They were gauges installed at the factory in some cars and were called motor minders. The main purpose at the time was for a driver to be able to conserve fuel by watching the gauge, and keeping the needle in the green zone during acceleration. This would be between 10 and 17 inches of vacume. If you stepped to hard on the gas pedal the guage would drop below 10 inches, indicating that you were using too much gas. It did however have an added benifit for those with mechanical know how. A person who understood engines could tell what was wrong with an engine based on wether the needle held steady or fluctuated, was abnormally low or high. You would be able to pick out things such as leaking or sticking valves, incorrect ignition timing, intake or vacume leaks and even a restricted exhaust etc..

You sure its not a colman cartop carrier converted into a trailer? If so would that not make it a home made trailer and allow you to register it as such?

On that model there are 2 pos cable's to the battery connected one on top of the other. After a while the cables develop a bad connection between them. Every one tends to clean the cables but never fully separate the two positve cables. Secondly groves tend to wear where the raised tabs from the one cable wear holes into the other cable. Remove the cables, separate them and clean all surfaces. When you put them back together slip a stainless steel washer between the terminals to get a tighter connection. I have seen maney alternators and starters, replaced unnessarily because of this simple little issue

Personally I don't think there is any comparison between a 1st gen and a GW. 1st gen is more comfortable, has more leg room and the handling of a 1st gen is way more agile then a wing. The wings handling actually was the very 1st thing that turned me off, 2nd came the lack of room for a tall fellows legs.

I have one in my trunk as well . I also put one in each lower corner of the lift window on my truck cap so it lights up the area around my tailgate -
Who will / will not allow their kids to have a motorcycle?
saddlebum replied to Sunrayman's topic in Watering Hole
In my mind a motorcycle is somewhat like a gun. You can't teach gun safety by putting blinders on your kids, and wrapping them in a cloak of ignorance. Sooner or later they will be exposed to one, and the proper knowledge of safe and proper handling is their best protection. They say you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink. Well the reverse is also true, Keeping a horse away from water does not stop him from getting thirsty. -
Yes to all for all of the above reasons. I actually drive my truck as though every cage out there is trying to run me off the road.
