I have a shortie on my 06 and I love it for the summer. Iput the stock one back on when the weather gets colder.it is more comfortable riding in cold weather with the stock one. I did notice more bugs hitting my glasses this summer though.

I was there with 3 Buds on 7-23 and spent the rest of the week around there. Came home via Blue ridge Pkw and skyline dr. awsome riding and beautiful weather.

Congrats on the bike, I have an 06 with 13k on it now and it runs awsome. Just got back from a 2k trip and rode it like I stole it. Nothing but performance out of it. I had a problem with the radio crackling a lot but found the wire going to it was streched pretty tight. This started to act up after riding the Dragon and several other roads around Deal's Gap. Good luck and don't let any grass grow under those wheels. When you need tires go for the Avons.

I was at the Dragon with sveral friends on 6/23 with my midnight around noon, spent 4 days around that part of the country and never duplicated a road. Awsome riding and very biker friendly people.

I cleaned many fuel tanks on antique tractors. Get the major portion out with any of the solvents mentioned above. Afte that use HOT soapy water and let dry. If you can get some #6 shot for shotgun shells this works well. a piece of tape over the shutoff valve opening keeps then from running out. Using some air once in a while lets you inspect inside with a light. If there is any rust I recommend a gas tank lined be applied after it is cleaned and washed out adn dried thoroughly. You will get a work out by shaking to work the shot around. Good Luck

A couple of us from the Pocono area will be heading down south on Sat. 6/21 to ride the Tail Of The Dragon. We plan on riding it mid week and being tourists around NC Tenn and VA the rest of the time. No solid plans yet, but we will stay out 8 or 9 days.

Nice color good luck with it, if you could only get the service out of it that you get from the 2 wheeler!!!!!

I just put a set of Avons on mine 2 weeks ago, stock size. Used Dyna Beads for balancing. There is such a big difference over the stock Dunloflops. Only got 11k miles on rear, dunloflop it felt like riding on a solid tire and the wear pattern was awful. Handeling is much better and small road cracks don't throw the bike around, with Avons. I am well pleased with them so far.

When I put mine on I did'nt disconect anything, just moved the cable out of a bracket I think. Had mine about a year now and no problems. Roy -
Craig sounds like a plan, see you at sheetz around 10:30. Roy

Hi Craig I live not too far from the race track at Long Pond. I'm off the junction of 115 and 940. It would be great if we could get out to the west a ways to be more convient for Earl. I am about to leave for a car-motorcycle show locally but Sunday would be good for me. You could come up rt 61 to 15 north and meet up at wal mart just north of Lewisburg, it is on the left plenty of places to go from there. RT 15 south is at the 210 exit for Earl comming east on I-80. Maybe you could forward this to Earl or maybe he will read it before . later Roy

Seems to me I raised you guys. How about a 51 ford Convertable with an AM radio? Getting out of the military the year the Beetles hit the states. Ed Sullivan show giving all the kids a chance to make it big, the Brooklyn Dodgers in the world series? I got to stop now I know a lot of people don't like old people, they think they know to much. Pay Attention to your Suspension Air Pressure!
Roy Hoffman replied to V7Goose's topic in Watering Hole
I got chrome valve extensions and put them on each side of fork. I also got a 0-30# pump with a check valve so I don't lose any pressure after pumping to 5#. I did the same on rear shock and use same pump on it, works for me. -
Greeeeeat!!!! Glad to hear and if we don't get an invite at least have a dance for us and an extra big hug to a wonderful supportive person. Good luck. Roy

Just a short note of thanks for all you are doing. My stepson is in Afganastan now, but just got an email from him not to send any more packages (to him) because he may not get them. Benefits of being a short timer(for the 4th tour in the sand pile). I know it makes them feel good with the support from home !!!! I will send Russell a money order toward the project, though. Happy holidays all. Roy
