700r4 was ran up to 1992 and did not use much in the way of elctronics. the electronics were introduced later when it was renamaed 4L60-E . you still will require some speacial tools but overall they are not that difficult.

As long as they have been stored inside in a cool area and not exposed the sun or high heat temperatures I cant see there being any problem with using them.

Ive seen it happen maney times on first run tires one being my own. It had a slow leak and I didnt stay on top of it Finally it just split all the way around. In any case the main thing here is that no one got hurt.

That type of side wall failure is typical of a tire that has either been running under inflated or carried to heavy a load the side wall flex's too much over heats and lets go.

35 Years ago i had a similar incident, 2 cars were beside me in the lane next to me when car B decided to pass car A and pulled into my lane as if I wasn't even there squeezing right between me and car A. Fortunatly nothing happend. Well almost nothing my buddy who was behind me decided to catch up and pass car B and in doing so tossed out a hand full nuts which pinged of the car's rad and windshield ( he tended to carry them in his pocket for just such occasions).

Last night my son and his fiance tied the knot. The girl he married was as beatifull as the angle she is.From day one three years ago his bride had made herself a part of the familly and almost instantly became like daughter to us,so welcoming her as part of the familly was easy seeing as how she already had become a part long ago. Of course my son could not for go getting me in trouble with my wife one more time. He invited me to go outside for a drink and a cigar. I am not or ever have been a smoker and my wife detests smoking and my wife caught me smoking, she was not pleased to say the least.Other than that the banquit was great excelent food, good music and a wonderfultime was had by all.

You wouldn't dare put old faithful out would you ? what lack of gratitude. The new scoot is a beauty though and we all know there comes a time in some riders lives when all show is more important then all go. Just don't forget old faithful I'm sure she still wants to stretch her legs once in awhile.

As long as we know were the dairy queens are what more do we need to know. -
Ive only ever been on one group ride (always rode either solo or with 1 or 2 buddys) and that was at Marcarls meet and eat. I was glad that the group captian asked if anyone was familiar with or new to group riding. He then went on to explain how they like to do things and the various signals used on down the line to to keep everyone in the know as to what was ahead. It made for a very enjoyable, safe ride. It never hurts to make sure everyone is on the same wavelength.

You hang in there girl and remember you cannot dispute what the skid and scrape marks have to say about the incident. Just like in my accident last year they tried to hold me partially responsible, but the skid and scrape marks blew holes in every lie the other party tried.

speaking for myself I would have to say no, it never really ever occured to me. but now that you have brought it up I certianly will.

Since I was kinda thinking the same thing and I am sure others have as well I would say that is a great Idea. Might I also suggest that it include interesting short jaunts as well as long trips. Assuming of course if this idea got of the ground

I wear a pair of snowmobile bib type pants, a fleece type pull over with a collar that zips up to form a warm turtle neck, covered with a leather wintercoat. My gloves are dakota leather thinsulate snowmobile gloves with ample cuffs to go ver the jacket sleeves. and a silk balclava. keeps me very warm even in freezing temperatures. Today I was out for a 6 hour ride and never once got cold. BTW it is just as important to drink plenty of fluids when riding in the cold as it is when riding on hot days the wind can still dehydrate your body.

If you have to pump the brakes both on wet or dry roads to get them to grab you could have A: a leak somewere or B: air in the lines. If they grab ok on dry roads but not on wet days try changing the pads they could either be glazed or the type of material the pads are made of is too hard. If you do change the pads it would not hurt to scuff up the discs a bit with emery cloth either.- 9 replies
