I would agree, I have noticed with other vehicles when pulling a heavy trailer on the highway in drive rather than in overdrive on the exact same route fuel millage is up. However when driving the same route without a load using the same vehicle the reverse takes place. I believe this is because in the higher gear, while being loaded down with a trailer the engine must work harder therefore using more fuel.

I am really sorry,when I read the part MIA, the thought of someone coming home alive after all those years and the fact that I overlooked that the word fallen was in the title of the post. I just for some reason assumed he was held captive and finally released. It never hit me that he was a fallen soldiar. My deepest sorrow goes out to his Familly along with my respect for his sacrifice for his country and the free world.

It Is hard to imagine what he must have gone through in 42 years and what he may still have to face upon his return. Life at home for this brave soul will certianly not be as he remembered it. I hope that he will be able to regain some of what his sacrifice has cost him.

dielectric grease has not been around or at least in common use all that long but it does a great job of sealing out moisture in connections and terminals. I use it on the big rigs, which are very prone to corrosion due to road salt and moisture all the time. Before dielectric grease I used vaseline (don't laugh ) it works. I coat the terminals before assembly and that includes battery connections. Even though the grease itself does not conduct electricity, the friction or pinching action of the terminals is more than enough to overcome this on normal 12v circuits. However I do not advise using it on low voltage (5v) circuits which are often used for sensors or data link circuts. -
If you get the chance take a trip on the M.V. Lady Rose. http://www.ladyrosemarine.com/ It sails out of Port Alberni. If you are going from Nanimo to Tofino, Post Alberni is about 1/3 of the way along the route. The boat ride is well worth the day spent on her and the sites along her route are very interesting. Most interesting is the number of people who live in Homes built on large rafts. The boat leaves early in the mornig so the best way is to plan to spend the night before. in a local motel so you can be at the dock early in the morning. from there you can continue on to Tofino.
