After all my hard work and even leaving Carl's venture in early to to get all the work done , I have to say I failed. got the drywall done and painted in the three story stair well. but did not get finished building the oak hand raill. Fortunatly my Daughters wedding was still a great success everyone had a great time eating drinking and dancing. This morning we had a big after wedding breakfast, and tonight we had a big after wedding dinner. As speeches go they were all short and sweet and as per normal, each talker managed to put someone on the spot, except me I some seemed to put myself on the spot (guess this is why my lowest grade in school was public speaking. My wife had the shortest speach in history. she got up and said My daughter was absolutly beautiful and through out the night she made sure she spent time with each person that was there. My son in law wanted to know how long before he could start borrowing tool's- - Hard to believe:think: Actually my new son in law is a great guy and I could not have picked any one better for my daughter. I know he will treat her right. trouble is my wife will start expecting the same from me. She is the type of person that thinks you can teach old dogs new tricks.

Please read this; our duty to react is in our hands!..Sharon K When the Canadian dollar was low in value, foreign companies bought up most of the businesses in Canada at garage sale prices. Foreign owners have closed down the canning factories in Exeter (north of London, ON) and in the Niagara area. As a result the local farmers have no place to sell their produce or have it preserved. In the soft fruit producing area of Niagara, farmers have ripped out their peach trees because other than road side stands who will buy their fruit? The big companies have already decided and publicly announced that it is cheaper to buy canned peaches from Greece, so that is what you will see in stores. The farm land is being sold to developers and turned into big house and condo developments. The canning factory in Exeter was eventually taken over by a co-op of former employees and they will try to make a go of it but it sounds kind of shaky. The politicians stood by and did nothing. Garlic is no longer produced in Canada because it comes from China at a price cheaper than the cost of production in Canada. That's all you see in stores and there is no Canadian produced garlic to choose from even at a higher price. Maybe the high taxes in Canada have something to do with it. A small but determined radical group trying to unionize farm labour didn't help matters either. Sure all these trade agreements bring us low cost material goods, but if everyone is out of a job who is going to buy these products? Good luck trying to find 100% Canadian products in stores. The only way to find such a thing is to deal directly with the farmer and leave out the retailer. "FOOD" for thought. More information on this subject..... I WAS BUYING FOOD THE OTHER DAY AT THE COUNTRY MARKET. ON> THE LABEL OF SOME PRODUCTS IT SAID 'FROM CHINA '. FOR EXAMPLE THE "OUR FAMILY" BRAND OF THE MANDARIN ORANGES SAYS RIGHT ON THE CAN FROM CHINA I WAS SHOCKED!! SO FOR A FEW MORE CENTS I BOUGHT THE LIBERTY GOLD BRAND OR THE DOLE IS FROM CAL . Another example was in canned mushrooms. No-Name brand came From Indonesia . Next to them were President Choice brand. Produce of Canada !! The P. C. Went into my grocery bag. TAKES FOREVER JUST TO BUY FOOD AND DO LABEL READING !! Are we Canadians and Americans as dumb as we appear --- Or --- is it that we just do not think? While the Chinese, knowingly and intentionally, export inferior and even toxic products and dangerous toys and goods to be sold in North American markets, the media wrings its hands and criticizes the Bush Administration (now Obama Administration) (and the Harper Government!) for perceived errors. Yet 70% of North Americans believe that the trading privileges afforded to the Chinese should be suspended. Well, duh... why do you need the government to suspend trading privileges? SIMPLY DO IT YOURSELF, CANADA/AMERICA!! Simply look on the bottom of every product you buy, and if it says 'Made in China ' or 'PRC' (and that now includes Hong Kong ) simply choose another product, or none at all. You will be amazed at how dependent you are on Chinese products, and you will be equally amazed at what you can do without. Who needs plastic eggs to celebrate Easter? If you must have eggs, use real ones and benefit some North American farmer. Easter is just an example, the point is do not wait for the government to act. Just go ahead and assume control on your own. THINK ABOUT THIS, If 200 million North Americans refuse to buy just $20 each of Chinese goods, that's a billion dollar trade imbalance resolved in our favour . . . Fast!! The downside? Some Canadian/American businesses will feel a temporary pinch from having foreign stockpiles of inventory. Wahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! The solution? Let's give them fair warning and send our own message. Most of the people who have been reading about this matter are planning on implementing this on June 4, and continue it until July 4. That is only one month of trading losses, but it will hit the Chinese for 1/12th of the total, or 8%, of their North American exports. Then they will at least have to ask themselves if the benefits of their arrogance and lawlessness were worth it... "Remember: June 4 to July 4 " EVEN BETTER. . . START NOW! Send this to everybody you know. Let's show them that we are intelligent Canadians and Americans, And NOBODY can take us for granted. If we can't live without cheap Chinese goods for one month out of our lives, WE DESERVE WHAT WE GET! Pass it on, North America !

Why Reverse A Rear Tire When Put On The Front?
saddlebum replied to GlennTuc's topic in The Darksiders
A simple way of putting it, is that the rear tire pushes, while the front tire is pushed. The tread on the rear tire is designed to bite while pushing. a front tire is designed to push through, while being pushed, opposing jobs you might say, and this is why you would reverse the rear tire when mounted on the front. -
I was at the bike dealer today and met a very interesting couple. They rode 2 up all over the world on a gold wing . He gave me his website. Check it out. http://www.wheezyrider.com/

The mighty vac is an excellent tool for bleeding brakes. the only thing better is to use a windsheild washer pump. 1st Drain all the fluid out of the system then using the little pump. pump fluid directly into the bleeder screw from the bottle until the master is full to its proper level. Voila, you just filled your system with fresh clean fluid and bled all in one easy step.

Guess I am one of the lucky ones too. Although she did try to change me in the beginning, but in the end decided to accept me for who I am. When I first decided to get back into motor bikes, She was not pleased. But now if its nice out and I leave the house without the motorbike she tells me it cried all the while I was gone and I had better make amends and take it out for a ride before the sun goes down. We have been together 32 years, she does her thing , I do my thing. and then we do our thing.

Saddly looks like I will be dropping out of going to Freebirds, even had the time booked off. However both my Birthday and Fathers day fall in that time frame and my five kids have made plans for me which I am told I cannot refuse. Not that anyone would ever want to refuse when their Kids want to do something special for them. It actually makes me feel very special. I will miss meeting all the people I have yet to meet and re-meeting all the ones I have already met. For those that are going I hope the weather is great and you all have a good time. Most of all stay safe.

We are always told that a car has an engine not a motor. This based on the fact that a motor runs on electricity and an engine is a based on internal combustion. So why is it called a motorcycle not an enginecycle

In the US can the familly not lay or persue some sort of wrongfull death or motor manslaughter charges? Its the texting that scares me the most largly because its done the most by the most inexperienced drivers, or weman that are busy running around shopping and multitasking, trying to get everything done at once. Here in Ontario since they banned cellphone use while driving, people have taken to texting more, thinking they can fool the police. In the mean time their eye,s are down. Badly as this sounds it would appear that taliking on the cell phone would be the lesser of two evils, at least the persons eyes are looking forward instead of down, other than when dialing the number, which could be done holding the phone up in front of you within your line of sight. I was once rearended while driving my truck by a girl texting, and all I could think was good thing I was not on my motorbike.

probably a blond driver:big-grin-emoticon: My cousin once came to visit and stayed with us. She decided to go for a walk and so taking the hoyuse key she locked the door. Not knowing if it was the only key to the house or not she hid the key and stuck a note on the door letting us know were she hid the key. Yes she is blond.

Thirty five years ago I worked for a company that used to haul bunker oil and any time they had a spill into lakes or rivers. the cleanup up crew always used hay just like in the video and always seemed to work. They would spread it out, leave it for a couple day,s or up to a week and then scoop it up.
