Personally I think the above statemant was a little harsh. No one knows everything and one of the purposes of this site is to share information and educate each other. The question was a valid question from a member, looking for answers and opinions. What was wrong with that. Regarding these lights I do believe its a bit of a catch 22. Yes they make you more noticable and save your hide every now and then, and we are all in favour of keeping our hides. Yet at the same time I have been in group rides were I have found the flickering of these lights in my rear view very distracting, and can well imagine some one in a cage being distracted to the point of of not paying attention to what is in front of him, which could easily be another motorcycle. Just saying. As far as my own opinion goes, I am still sitting on the fence on this one.

Nope!! Big Tom is pretty much of a stickler about having national icecream day only once a year. Such a stickler as a matter of fact that he spends every day until then practicing his ice cream eating technique, just so he is in good form for the big event.:banana:

Even better store it in the fridge.

Spark plug wires can also be an issue. try firing it up at night or in a dark location and with a spray bottle, spray the plug wires. look for electrical arcing or as we sometimes call it christmas lights. If no arcing is visible, wires are ok, if visible arcing is seen anywere along plug wires or boots replace them.

It does not work that way. Regardless of wether you struck the vehicle or not . Wether there were witnesses or not. All the drive has to say is. Gee I didn't even see him , and he is off the hook.

You can't possibly be talkin the same trouble making Margret the rest of us know . All the more reason in my mind for the Muffinman to get back and excert some control.

Sometimes that can be caused by metalic or ceramic linings. Both CRC and PERMATEX make a product called disc brake quiet (I prefer the paste version over the spray). Remove the pads and coat the back side of the pads. allow time for the product to get semi dry or tacky and then reinstal the pads. I use it on almost every brake job I do from motorcycles to heavy trucks.

I run a program called pest patrol. The first time I ran it it dug up and trashed 256 trojans, and malware. Since then I have never had one turn up. It is available as a free down load. I also run my computer with user rights using the admin only when needed and using a limited user the rest of the time. This way if you accidently down load something that wants to install itself it can't because of lack of rights.

Sorry to hear about your helmit (assuming thats what really happened and you weren't just giving Bernie an excuse so you could buy that new one you were looking at) Glad you made the trip Ok though and don't forget to take notes cause I will be picking your brain for when I go in Aug.

This is what I used to completly rebuild all the smashed plastic on my bike after my accident in 2008. I even made one good panel out of two bad ones with it, and reassembled pieces like a jigsaw puzzel. http://plastex.net/ use fiberglass cloth to reinforce on the inside. You also do not need to use spot filler because this stuff does it all it will sand as smooth as the original. P/S don't worry about praportions the stuff is idiot proof, and if you fold a piece of cellephane tape over your finger it smooths out real nice.

My self I am quite happy to stick with the carbs. I find the bike functions just fine as it is and carbs are much more shade tree mechanic friendly. Carb issues are usually much easier to deal with, fuel injection issues are often expensive repairs and often diagnostic headaches. -
Besides 1st its cupcake , next it will become powder-puff ----were will it end

:bang head: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :bang head: Is that "MASSENGEL DOUCHE" or "MASSENGILL DOUCHE " ? PS No criticism intended here, just curious if it is a spelling error or if they are in fact 2 different brands.

Thats the beauty of this homemade concoction the smell very seldom comes back when the dog gets wet. As mentioned earlier however time is a factor , the sooner the better.

Ok!! so now that my dog has been sprayed by a skunk for about the eleventh time, :bang head: I thought for those of you that own dogs, I would post the recipe that I use ( and have found to be the best non-commercial wash I have used so far) to de-skunk my dogs. I have done the tomato juice, yuk thing. I have done the coke and pepsi thing (a little better), but none so far have worked as well. NOTE ! I usually find that mixing 1/4 of the amount seems to be enough for an average size 50-60 lb dog. 1 quart of 3% hydrogen peroxide ¼ cup baking soda 1 teaspoon of strong liquid soap such as dishwashing detergent. (polmolive or sunlight work well here) Mix the ingredients in an open bucket or bowl. The mixture will fizz. Wet your dog and thoroughly massage the solution into the coat. Be sure to keep the mixture out of the dogs eyes, nose and mouth. If it is necessary to apply it to the dogs face, very carefully use a washcloth or a sponge. After applying the mixture to all parts of your dog that may have been sprayed, rinse the dog thoroughly. *Warning* This mixture can be explosive, as it will fizz and creates pressure if it is enclosed in a seal tight container. Never store unused portion, always discard. Be sure to only mix in an open container and do not try to store or cover it in any way. Do not get the mixture into the dog's eyes, nose or mouth.
