I posted a request for an old cassette player that was not being used. SMSgt stepped up said he had one, shipped it to me and did not even want his shipping expenses reimbersed. HUGE thank you for the very kind gesture. What a great group of people here.

It is not the easiest thing I have ever done. Hopefully will be the first and last time. On Monday evening I responded to a very well known address, CPR in progress, possibly heart attack. With all the effort, all the meds, all we had in us we poured into this code patient. Now with a deeply hurting heart tomorrow I say goodbye for the last time to one of our own. Our emergency services director who has built our E911 system to what it is, helped neighboring communities do the same, and she lived for nothing more then to serve the community through our emergency communication facility. I was assigned to assembling the line up of emergency apparatus for the funeral procession. I have detailed our units until I cannot clean no more, have units coming from 6 neighboring communities consisting of fire, police, and ambluance, as well as NE Missouri emergency managment and Air Evac lifeflight lifeteam. No matter if its fire, police, emt, dispatcher, or director, to me we are one of the same. I think I did all I could to make this as fitting as possible to honor her career. I hope it all works out good. Their will be 2 TV stations there as well so I will post some footage of the procession when available. This is a tough assignment and I just hope I completed it to the families satisfaction.

I have a hp laptop running windows 8 IE explorer. 64 bit OS. For some reason if I go to say craigslist and try to email someone, it says no email associated with this program or something like that. I am the end of my patience. I cannot for any reason get this thing to open a email program while on the net when trying to reply to something.

Radio controls look funny
royalstar09 replied to royalstar09's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
The in-line look is soooo under rated From the time I sit it up on the showroom floor, them controls bothered me. They just looked so out of place. I really like things to look neat, and fit in, and be user friendly. The Barons tach now fits in with the opposite side. It just tied the cockpit all together in my opinion. I am betting that with 272 views, mine will not be the only one that gets this little modifications. -
You could not be any more wrong if you tried. What you will find if ya hang around a bit is that you had a group willing to possibly go find it, look at it, ride it, and shake it down for you. I have been skinned by other sites in the past so I can understand the apprehension, BUT not with this group. You fell into the best darm group of folks or two, or three wheels you will ever meet.

My new Garmin come in today. I was registering it and downloading some stuff, stuck the sucktion mount to my laptop while it was downloading, just had one of the moments when I seen it there. Too much cold nasty, rainy, snow, and ooh yeah the tornado last night is getting to me.

Caught myself off guard. For safety reasons I had turned the key to the lock position. I was working on a little project and went to stand the bike up with the steering in full right turn. It just scared me a little more then anything. I was expecting the bars to come straight but of course they didnt. Ooh well. Lesson learned.

Anytime someone goes to have surgery done, no matter how big, or small, its always a huge risk. Thats great news to hear the things went so well. Now the healing begins. Be back on the bike before you know it

Radio controls look funny
royalstar09 replied to royalstar09's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I definetly appreciate the honesty. It it suprisingly more level with your sight while in riding position then you would think. I really like being able to reach the controls while maintaining contact with the grip. For me The appearence was driving me crazzy and I felt it to be slightly unsafe. Best part if I ever get rid of it a couple dollar bracket puts it right back where it was. I like mods I can "undo". -

All done and it is just what I wanted. Nice neat streamline look that does not "jump out" at you when you approach the bike. http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a1dc09b3127ccefc2d0a54e41900000030O08AZtmjJo0aOAe3nws/cC/f%3D0/ps%3D50/r%3D0/rx%3D550/ry%3D400/ Thumb reaches up and down controls http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a1dc09b3127ccefc2c5608c42700000030O08AZtmjJo0aOAe3nws/cC/f%3D0/ps%3D50/r%3D0/rx%3D550/ry%3D400/ http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a1dc09b3127ccefc2d2d17a4d100000030O08AZtmjJo0aOAe3nws/cC/f%3D0/ps%3D50/r%3D0/rx%3D550/ry%3D400/ Bracket looks like factory. http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a1dc09b3127ccefc2c85e2050c00000030O08AZtmjJo0aOAe3nws/cC/f%3D0/ps%3D50/r%3D0/rx%3D550/ry%3D400/ NEW LOOK http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a1dc09b3127ccefc2d9eef65d800000030O08AZtmjJo0aOAe3nws/cC/f%3D0/ps%3D50/r%3D0/rx%3D550/ry%3D400/ OLD LOOK http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a1dc31b3127ccefc01ae9bb82b00000030O08AZtmjJo0aOAe3nws/cC/f%3D0/ps%3D50/r%3D0/rx%3D550/ry%3D400/ -
Google, Bing, or whatever else you use has nothing on this. As you can see it directs you to some very good sites. My new personal web nav unit.... http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a1dc09b3127ccefc2d59aa256600000030O08AZtmjJo0aOAe3nws/cC/f%3D0/ps%3D50/r%3D0/rx%3D550/ry%3D400/

I may be the only one, but when looking at the radio controls, and how they are mounted they look out of place. Also I dont like having to move my hand to adjust the volume. I realise they are mounted so that they sit "flat" or "level" when the bike is upright but looking at other things like master cylinders being on a slope just makes the control look ot of place. So I am modifying my ounting bracket. Ill post pictures tomorrow. Looks like this now http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a1dc06b3127ccefc223ca38bbf00000030O08AZtmjJo0aOAe3nws/cC/f%3D0/ps%3D50/r%3D0/rx%3D550/ry%3D400/ Bracket before modification http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a1dc06b3127ccefc236e5cab2500000030O08AZtmjJo0aOAe3nws/cC/f%3D0/ps%3D50/r%3D0/rx%3D550/ry%3D400/ Modified http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a1dc06b3127ccefc23c51c6a9800000030O08AZtmjJo0aOAe3nws/cC/f%3D0/ps%3D50/r%3D0/rx%3D550/ry%3D400/ Remounted it and closed the "gap" I ground out untill it was in perfect line with the master cylinder angle http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a1dc06b3127ccefc230eeaaba300000030O08AZtmjJo0aOAe3nws/cC/f%3D0/ps%3D50/r%3D0/rx%3D550/ry%3D400/ Welded and ground down http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a1dc06b3127ccefc23cb96eb2500000030O08AZtmjJo0aOAe3nws/cC/f%3D0/ps%3D50/r%3D0/rx%3D550/ry%3D400/ Now I used a small amount of JB Weld to put a skim coat on it to cover grind marks. It is drying now. By tomorrow I will have it sanded, primed, and painted. Ill post finished pics tomorrow. The fit is awesome now. Cannot wait to get this little mod done so my thumb will reach controls and it looks more in place.

Yamaha dealer cleaned the carbs. Tank is not rusted. It runs fine, gears are all there. Just needs some TLC. $300.00 owns it. Checking vin with Mo highway patrol in the morning. It will be a really fun restoration project.
