    How in the world does the part of the dash come apart where the speedo is. have searched here, googled it, looked in repair manual. I have the front part of farring apart. I can see the backside of cluster, but cannot get to it. I am specifically wanting to access the clear lense you see the speedo through.

    The bike and especially the dash (ie speedo, clock, trip) is so cool looking during the day. But at night I got a since of it not being very attractive with the current backlight. I am going to ATTEMPT to replace mine with blue and install a dimmer as well. Found the company with the items I need, just have to remove dash to measure how big of a piece to order.

    If you have attempted it please chime in. I am going to remove the dash and buy a replacement electroluminescent sheet that I can trim to fit for backlight on the instrument cluster. I am going to go with blue, just wondering if anyone has attempted this? If not then I guess Ill be the one to try it out....... I have an aftermarket tach that I am going to change out to matching blue light as well. The blue is easier on the eyes in my opinion as well as looks good when light.

    I read an artical with a tiny warning foot note (*) that they "may" not work with certain leds. Are designed to operate with standard bulbs, but take into consideration I seen that when I was researching back off modules. I have NO personal experience with them.

    Yep ebay I found the bib and cover. I just got done with the exhaust mod and WOW it sounds a ton better. I did the 4 holes at 12 3 6 9 out to 1/2". This bike has 3100 miles on it so my money can be spent on goodies right now. It is in "need" of nothing. Dealer went ahead and brought it up to 4,000 mile service requirements so I am good for a while.

    I thank each one of you so much. A quick "google" search lead me in 100 different directions at once. One apparent reason is from the name change (which I see clearly now) and the other is like was posted above, some people do not know how to properly, or affectively list parts due to things such as the name change. But I learned rather quickly with the fantastic help here this bike is just a bike. I know can find the parts I am looking for, and will enjoy doing tech write ups on some of the adds I install. My work is rather good and detailed. As for the lift adapter, I keep seeing it but what does it adapt to?? I understand from looking at it it fastens to the bike but what jack is it used with?? I currently DO NOT have a cycle jack of any fashion only a couple 2 1/2 ton snap-on jacks for auto service. I would have immediatly joined, but as you know web forums are a dime a dozen, however good web forums are rare. Once I seen the response and desire to assist with my concerns I knew I had found a good one, so therefore becoming a member was an easy choice. I am so much looking forward to adding, and accessorizing this bike. I am not a tight whad so spending money or prim and proper fit items is a must. I dont make mistakes or have a hacked up vehicle, bike, or whatever because I research, research research before doing anything. This bike has such great reviews, and what I was able to purchase it for made it that much better. Once again THANK YOU ALL so very much. To say your knowledge is appreciated is a definate understatement.......

    Thanks for the help. Also those pics were at the dealership LOL Dealership says 2009 Yamaha Royal Star Venture "S" with optional two tone upgrade.

    How are you determining that? Nothing I find in a vin search shows anything other then a 2009 Yamaha Royal Star. But researching the bike it says it is a STAR MOTORCYCLE. The history section does not clear anything up. I am an auto tech of 20 years and this is whipping my azz.............. XVZ13TFSY when I search that like on ebay I get 13 items. If I do a more detailed search it shows everything from a 1999-2009 but the parts do not interchange. Putting in a XVZ1300 yields same thing. Search 2009 Royal star venture and get nothing. I find it hard to believe parts are NOT on ebay, but ill be darned if I can find any. Then searching aftermarket suppliers like the links posted here I cant find anything at all other then some little chrome things. Guess Ill just go to the parts counter at dealer 80 miles away and see what they come up with.

    I am still confsed on how to look up parts/accessories. It show soo many optional bikes I simply do NOT know what this one is. Some places call it a Yamaha royal star venture, some a star royal, then within the year model it will show different models. I am going to beat some information out of my dealer. Some things show 1999-2009 while the same thing from different supplier shows 2005-2009 venture ONLY, or royal star ONLY...... I know I sound like an idiot here, but I seriously have no clue how to find guarenteed to fit parts. Someone here stated it was an XVZ1300 or somthing like that, but parts listings show like an XVZ13TFYCR or a XVZ13TFYR or a XVZ13TFSY ???? How in the world do you pin down what bike is what????

    The salesman told me they like to wind up. Guess he was correct. I tell you though I have had a heck of a time so far finding accessories. I guess Im just missing them somewhere, but evenin the links provided I have yet to find a lightbar or headlight visor maybe just tired, been a long day. Enjoying reading here, it is very informative to say the least....

    Thank you much. I need a headlight visor, and running (passing) light bar and lights. That was where the confusion come in.

    Thank you so much. I read the history but was not sure how to properly apply it to my bike. Im coming off of a 2007 M50 Boulevard. Cannot wait for warm weather. Do you recommend anyone in perticular for aftermarket, or oem accessories such as light bars and lighting?

    Just bought a 2009 Yamaha Royal Star. JYAVP04E39A015375 Has 3,000 miles on it. Need to know what it is exactly like what generation, what specific model, If when looking for parts I see "XVC1300", or "XVZ1300", is it a "Star" Royal venture, or Yamaha Royal venture, or what??
