I rebuilt almost 1/2 of the plastic on my bike. including forming new tabs in 2008 with Plastex. I have put over 25,000 km on the bike since and so far everything is still holding up great.

Ok I think I got it this time but its the last time I use a chainsaw to wittle a tree down to get it inside:bang head: -
There was a guy that used to belong to a bike gang and hung out at a bar I used to frequent. He was going on about all the scores he still had to settle, mostly with rival gang members and talking it up about his Modified Harley. In jest I made a not too complimentry remark about "alot of good money wasted on something as unreliable as a harley", you could have heard a pin drop. Now this guy had already done time for assault and eventually someone reminded me who I was talking too and what he was capable of. Without even setting my beer done I simply stated " I'm not worried .......He has a vendetta list so long that we both will be old and grey by the time he gets around to me." With that he looked at me, started laughing, slapped me on the back, then bought me another beer. We have been friends for ten years now.

I find it dificult to believe that you would spray the clear on before the color coat is dry. Normally you would want to wet sand the base coat with something like 6,000 grit sand paper to remove any imperfections before spraying on the clear coat, if you want a nice final finish. As far as the colour code goes I found it very dificult to find a paint supplier that even listed the codes. It may differ in the US or for the 2nd gens but in my case for my 89 I could find a paint supplier that could.

I bought mine about 15 years ago but I think you can still get them. http://fs.bookpawnshop.com/L/ad-Lincoln-electric-l-2645-carbon-arc-torch-for-ac-welding/ You can also make your own. I remember seeing instructions in popular mechanics when I was a teen. However here a couple such articles I found on the web http://books.google.ca/books?id=VCcDAAAAMBAJ&lpg=PA194&dq=twin%20carbon%20arc%20flame&pg=PA194#v=onepage&q&f=false http://www.instructables.com/id/Make-a-carbon-arc-torch-for-your-220-volt-stick-we/

That is a holder for carbon rods. You put one in each clamp. touch the tips together and then draw them apart to create an electric arch flame. It usefull for heating and bending metal, soldering or brazing. Also great for flameless heating of seized nuts. You simply grab the nut as though you were trying to pick it up with two chop sticks, wait and before long the nut is red hot and ready to loosen off. I have used it for many things and it can be quite handy when there is no torch around. Brazing sheet metal with it is not quite as pretty as using a oxy acetelyne torch but in a pinch it works not bad. this link is like the one I have. Go to any of the bigger truck stops and you will find anything you need to repair your CB antenna system. Including new cable ends, and antenna mounts, antenna quick disconnect adaptors or antenna fold over adaptors. You may have to hit more than one the selection varies from truck stop to truck stop. But the bigger ones along the interstates usually have a huge selection.
