I recently undertook the task of comfortizing the Corbin seat on my new (to me) 2000' RSV. As I mentioned on an earlier thread the "out of the box" Corbin seat just does'nt fit me. My investment was $120.00 and a days work but it was well worth it . I now have an "all day" seat and so does my passenger. I installed Two 5/8" saddleman gel pads into the molded foam and covered them with 1 yard of felt I purchased at Walmart. 3M adhesive spray was used to hold the felt in place while the leather cover was being installed and riveted. As you can see in the pics , I slightly reshaped the seat with a 4" angle grinder and added some dense upholstery foam (white) to the backrest portion of the driver seat to give the seat more low back support. The seat is very comfortable. I now sit slightly lower in the seat. My next project is to lower (cut down) my Show Chrome wind shield about 1 inch and the RSV will be ready for a road trip. http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk114/bigpine33/031.jpg?t=1296763489 http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk114/bigpine33/033.jpg?t=1296763653 http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk114/bigpine33/036.jpg?t=1296763733 http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk114/bigpine33/037.jpg?t=1296763801 http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk114/bigpine33/038.jpg?t=1296763877 http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk114/bigpine33/047.jpg?t=1296763952 GOD BLESS AMERICA " These are the times that try men's souls"

What I like most about this setup is it gives you a lot more lighting but still maintains that "clean" look. http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk114/bigpine33/familyphotoday09060.jpg?t=1295757040

Converted rear turn signals to stop, tail, and turn and installed light bar for $76.00 total. Got the kit at cruiser customizing and the light bar from JC Whitney. I wired the light bar to function as tail and stop. http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk114/bigpine33/016.jpg?t=1295578080

Just installed the 1.5" risers with no problems with the cables. Only took a few min. I did feel the need to install a rubber shim between the risers and the fairing. Best $65.00 you will spend. http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk114/bigpine33/007.jpg?t=1295577492

Hello everyone in the RSV family. I am a new owner (2000' #374) and a new member. I purchased the bike from an original owner in Deluth MN. I recently flew up to MN and loaded the Bike on a rental truck and trucked it to K.C. Misouri (below the snow line). From there i rode to my hometown of Mobile Al (1025 mi). I loved the ride and the bike. I was not impressed with the Corbin seat however. Some people rave over Corbin seats but I guess they do not fit everyone the same.To each his own. The first thing I did was add a light bar in the front and rear and convert the rear turn signals to stop and tail and turn with a kit from cruiser customizing. Next I installed 1.5 " risers. All was money well spent. The wife and I are planning a ride to California in June so My next project will be the seat. I will either modify the Corbin or purchase a stock seat and modify it . Maybe someone on this foruum would like to work up a trade of some kind ? The second order of business is storage. Has anyone tried one of the 18" x 30" cooler racks from Rivco ? I would rather not trailer with the bike if I do not have to but trailering is not out of the question. The plan is to trailer the bike to Clayton NM. and park the truck there at the KOA ($5.00 per day aint bad). We will ride from Clayton to CO Springs (can't wait to smell the Russian olives) the first day to visit our son at the Air Force Academy. From there we will ride west through CO , Utah,Nevada, and in to Sacramento. We will visit the Redwoods, Pacific coast highway,Napa valley, Lake T. , Death V. and the sequoias. We will take a more southernly route on the return trip. This will be our first two up trip. We did Yellowstone in 08', Grand Canyon in 09', and Big Bend in 10' on My Vtx 1300 and her VSTAR 1100. I look forward to sharing information with the RSV family. Any help that will improve our riding experience will be appreciated. http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk114/bigpine33/007.jpg?t=1294859017
