I used a relay and separate fuse as well . but I used power from the high beam to control the positive side of the relay so they would go off and on with my high beams and rather then run the negative side directly to ground ,I placed a separate switch on the relay ground wire . This way by switching the ground off and on I can turn them off independently of the high beams if need be

these are all good suggestions in the case of the first one I agree but I prefer to go a step further. Remove the wheel hubs and bearings from the axle and measure from the end of each axle end to make sure it is centered to the body. Then measure from the center of each spindle end to the center of the hitch, the measurement should be the same on each side, the reason I prefer to do this with the hobs off is because it is more accurate then by checking with the wheels and hub on and it is a good time to check and repack your bearings while you have it apart. also check all fastners and u-bolts to make sure they are secure, and your axle is not moving around.

Tongue wieght is a common cause but so is weight distribution load heavy items down low and light bulky items on top.A trailer that is too top heavy is as dangerous as one that does not have enough tongue weight. PS I prefer to substitute extra drinks in place of the ice:thumbsup:

Dunlop E3 question
saddlebum replied to Dexx's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
here is an e-mail I recieved from dunlop when I e-mailed them and made an inquiry about a front tire for my 1st gen Quote: Ben - Thank you for the additional information. We are sorry to inform you that we are unable to bring this tire to the market at this time. As you probably already know, Dunlop maintains the highest standards of product performance are we are not satisfied with the performance of this tire on the older bikes which use this tire size. We will continue to develop this tire, but unfortunately, it will not be available for this summer's riding season. We are very sorry for the inconvenience caused by this situation -

This morning on the Highway , I looked over to my left and there was a Woman In a brand new Cadillac Doing 90 km-per hour With her Face up next t o her Rear view mirror Putting on her eyeliner. I looked away For a couple seconds, and when I looked back she was Halfway over in my lane, Still working on that makeup. As a man, I don't scare easily. But she scared me so much; I dropped My electric shaver , Which knocked The donut Out of my other hand. In all The confusion of trying To straighten out the car Using my knees against The steering wheel, It knocked My cell phone Away from my ear Which fell Into the coffee Between my legs, Splashed, And burned Big Jim and the Twins, Ruined the darn phone, Soaked my trousers, And disconnected an Important call. Stupid women drivers

700r4 was ran up to 1992 and did not use much in the way of elctronics. the electronics were introduced later when it was renamaed 4L60-E . you still will require some speacial tools but overall they are not that difficult.

As long as they have been stored inside in a cool area and not exposed the sun or high heat temperatures I cant see there being any problem with using them.

That type of side wall failure is typical of a tire that has either been running under inflated or carried to heavy a load the side wall flex's too much over heats and lets go.

35 Years ago i had a similar incident, 2 cars were beside me in the lane next to me when car B decided to pass car A and pulled into my lane as if I wasn't even there squeezing right between me and car A. Fortunatly nothing happend. Well almost nothing my buddy who was behind me decided to catch up and pass car B and in doing so tossed out a hand full nuts which pinged of the car's rad and windshield ( he tended to carry them in his pocket for just such occasions).
