You know there never was a time when any branch of the service hasn't picked on the others, but when push came to shove, they all worked as one, USA! There were some days I always envied some one in another branch. I always regretted no giving the coast guard a shot, but I think my education at the time would have kept me out. I think they wanted at least 8th graders back then.

 You know there is a story why the A F boys and girls do exist. You also know that when it all started it was the ARMY AIR CORPS. Weren't no air force fly boys. But the Pilots got so uppity they refused to eat off metal trays and demanded china service----and now we have the Air Force. Damn I used to love being stationed on them air force bases and eating good food on china. :clap2:Now back when I went to jump school the army still had their own jump planes, c-119 and the otters, then the c- 123's and our own pilots still. Most of the troops back then when sent to a new station went by train and bus. Anybody remember that? Those train trips were a blast!

The one that trains all the rest of the branches. Army Airborne. If it weren't for the Pathfinders the rest of the tuff guys don't exist.

I forgot to mention not all 1800 or year models had that problem. I had one that did, and one that didn't.

I think they are called "all-ball" or something like that, who makes the tapered head bearing like Felix said. That has seemed to be the true cure for the wobble in the 1800's that have had the problem.

Yes sir, I like mine on the rocks! :rotf:And I know where they're at-----right in that little hole in the door with the thingy you push

If you ever get one of these you'll never be seen at home again. It's like owning your first hotrod and the fun never goes out of it. The Valk is a 6 carb, factory tweaked performance 1500, with a transmission that is geared for blowing away most everything from 0 - 100mph. They handle super well for a cruiser and touring cross country is nooooooooo problem.

Yup and yes sir, speed is getting better again.

Never met a person that owned a bunkhouse that didn't love it. That's about the best testimonial there is. :happy34:

We never put it away but we do put it up for a few days at a spell. Like now they just ran the snow plow and just up the hill there is a little short stretch that's about a 12% grade. Not me, no way, not today.

Wow. What does it do when you say the word SEX?

The economy is so bad no brands are selling worth crap. The 2010 I bought had been assembled by the dealer 8 months ago and has sat there. No change of course between the 2011 and the 2010 so there is not much reason to pay the higher price of the new one. Anyhow, as most of you are aware the Goldwing plant in Ohio is closing up and moving back to Japan. This is not a rumor but a fact and is in progress. Left over touring bikes will get cheaper here in the US and who knows what new stuff will be offered by 2012. My estimation is "not much". Times are not good and won't get better by next year and nothing indicates that is an incorrect assumption. I really do think that if you are in the market, the leftovers will get cheaper. Just more food for the pot here.

I've bought from them and their products are quite good. Service was good also and the flags don't fray after long use.

And may I enquire how much you run in the front shock?

I agree with Dan. One up with a little load then 25 to 35 in the rear and 4 or 5 in the front. More load, leave the front around 5 and move the rear up to 40 or 45. I did some testing one time on a long trip, avg about 450 miles per-day. One up with lots of stuff in bags and trunk but not really loaded heavy, I rode all day at 35 rear. Did that for about three days and then went to 45 rear. The first day my ass was real tender compared to 35. Second day I kept 45 lbs again and before the end of the day I had to move it back to 35 to finish the day. 45 made just too much jarring on the bumps. My weight at the time was about 240 lbs. OK, that's my story and I'm stickin to it, but to each his own. And yes, the 60 lb gage works just fine even for the front.

One heck of a good price. I've been trying to find one on ebay an others but can't seem to turn anything.

I didn't get none either. How come I didn't get free Viagra? Why am I always left out? Bummer.

I went to Jake Wilson and put in several searches. No light bars only passing lamps. That leave me with only OEM then I guess when it comes to a bar. Normal ending, sucky!
-
OK, I'll check the JakeWilson thread and make sure I get a spacer when I do it. Not to worry, I'll make sure I use a relay and the best switch money can buy, if it ain't over 99 cents. Thanks a bunch guys.
-
OK, I've done the thread search thing but want to get the most updated information out there. Where is the best place and who sells light bars for the RSV. I have a 2010 I'd like to put one on. I hope the OEM is not the only one around but that's why I'm asking. Thank you in advance for your help.

I wear a full face flip up and can tell you if you go down hard and look at all the scrapes and damage to your helmet, the part that is lower than your forehead hair line, or lower than your eyebrows takes one hell of a beating most of the time. Only wearing a half helmet is going to protect you from a top head blow. If you take a side blow or do a header into the ground you will loose a good part of your face layers. Ouch! Flip up work well and when its hot and you stop you just flip them up to get air until you move. Leaving your face shield open will feed you plenty of air supply on a hot day if needed. Not all flip ups are real expensive. Fulmer makes a good one under a hundred bucks and their are others under two hundred. Look up the stats on quietness ratings. Some are a lot quieter than others if you like to listen to music.

All I can say is, thank gawd I rode yesterday. It got to 38 with a heavy breeze but I put on all the electric stuff including gloves and rode around for hours with a big smile on my face while people in their cages looked at me like I was insane. Little did they know, I am, and they did not know I was in my own little heated world, warm like toast. Now today, nope, white and ice, so I am forced to sit by the fire and drink antifreeze all day, waiting for the standing rib roast to get finished. Boy, life sucks, don't it?
