarecrow quotes after the wizard gives him a brain in the wizard of oz.

My rookie mistake may be more serious
Lil Venturous replied to Venturous Randy's topic in Watering Hole
Thanks for the call dad. Been late the last couple of evenings and not checked much. Sorry to her about this happening to you and Linda. Hope it goes well tomorrow and have linda call me when you get out of surgery. Like I say my bike is available for yall to ride if you bacome available to ride soon. Once or twice since my hernia surgery I let the bike lean a little far and was scared of more damage. Sat here all day sunday and wanted to call you and go for a ride. wished I had called now. Especially after I realized it was the third sunday. Love ya dad and hope you get better. Linda should be good for taking care of you. If not I can get Karen to come check on you. PS TO ALL. I dont believe he has his phone with him tonight in case you are trying to call him. Love ya Dad -
green light triggers

Not tried on the venture yet, But on my old FZ1 I would hit the starter button for a moment and believed that helped some. The starter would spin but had a sprag or something in the system so it caused no issue with the bike. -
Not Enough, I dont have time to ride. The 86 has around 30,000 I think. Too tired to walk the flight of stairs and see.

Thanks for the write up. While I have not had a problem with the VR, I have had problems with some sportbikes when I switch to the Eurotail light modifier. They delete the factory turn signals and allow the the two brake lights to act as the blinkers. Never felt I had enough resistance with the rear leds to let it work right. Something like this could maybe solve that problem? Now I just need to get my FZ1 back and try it.
-
No hands off riding on my 86. My CBR and FZ1 anywhere between 130mph to about 10mph there was no problem. Used to stand on the seat with the CBR doing an iron cross with idle turned up and could lean and steer and everything. I assumed the venture would be more stable then the other 2 bikes? Head bearing feel real good and tires in good balance?

Ok, today did not feel like summer at all here. Actually felt more like spring. Cold and wet all day on that ladder. Even blew my big hat off today.
-
They might be a little more then most run in the front? You may also look into progressive springs and not run any air. Im am still new to the ventures though and hope others chime in. I keep hopeing my airride dont tear up.

Still a little warm for me today. Especially with these antibiotics Dr has me on. Bought a big floppy hat this weekend. My helpers were calling me beaner all day. It sure is fun when you work with carpenters that you make fun of.
