They are really nice bikes but the lack the one essential element of happy riding.....the cassette tape player. Whatever are you going to do without it. Good luck I hear they are great motorcycles.

Don't want to start a fight here as this is a good subject and something we all need to know. I spent 25 years as a fire fighter, retiring as a captain, and worked on the ambulance for 9 of those years. With regards’ to the "Good Samaritan Laws" you are only protected up to the point of your training. If you aren't certified or trained to do something then don't do it, you will be liable for any further injury to a victim. If you aren’t a heart surgeon don’t attempt to open the patient’s chest. I realize that is the extreme but you get the idea. If you want to help then get proper training to help otherwise call 911 and get out of the way. Just my 2 cents worth.

Last Sept I asked my wife, Kerrie, if she wanted to spend a month on the RSV going on Run For The Wall again or would she rather go on a 15 day Panama canal cruise so I guess we are off the FL to start our trip. Cruising is a great wat to loose some money :mo money:and gain so weight. Have fun.

Now it's time to buy some safety chrome.....:mo money: Welcome and enjoy the ride.

Venture handle bars to RSTD handle bars the easy way
SMSgt replied to Bubber's topic in Watering Hole
You know what I think I'll do.....I think I'll just contact Barnetts and talk to them about this they are the experts and I can just tell them that I want cables for my Venture whatever number of inches I want over stock. Then there won't be any issues, that's I did with my Road Star and things just worked out great and there was no guessing.:mo money:- 19 replies

I have a good friend on the wall he was KIA Feb 1968. I can't be in the presence of the wall and not feel more emotion than I can contain. I have been to DC on several occasions and to the Moving Wall and I have the same over whelming emotions that I can't contain. Thanks

Yeah those girls putting on their underware in the water tank. Now I could enjoy helping them get dressed or otherwise. What a pleasent thought. Thanks I needed that.

Mrs Howell was old then, really old. Now I'm not all that young as it is but I think of how old she is now and that simply scares me, I was always more of a Mary Ann type of man myself,

Venture handle bars to RSTD handle bars the easy way
SMSgt replied to Bubber's topic in Watering Hole
Doesn't the the 1D6 indicate that it is for a RSTD and the 4XY mean that it is for an RSV? And wouldn't that mean that they might possibly be different lengths? I checked on Barnett's site and there are different numbers for the RSTD and RSV cables. Just wondering:whistling:- 19 replies

If you ever get the chance to attend a Gathering of the Guard, the annual PGR rally, and if they have the traveling wall there they do a salute for each rider that wants to. You are allowed to ride your motorcycle right up to the wall and salute it. It is rather moving. I’ve had the opportunity to visit the one in DC several times and it still is more humbling than I can ever explain.

Venture handle bars to RSTD handle bars the easy way
SMSgt replied to Bubber's topic in Watering Hole
I saw some cables on ebay for a pretty good price that were 3" over stock and SS. I would have bought them but I think I might need longer because of the risers. When I put apes on my Road Star I just took the stock hoses to the local hose builder and had SS hoses made and told them how long I wanted and they matched the length plus my added length requirement. I will do that again with the RSV.- 19 replies

Venture handle bars to RSTD handle bars the easy way

I'm doing the same conversion except I'm using 1 1/2" risers. Can anyone (Kreg) offer any help as far as doing the conversion with the risers? I will be selling my stock bars (usedcyclesales) when this is done but that won't be for a while as I'm still in the information stage.- 19 replies

I bought my RSV because I liked RSV's. I looked as wings and liked them too but I just prefered the RSV. Nothing scientific or interesting I just simply liked the RSV better. Not that the GW isn't a good scoot I just decided to spend my money on the Venture. Each to his own. But then again I like Dynabeads too.

With all you guys getting rid of your risers, does anyone want to sell me a pair cheap?

OK guys so I'm wanting to change my lights to LED also. Can someone give me a reliable source and part numbers for tail light and front and rear turn/running lights? I would prefer a red for the tail light because I would like to go to a clear tail light and clear rear turn signal lenses. Thanks Kent

I've seen one floating around on Craigs list for a black GL1800. Too good to be true. No I didn't get excited about buying it but I did write the thieves letters telling them that I was going to report them to every law enforcement organization I could find that might enforce that kind activity.
