  1. June being such a busy month for everyone, its more likely it will be something along the lines of a belated open house sort of thing at a later date. Just not sure when. If and when it happens, would love to see a bunch of motorcycles (and second gens too ) outside my house. No gifts just people.
  2. Thank you every one, I am touched Has it been that long ....Hard to believe HEY I'm not that old its only the 2nd anniversary of my 30th Birthday Think maybe you'll be able to keep up now:big-grin-emoticon:
  3. Wait a minute My experience with International truck wiring is they blow fuses anyway and let smoke out all over the place. We used to call them rolling bonfires waiting to happen
  4. In Ontario it is law that road lights can only be operated with the High beams so I wire them so that they come on with the high beams and go off when you switch to low beams.
  5. When you say the wires test good are you testing them with just a digital volt meter or testing the individual wires for continuity with an Ohmmeter. Neither one is totally reliable. Try testing with a volt meter then while the volt meter is still connected add a test light to it and see how much the voltage drops. if it is only 1 to 1/2 a volt the wires are ok but if it drops to a few volts or more than there is a weak connection or a bad possibly corroded wire in the circuit.
  6. In Carls case that could mean both if you add one of his U-turns into the equation. I unfortunately will be unable to come as I have to attend my Grandsons birthday party on that day .....or I would have been in.
  7. No worry's Evan just PM me the address. I will be going in that direction at the end of August.
  8. And that's what we are all here for. To help each other. If it makes you feel even better I have been a Mechanic for 40 years, am very technically inclined and have been since being a small kid. Yet I never fail to leave MD having learned a few new tricks and acquiring some new and very useful knowledge.
  9. Reminds me of the 1st meet and great I went to. Now known as Marcarl's Venture-in. Well Rocket was doing a stint at Camp Borden in Barrie and came down to my place. Being the nice guy I am I allowed him to ride on the back rather then take his rental car. ( He was warned however that should we come across a good looking female hitchhiker ......he was on his own). Anyway on the way home we approached a small group of Harley riders. As we pulled alongside and they noticed a Jap bike about to go past much less one with two guys forming a combined weight of about 500 LBS. of overweight human flesh, they turned it on. Too bad for them .....they only succeeded in embarrassing themselves more as the old girl effortlessly left those hogs behind to wallow in their own loud noise. On another occasion as I was loaded with camping gear, for my 1st MD at Don's I was just easing along the right lane of the QEW to meet the rest of the group at Casablanca. Suddenly a young couple with a nice new Harley Sportster, pulled up beside me. He yells at me saying why don't I get a real bike and the two of them proceed to sit there and laugh at me. I yelled back I'll rush out and get one right now, then dropped a gear rolled the throttle wide open and vanished as though I was figment of their imagination . Don't get me wrong I got nothing against Harley's or their owners. Just the ones who suddenly think they are in a higher class because they own one. As far as I am concerned motorcycles are just motorcycles and we are all just motorcycle riders.
  10. Uh I did not see motorcycle on your check list.
  11. Uh I did not see motorcycle oo N your check list.
  12. I remember on the main street going towards the Oberlin Inn on the right side was a restaurant were alot of us have gone in years gone by. The food was good. the waitress's friendly and they give hugs. I just can not remember the name of it.
  13. I would be interested in a breakfast run but not a fan of McDonalds. Prefer a Mom and Pop type place that does a good old fashion Bacon and eggs type breakfast

  16. Happy Birthday Vickie.I know I am a tad late but I will make it up to you with a big hug when I see you. :bighug:
  17. I had a similar issue. But when I removed the slave I found it was dry. Turns out the line had a very slow leak at the crimp were it connects to the slave. Had a local hose shop make me up a new stainless line for $34.00. Also decided that since I had it out anyway and was the original, I might as well replace it anyway. I ordered a new one from skydoc, and his price was very reasonable.
  18. The guns I have should melt it. However at this time I have no real need for it, as all my repairs are completed and I still have a good supply of plastex left over. On the other hand if I had an immediate use for it, I would gladly split an order with you but at this point even half the cost is a little more then I need to spend right now, when I do not have an immediate need for it (and hopefully won't for a long time to come). In any case thanks for thought.
  19. On the trucks some modules allowed you to adjust the currant draw in the modules software but on those that did not we installed a small adaptor harness between the led light and the connector to the light. this harness had a resister in it that tricked the module into thinking that the led light was a regular light. I can see if I can get the part number may be even pull one apart so it can be copied and post the info.
  20. Congratulations you two. see you at MD
  21. Congratulations you too. see you at MD

  23. You don't need to be old to recognize good music. Specially since most of today's popular music is not.
  24. Ok I stand somewhat corrected, repair or modify CB radios, No ...but as far as external hardware is concerned many of them (not all) have a very good selection of antennas, mounts and a various assortment of cable repair items such as replacement cable ends, connectors and adapters as well as various antenna mounting bases and replacement mikes etc.. Quite often the quality of the items they carry is much better than those carried by places like radio shack who often only give lip service to CB items. I have been messing with CB,s since the very early 70's and short of CB and Ham radio specialty shops (which these days are becoming hard to find) I have found truck stops to be the best and most convenient source unless you go online.
