    Works for me something needs to be done to discourage this deadly practice. I myself believe it is even worse than DUI and should be treated more harshly then DUI

    But what if the consquences of your choice affects others? You would have no problem, risking putting your family members, in the position of having to give up their lives, to care for you the rest of your life, in the event of a brain injury? Freedom or not I see that as a bit of a selfish act. Now I realize one could ask, then why ride a motorcycle at all? Fair enough. That is a fair question to which I would have a hard time coming up with an acceptable answer for. But why increase the risk if there is no real need? Would it not better to protect oneself and their family from bad results as much as possible, when indulging in a higher than normal risky activity? I myself gave up riding while raising kids for this very reason. I am not saying everyone should. This was just my personal choice. Now that my kids have grown and are able to look after themslves, I have returned to riding, and may I add love every moment of it. However, I will still wear a helmet to reduce the chances of them having to care for me prematurely. I would love to ride with the wind going through my hair as much as anyone but maybe because there is little of it left wearing a helmet has become an easier decision.

    Although I really detest government, interferance with our rights and freedoms. I too believe in wearing helmets. It has been said that freedom should be limited, were it effects someone elses freedom. Sadly the discussion regarding helmets, seems to be centered around deaths but what about all those instances were death, has been evaded yet mental capacity severly damaged and that poor individual must live with a reduced mental capacity, ranging from needing various degrees of care, to being a totally incapacitated individual, requiring constant care and have become a burdan on someone else,s freedom and cost of living. I currantly have an uncle, a cousin and a close friend who fall into this catagory and whose family's are strapped with having to care for them for the rest of their lives. The individuals family's have lost their freedom, because the above three chose to excersize the freedom, to ride without helmets. As well, the additional cost of caring for them is reflected in our insurance and health care costs. I know the last statment sounds a little cold, I don't mean it to be but it is an unavoidable fact.

    Everything Goose say,s is true. However if you insist on using loctite, remember that a very small drop is all that is needed in retaining a bolt. Pouring an excessive amount on the bolt is just a waste and as in the above post when it drips or even runs off the bolt onto the plastic the above post becomes another reality.

    Not to offend Terry none, but I do think Michelle has nicer legs than Terry, But then I guess its all about personal taste......Right TOM. However, They are right up there among some of the greatest couples I have ever had the pleasure to meet and look forward to meeting them again.

    Well said, I can,t think of a thing to add but my sincere thanks to all who organized and to Terry and Michelle from PIONEER MOTOR SPORTS for their Hospitality and friendship, which went above and beyond.

    Built in u-turns ??? Is that the new story your sticking to???? :rotfl: On the garmin zumo 660 there is an avoidance feature you can enable or disable . If you enable it and check the box beside unpaved roads you sould be ok.

    Speaking of lost and found. anyone happen to find a pair of rain over boots with rubber soles. I think they fell out at some point while moving stuff around in my saddle bags.

    I noticed because of the trailer over the 5th wheel, you had to push that machine as far back as you could,,,,,,, to keep your axle weight on the tractor legal.:rotfl:

    This is not my final vote, but it does sound pretty good to me. I can't see it being much of a problem for most Southern Ontario riders, though it would be a two day trip, unless you ride hard. And it would bring it more in reach of some of the more western Canadian riders.

    You got that right. Not 2 minutes after separating from Marcarl and Marca to head east towards my house I got dumped on big time. Since I was headed straight home from there I decided not to stop and put my rain gear on. The end result was that I was so drenched by the time I got home, you could have rung me out like a dish rag, and filled a small swiming pool. But Tom and his crew put on such a great event, that it was worth every drop, just to be there.

    What confuses me, is when I am road testing a big rig for a customer I get the same tailgaters. Come on! Just who do they think they are intimidating? Do they not realize if I slam on they brakes, they just become another bit of road grime on the rear bumper?

    I do the same with one exception. I will move from my selected track If I feel I am not visible enough for example hidden from view by a larger vehicle. I that case I will put myself were I feel I am most visible to any and all traffic. For example moving to the center or even the right track of the left lane if it makes me more visible to oncoming traffic intending turn left. With regards to being followed to close it has been rare. My biggest issue is when in the right lane of two left turn lanes at an intersection, the car in the left of the two lanes feels it is perfectly fine to sweep across into your lane half way through the turn, despite the fact that seconds before you were sitting side by side waiting for the light to change and he/she even looked over at your bike while we are stopped. a couple of times I was so close I felt like kicking in their side door.
