saddlebum replied to Kregerdoodle's topic in Inspirational, Motivational, Prayer Requests, Etc.
prayer sent and fingers crossed for your friend. Thankfully these types of surgery's are becoming old hat and have a very good success rate so keep thinking positive. -

I think some people put a resister in the battery sensor wire to eliminate the sensor when they have installed a sealed battery, and cannot use the sensor. check out this thread. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=489

Correct me if I am wrong but are sew on not the same as iron on except with adhesive added to the back of the patch. Meaning you could still sew on the iron on one. If so make mine the iron on ones

I believe that for the most part they are. You can check for yourself at these site though. Sometimes the part number changes due to some slight modification yet the part is still interchangable such as the rear drive because the later ones have an added hole for an electronic speed sensor or the gear ratio is different but yet they are still interchangable. Check these parts sites. http://www.yamaha-motor.com/partviewer/default.aspx?ls=sport http://www.bikebandit.com/yamaha-motorcycle-parts/oem-parts/s/m14s2 http://www.yamahasportsplaza.com/

Sorry to hear you two and your familly's are having such a rough go of it. I wish you all the luck and hope things turn around soon and get much better for you.

put me down for two 3 1/2 inch, and two 9 inch

Me too, but not quite 200 years, that would put you right in the middle of the war of 1812. I would prefer 1865 the start of the cowboy era. I would still be a saddlebum but on a horse instead of a MC

I noticed that when I switched from dino oil to amsoil synthetic the noise did get louder as well as the ticking from the valve train so I have been considering going back to dino oil, for awhile now.

Actually If I am not mistaken but in maney states and provinces it is a criminal offense if you knowingly have a life threatning social disease and fail to A- wear a condom or B- fail to inform your partner.

Loud pipes result in terrorism charge????
saddlebum replied to slick97spirit's topic in Watering Hole
In ontario at one time if your exhaust, regardless of the type of vehicle, exceeded a certian decible level you would be charged with either excessive noise or disturbing the piece. I have to admit though, when I got passed by wisper quiet Harleys, on the roads of Germany it seemed wierd. -
1- convertables are on 4 wheels 2- convertables are less likely to be run off the road 3- convertables are less likely to flip over or wipe out in an average emergancy situation. 4- convertables are less likely to loose control on compromising road surfaces Be clear of one thing. Insurance company's don't pay, WE DO. They simply transfer cash from our pocket to someone else's and take a big handling fee for doing so. In between transfers they use and invest the money for thier own gain. Who gets to choose wether or not to care for this same person for the rest of thier life when thier freedom of choice, backfires and puts them in the hospital or in a critical condition for the rest of their life. My wifes cousin excercized his right to ride without a helmet. He ended up being a vegetable in a wheel chair and now his familly is struggling with the time and cost to care for him. It was not their freedom of choice, it was his. But they no have NO choice but to look after him for the rest of thier lives.

Man did I mess up this was not the fri 13th my two coworkers booked off. I could have gone :bang head:

I find it amazing that people will wear protective leathers to protect thier hide but refuse to wear a Helmet. Just sayin. P/S I too have scraped a helmet or two over the years and am thankful it was only my helmet. In my accident in 2007 I did about six somersaults from 40 km an hour, wrote off the bike and walked away. I am sure NO helmet then, would have meant NO Saddlebum today.

Heck you make that sound like a bad thing .......Turn the clock back I say.

Avoid using di-electric grease directly on the contact terminals of low voltage reference circuits such as sensor wires or data link circuits. These cicuits typicaly only use 5 volts and the grease can become a barrier to the low currant flow. -

I decided to give Charlie a call on the Land line today to see how he was doing. Turns out not all that great. He is on a lot of meds and has sold his bikes cause I guess his ailment does not allow him to ride very well. But he is still able to go fishing and we had a few chuckles over the phone. He also said to say Hi to everyone.

No promises but if but all the marbles fall in the right places I just may try to get myself up there as well.
