  1. It's always sad to hear new's of this sort. Myself and my Family wish you a speedy and complete recovery. Keith Jan Jen and Becks.
  2. Hi Squid, I read about the accident that you guys had, seeing the pictures that you posted at the time, I recall thinking that you two should go play the power ball (I think that is the name of the Lottery) it is good to see that you have both recovered and still enjoy riding today. Continued success to you both and take care. Keith.
  3. Hi Squid. I too ain't no expert, that is why I asked the stealer. I am now beginning to think that he did give me a bit of the B.S. I checked my front tire to see where it was made, it came from Brazil, so much for the made in Spain speel. But I will tell ya in all the 33 years that I have been riding I have yet to experience a blow out or a de-lamination of a tire, nor do I ever hope too "knock on wood" ,my fingers are also crossed when I say that, although a friend of mine, who owns a 1999 Venture did have his rear stock Bridgestone de-laminate on the hiway doing the ton, he was lucky to be able to tell the story. I must say that I have never had a problem with all the Metzlers that I have owned over the years and for that reason alone I will continue to use them. Having said that I will continue to monitor this and other web sites to see if there continues to be problems with the Metzlers. Sorry if I got your back up Squid.LOL. Ride safe. Keith.
  4. I went too my Yami dealer last month to have the front replaced with an Avon. He said that he will not stock Avon's due too problems that some of his customers have had with them, he said that they have "delamination" issues. I mentioned to him the issues that some members of this site have had with the 880's. He said to me that the 880's from Mexico have been an issue but the one's shipped here to Canada usually come from Spain. I don't know if he was giving me a bunch of "fluff" or not, just to clear out his Metzler stock but I did go for the Metzler, as I always have. I hope that I made the right choice. It's a bloody shame that you have to go through this kind of thought process regarding tires, you think that they would have got it right by now, after all peoples lives are at stake here. http://www.us.metzelermoto.com/web/products/tire_pressures/default.page K.
  5. Hey Brian, crank up the tunes you will never notice it. LOL Keith.
  6. My wife and I went up it, oh, about 4 years ago. Good pavement about half way up then compact gravel. We went up early in the Morning not too much traffic at all going up. The parking lot at the top was a bugger to negotiate, due to the over size gravel. Coming back down around the Noon hour there was lots of traffic heading up. The top section was a bit tricky due to the Two way traffic and narrow road but manageable. Use low gears on the way down and little to no brakes,if you can, my rear brake failed, I guess it overheated, as, after riding on the open road for a while it started to work as normal. The view from the top was well worth it though. Keith.
  7. What Goose sez. K.
  8. I've heard that the Deer whistles do NOT work, but there is available an electronic device for a car or motorcycle that emits a tone within the same decibel range that Deer, hear. The thing is, now, you get into the "fight or flight" scenario. Will the Deer turn and run? Or will the Deer choose to fight........ http://www.deer-whistle.com/ http://911phone.net/Alert.htm The last link will fill you in on the effectiveness of Deer whistles. Ride safe. K.
  9. My wife and I picked up our new trailer 2 weeks ago. After picking that up we hooked up with a friend who has just purchased a Beemer. He took us for a ride through the back roads from Newmarket Ontario to Innisfill Beach. It was glorious day for a Spring ride, I decided to ride behind my buddy in the left tire lane, he in the right tire lane, I stayed left has I was new to pulling trailers with a bike and did not want to run into a storm grate by the side of the road. The road was as smooth as silk, farmers fields on the left, bush on the right. (you know were this is going don't you). In the blink of an eye a Deer sprung from the bush cleared the ditch and planted his front hooves into the roadway. I don't know what would have happened if the Deer hadn't had done an about face and ran back into the bush, I as well as my friend had no time what so ever to react, fortunately the Second Deer that was about to follow also turned back. I know that this would have been messy if they both would have chose to keep running across the road, that would have been quite the christening for the new trailer now wouldn't it. Now I know for sure that I have an Angel looking after me....and my mate. Hey Eddy you and your Wife also have an Angel on your shoulders. Take care and get well quick. Best wishes. K.

  15. Well it's about time. The trunk wing is finally available for the 06 Black Cherry, and will you look at that it is also available for the 08 Dark Grey metallic. I don't see it on the Yamaha USA web site, nor on any of the other suppliers that we use here. To buy it in Canada will cost you big bucks though.
