Were I typed above " that is were the magnetic.".... should have read " that pinion is were the magnetic trigger is..... " I left out ''pinion'' leading people to think the trigger was in the ring gear, no so , it is in the pinion and the speedometer sensor " counts the rotation of the pinion ,and it doen't matter if it's 9 or 10 tooth pinion , one rotation is one rotation. The only way that speedometer reading could be efected is if you changed the 33 tooth ring gear. Sorry for the typo.
-
RSV has 10 tooth pinion and 33 tooth ring gear .....VMAX has 9 tooth pinion and 33 tooth ring gear , you notice the ring gears are the same 33 tooth.......that is were the magnetic trigger is built in for speedometer sensor...... and that means as long as you have a 33 tooth it does not matter what size pinion you have , it's not going to change the speedometer reading.

Vmax gears in RSV will not alter speedometer, I've installed 8 or 9 , again will not change speedometer reading.

Hey, we are a metzeler tire dealer, and their new ME888 is going to be coming soon, just after the first of the year. We have allready seen them and they look great . You can't go wrong with the metzeler ME880's but you should wait a little while on the new ME888. Enjoy your new bike.

Pretty happy with my Metzler ME 880's

Good choice ,at our shop we sell more metzelers than all the other brands. They are high performance tires ,and require higher PSI , so keep the pressure up. I run my RSV two up heavy, 90% of the time , front 40 PSI , rear 50 PSI. We and our customers love em'. -
Dunlop fitment guide only gives Maximun Load @ Psi. Front 150/80-16 761 Lbs.@ 41 Psi. Rear MV85B15 910 Lbs.@ 40 Psi. for RSV's and RSTD's. We have had a few try the E3's most ran 40psi front and rear, easy to remember.

We are Metzeler dealers ,along with every other name brand tire. We have sold and installed thousands of me880's, hundreds on RSV's and RSTD's, and have never seen "chunking" of the tread. But it can happen with any brand tire, from overheating, from insufficient tire pressure. Every brand has different recommended pressures for there tires that are mounted on different bikes. We give these recommended pressures to our customers at time of purchase,( correct pressures for their bikes), and we have very little problems out of tires. We have seen that a lot of people don't know the correct pressures for ME880's on RSV's and RSTD's and don't run enough air. So from the Metzeler technical fitment guide.....Solo-Front 38-40 Rear 44-46, 2 Up Light-Front 40-42 Rear 46-48, 2Up Heavy-Front 40-42 Rear 48-50. We run Metzeler tires on all of our personal bikes (7) and like them over other tires.

Here's the problem, I agree they ( the goverment ) should not have to make it a law not to ride without a helmet, not to work in a work zone without a hard hat, not to text while driving, not to drink and drive, not to speed in school zones or in towns. But a lot of people don't have common sense, freedom isn't doing anything you want. Laws are made to protect the many from the few.

We are a Metzeler dealer and at our shop we too are fans, and most of our customers, of the me880 on rsv, rstd, and many other bikes. Heat does effect tire wear but not as much as improper inflation pressure. Metzeler tires are high perfomance tires and run higher inflation pressures. The Metzeler factory fitment guide says for rsv,and rstd 36/42 for front, 44/49 for rear. The lower pressures are for solo only, the higher for two up. If these tires ,or any tire for that matter, are run low they will run hotter than they should and wear. Metzelers run higher inflation pressures than other brands.

Copy that .
