    Somebody out there must have a definitive answer on who makes floorboards to fit of how to best adapt a set. I know some of you prefer the pegs but for those wanting boards, what to do?

    I need some of your expertise. I have looked through the site and on the net and I can't seem to find anything definitive on where I can get a set of driver floorboards that will fit the Mk11 (86-93). There must be a a model or a means to fit boards to the Venture. I do have a set that fit the Mk1 but these project into the space required for the chin. Finding these on EBay is near a miracle. Does anyone have any experience on a "universal" set or a savy means of adapting a board set meant for a goldwing etc. to fit? Thanks guys!

    I am rebuilding a '92 Venture that needs a bit of work and one of the things I need is new set of dust seals (rubber boots) that sit on the top of the lower front fork tube. I went to the dealer and asked him to order me a set. I almost hit the floor when he told me the item was just over $100. The near heart attack came when he told me that was for just one. The part number is 3JJ-23191-00-00. The old ones on the bike are a small rubber boot that is about 2 inches tall with no clamps or fittings of any kind . However, the microfiche shows a large boot that resembles more the gaiters that were on the early British bikes. This didn't seem to make sense so I checked out the Yamaha web site and found that for 1986-89 there is a different picture and what appears to be the correct dust seal with part number 26H-23144-00-00 at $15.76 a piece. Now I am wondering if the information on the Yamaha site is correct. Did the 90-93 Ventures have a different boot? I do want to get the right part as the local dealer is unforgiving once the part is ordered. Thank you!

    The pictures are very much appreciated! Too bad it is not earlier in the season or I would put a complete step by step "carb manual" with photos labels and instructions together. This would make a great addition to the archives Thanks once again Dingy

    That was fast. Thank you. I don't want to appear ungrateful but to make it even more clearer I would like to see a couple of labelled photos of the actual carb. A complete series of photos showing a tear-down would be the Cadillac solution. The diagram and the articles are a bit superficial. Thank you again.

    I need you expertise! Could someone please direct me to a schematic that explains the workings of the first generation carbs. An exploded diagram for these particular models with an explanation would be helpful. I was hoping to find a thread with photos of a carb overhaul. I would like to understand a little bit more about what is going on. There are a lot of small holes and orifices that seem to serve similar roles. My current problem is as follows. I removed and cleaned the carbs and have cured my rough acceleration problem. Now, any adjustment to the pilot screw on just one carb makes no difference. Closing the pilot screw all the way on the other carbs causes the engine to stumble while any adjustment on this one carb makes no difference - the engine runs regardless of setting. I guess where I am a bit unsure is the role played by the other small orifices and their routing Thank you.

    If you're unsuccessfull, i have two TCI's for sale whch I am told are for an 83. see the thread on TCI numbers

    Here is why I am confused about the numbers and why I am not doubting what everyone says but... I took two TCI's off two bikes that were both 84's. Both bikes had the same TCI on them ie the 26H model whereas everyone says these were only on the 83's. The vacuum lines ran to the intake manifolds on both. I even checked the manufacturer;s sticker to be sure they were 84's and they were. So what gives?

    Does somebody know the numbers for the TCI"s and their corresponding years. I did do a search but found only Condor's reply giving the Yamaha part number. What I am after are the numbers on the sticker which of course do not correspond to the part number. the sticker has a number like: TYPE TID14-17 26H-10 or TYPE TID14-28 41R-10 (I believe this is for an 1985) Thank you for the help

    You haven't said how you made out with your carburators. PM me if you are still looking for a replacement set. I have a set that came off an '83 that ran nice till it became a parts bike. I haven't opened them up yet so I can't tell you if they need a set of diaphragms. If they do, please see lead web thread on new supplier for diaphragms @$15 each. good luck
