The bottom line IMHO is very simple. If your in a lazy relaxing sort of mood and just want to cruise along this bike has no problem cruising along at a lazy 30 mph in 5th gear. But if your feeling a little frisky and want to kick up your heels like a young colt and feel like winding her up like clock spring she is happy to do that as well. A more agreeable bike ( or women ) I doupt you will ever find .

When riding other than by yourself one should always ride within the limits of the weakest rider, and without scorn, knowing you yourself (you as in general terms) were once in their shoes and and like yourself they too will improve with time and experience. On a possibly slightly harsher note a slight survivable wipe out is always good for ones inteligence, and teaches one a little respect for the toy or tool they are handling. The school of hard knocks can be a very memorable teacher, provided the leason is not too extreme, which sadly happens all too often.

Marcarl told me a little while back that for the heck off it, he picked up from Canadian tire, a spray can of carb and choke cleaner. He then proceeded to spray the entire contents into his fuel tank full of fuel. After that he took the bike for a good long run and say,s it worked wonders. It may be worth a try. Remember to do it just before leaving on your run because that stuff evaporates fairly quick.

Ironiclly I was cleaning up the garage and I just found the bag for my old cover and turns out it was an EXIGENT. I really liked it but two winters ago it got covered in raccoon urine and I had to chuck it.

I have had some e-mail communication with them and here is a copy of it Hopefully I got most of the facts right. but the guy seems really keen on adding 1st Gens to his selection as well as trying to get the color selection as authentic as possible.

Awhile back I posted a request for info on a 1986 Cavalcade http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=60982 Well my friend ended up buying it and today I saw and rode it. This Bike was the Cavacade LS and man was it loaded with chrome and toys. It had options that had to have been brought down by aliens. On top ofthat the bike looked like it just came out of the box, apparently there were only 700 sold in Canada. I took the bike for a ride and it was very nice riding bike. However having said that I still prefer riding the venture. It felt to me like throttle response on the venture was much quicker and Handling was much nicer at least while in motion. Believe it or not the wheel base is a little longer, but the bike is lighter by some 200 LBS. Putting it on the center stand is a breeze. Along with the bike being lighter the center stand has a much longer step down bar on the side of the stand which swivals forward forward out of the way with the aid of a return spring type setup. The seat back was attached to the top luggage rack which could be slide back and forth depending on how much passinger room one needed. the seat and back rest were inflatable and it had automatic air ride suspension which you set at the touch of a button while sitting on the bike with both stands pulled up off the ground

Does kind of sound like a theft attempt gone wrong if the kick stand was up.
