  1. Well you may not have upset her before but now you have gone and publicly underestimated her wonderful sense of humour. just keep on diggin away Bob, yup keep on diggin.
  2. STREET LEGAL BUMPER CARS It's easy for a gear-head to be discouraged about the state of the world, especially in times of Carpocalypse and Cash for Clunkers. But occasionally, a bright light of awesome renews the spirit. Road-legal bumper cars do just that. Yes, you read that right; these little beasties are street legal. EitherKawasaki or Honda motorcycle engines for power, and retired vintage bumper car bodies - transformed into the most awesome form of mini-car we've ever seen. There's seven of these little monsters floating aroundCalifornia, and they're all the creation of one man, Tom Wright, a gyro-gear loose builder on the outskirts of San Diego who figured the leftovers of the Long Beach Pike amusement park needed a more dignified end than the trash heap. They were originally powered by Harley engines but rattled like heck and Tom replace them with Honda or Kawasaki 750's... and a couple have been 'measured' [not run at] theoretically as capable of 160 MPH which is terrifyingly fast in machines with such a short wheelbase. Doesn't mean we would totally rock one should the opportunity present itself. In fact, we now have only one burning desire, to see these things running a go kart track with a clown in the drivers seat.
  3. no way no how no pics no believe
  4. lets see its been and will continue sunny all week. rain on the weekend and sunny again all next week. Looks like a lousy weekend for riding. just not fair. Oops I'm sorry Margaret you were saying. On a serious note hope things start improving soon and does not get worse for you down there.
  5. what no icecream
  6. I admit it I posted one in the joke section which may have crossed the line. I pondered sending it to a moderator 1st to see if it was or wasn't, but after long deliberation I decided to:confused24: gamble and post it. If it get's pulled I will not be offended, I will simply have a better understanding as to were the line is.
  7. That Yammer Dan can pass a 2nd gen whilst pushing it with 2 bad legs really does not give a 2nd gen something to brag about.:rotfl::rotfl:put your foot in your mouth that time didn't ya :bang head: PS Just got told today by a young mechanic I work with I do dam good for 52 yr old, after jumping a 3 ft rail. shocked him when i told him I was 56
  8. :sign yeah that: yeah and several rinse cycles to get the cascade out. ( In case your wondering why cascade and not regular dishwashing detergent its because cascade does not foam up )
  9. So what youre saying is we can all blame you if this rumor turns out to be true-----:depressed:
  10. Funny I'm 56 and most times I feel like I'm 20 speacially when I am on my bike.
  11. put me down for 2
  12. second mug just arrived today thanks Don:thumbsup:
  13. Wow 16 and you chose a 1st gen:thumbsup2: Venture Royale. That alone already makes you smarter than the average 16 year old biker. Also takes Strong Character to walk your own path and not follow the crowd. I comend you, Just remember she's most awkward when she aint moveing under her own power and never giver her the chance to lean away from you when your walkin her
  14. The splitter is only there to be able to run two devices off of one antenna . It is actually a compromise. A separate antenna for each (and get rid of the box ) is an improvement to say the least.
  15. Be sure to let me know if you do. I live only a couple blocks from there........so I can run and hide:stickpoke:
  16. Silly Man, cleaning the brakes is the first step to doing any job well. :bang head: Thats why Brake clean is always the first thing on your grocery list :rotfl:
  17. A year or so ago Cycle City, the Yamaha dealer closed it doors after being in bussness about 40 years. that really sucked as far as ordering any parts without going a fair piece out of town. Well this week I drive by the local Honda / Kawasaki dealer Burlington Cycle, and don't they have a new Yamaha sign up. Yup they have added Yamaha to there inventory. Burlington Cycle also have been there for many years, and are also great folks to deal with, so I am glad they were able to add the Yamha line to their store.
  18. working fine for me. BTW nice job. Oh yeh according to my 1988-89 shop manual XVZ13DU and XVZ13DW are pretty much the same. It seems the U =1988 and the W=1989. Ironically The cover say's 1988-89 XVZ13DU and XVZ13DW, while the material inside refers to XVZ13S / DS which is actually a 1986
  19. Yammer ain't got a boring BONE in his body...LOL:rotfl:
  20. My self I like to take some tools extra bulbs inc one for the headlight, a 1st aid kit and some raingear. I also take along a dry change of clothes in a quick grab bag separate from any other luggage i happen to have and pack it were it is easy to get to. To save from having to dig down into the bottomn of my saddle bags i always pack my small tool kit right on top of everything. As far as the route goes pick what feels good. Myself iI prefer to take the scenic routes. for the distance your talking I would suggest doing it in 2 days there and 2 days back and enjoy the ride.
  21. What you crying about....the best cheese cake in the world used to be 3 hours ride from here....now its gonna get wasted on a bunch of Rebels......
  22. Could you start over... I missed the part right after...How many VR members does it take to change a light bulb?
  23. Very nice job
