  1. You may want to spell check
  2. I used Plastex also known as PlastiFix to repair any of my cracks. I even used it to join a bottom and top half of two different side fairings to make one good one. I embed a couple of layers of drywall tape as I build it up to improve strength (I add drywall tape to JB weld sometimes for the same reason). Any way the repair was strong enough that when the bike dropped of the work table this summer, 10 years later there was absolutely no indication of failure and to this day no buddy has been able to tell were the joint is (I'm not even sure I can tell exactly anymore and I did the job).
  3. Well I actually posted this last night but some reason it did not show up, so here we go again. Got to Paul and Mary,s about 12:30. Planned on getting there early but Fri night my exahaust broke on the way home from work so I spent the morning fixing it. So on that note I am sorry I missed you Dogman and Bernie if she was with you. I did however in true Bennink family ancestral tradition show up intime for FOOD. And good food it was too well seasoned with the addition of old and new friends. I was happy to see as well, when I got there that the Ladys did not give all my share of hugs away to Marcarl, that boy gets greedy some times. A big thanks to Paul and Mary for there hospitality and work in setting this up again and looking forward to next year. After leaving I headed south to Rock Point were Marca and Carl were camping were I enjoyed another fine meal (who would have thought chicken sausages could be so good. They were from Carl's fine meats so if you don't like or think you don't like chicken sausages yo got to try these, oh yeh they were good. After dinner a short walk in Carl's P/U truck to Marca's brothers camp site for fireside relaxation and finally back on the bike arriving at home around 11:30 PM in fine shape. Sorry I did not make out to your site Dogman for after dinner drinks but I guess even a Dutchman can only handle so much freebees. I'll have to work on that. Well I little long winded I know but since I did hardly any talking all day long I guess I needed to make up for it. Once again thanks Paul and Mary for another successful gathering and Thanks Marca you too Carl for a the campsite hospitality and great meal.
  4. So out of curiosity how many have run the Michelin commander's on 1st Gens. I ask this because I hear a lot of good things about both Avons and Michelins on Second gens But I know of at least 4 1st Gens that had handling issues with the Avons, specially with high speed stability.
  5. Ive run 2 sets of the Dunlap E3 and was very pleased with them got amazing mileage on them. Currant set is the new E4 (which replaces the E3) and so far are working very well. Tried the Avons but pulled back off because they gave my bike one bad tail wag at 60 mph (100 Kph) and up. apparently I am not the only 1st gen to have this happen. To my understanding it does not effect 2nd gens in this way however.
  6. I don't change mine until I start to feel something is off.
  7. This could actually work. Over to Grez007 for Lunch. followed by a nice ride to Rock point for Dinner then a after dinner ride to Sand Hill Park for drinks
  8. Well Seems to me the last time a Scotsman and Dutchman got together they Squabbled over the one penny change. they tugged so hard back and forth that the penny turned into copper wire. Now I is far to young to remember the incident but I am pretty sure that,s how it was. Now Marcarl is plenty old enough to remember. Its possible he may even be the Dutchman involved.
  9. Hey Bob your waterfall ROCKS.Ican tell you must have been pretty well STONED when you built it.
  10. -2
  11. I would have to wonder how much weight would be adding to your neck.
  12. Decisions decisions PLus..... I have not seen Dogmans menu yet either:whistling:
  13. Sounds like since I am batching it for the next month I may have to raid a couple camp grounds, harass some of my closest friends:bighug: and mooch some free meals :fatsmiley:oh and
  14. Unfortunately Texas is too far for me to go but it sure sounds like an event I could get into since I love motorcycles and camping and combining them as well.
  15. Does this mean your putting Tweaks out to pasture?
  16. BTW Carl.
  17. Hey who is this guy? Were did he pop up from:think: Oh wait must be a venture rider....I hear they tend to pop up out of the woodwork at the mare mention of Ice cream.
  18. just simply teasing you with it:essen_024:
  19. Also glad you are no worse for wear. Road rash is no pleasure but definitely the better of some alternative results. Don't know what you folks do down there for marking deer crossing areas but up here we have taken to using picture signs instead of written signs. Seems to make a difference since we have come to the conclusion that deer can't read.
  20. Well of course I'm shaking. What a foolish question from one Dutchman to another. After your previous post I was all worried and had to recheck my spelling of check in case I did spell it cheque . But I am ok now
  21. Well I suppose Marcarl is a bit disappointed now, but then that is his own fault. After all he is Dutch too and should know better than to jump to this sort of conclusion when the statement is coming from another Dutchman. So in retrospect I am unable to feel sorry for him in this particular case and offer no apology.
  22. Well if Carl is going to be there guess I best attend as well. After all somebody has to keep that boy in check.
  23. Definitely open to the Idea. Marked it on my calendar just in case.
  24. Ok so if you go back to my initial post 1st I use the pressurized set up in order to duplicate the 2.5 PSI delivery pressure of the fuel pump. The hose connection at the fire extinguisher is connected to an internal tube which goes to the bottom of the inside of the cylinder. the schrader valve pressurizes the cylinder causing the fuel to go up the tube and supply pressure to the carb at 2.5 PSI. 2nd the level is checked by measuring the distance from the top of the fuel level in the clear tube to the center of the diaphragm (In My case the center line is actually marked on the float bowl). This the fuel level should be 14 mm +/- 0.5 mm below the center line. and yes you do have to remove the bowel to make an adjustment but since the carb is on the bench its no big deal and I feel this method best duplicates actual operating conditions of the carb.
  25. Here is the setup I used to wet set my carbs sitting level on the bench and I am very pleased with the results. https://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?86821-home-made-set-up-for-wet-setting-floats-on-the-bench
