  1. I am about to send my 660 in for the same reason, locking up. Now your scaring me.
  2. Now ain't you glad you finally learned to read:backinmyday: so you could cash in on some of the knowledge available on this site
  3. Some people are just too fussy. I had both the shark and the black death. Other than a slight ammonia smell and taste I found it to be more like a tough version of raw herring. Would I eat it again ......NOT ON YOUR LIFE. The black death on the other hand is another story , I could not stop drinking it, it was so good. Do not know how much I had through out the evening but at the end of the night there was a 1/4 bottle left I gladly finished of before being the last one to hit the sack. No after effects the next morning either. As far as Jonas goes although I have sort of met him before, this is the first time I really got a chance to get to know him. All I can say is I hope its not the last time, as he is a great down to earth fun loving guy with a great sense of humour.
  4. My system is loaded identical to Carls all the same versions etc. Yes they were all cleared before the trip and again when I had tech support try to help me out. Performed a factory reset no change. It seems as though it has to cool down for a bit and then it comes back. Until it does it again.
  5. That's cause when people see you coming they throw up the GONE FISHING SIGN
  6. On the way home from WNY The Counts did the same thing and He said he had not updated it since 2011.
  7. Did the reset with Garmin's tech support and it did not help
  8. No it did not.
  9. I did do the firmware update and it has all the latest updates.
  10. Has any one else had issues with their Garmin 660 or 665 freezing or locking up. Mine began doing this on my trip to Galena I would unplug it and within a short time it would do it again. Sometimes it would not even turn on it would just faintly show Garmin on the screen and freeze there, at which point you can't even turn it off. the unit is just over a year old. I have called Garmin and talked to them about it and they. talked me through a reset but this did not help. So now I get to send it back to them and for $165 they will replace it, a little discouraging since I have only had it for a year and three months. P/S I bought it from Best Buy and like a total idiot paid $89.00 for their so called replacement plan. When I walked in to get it replaced I was informed they could not replace it because they no longer carried it but that I would get a gift certificate of equal value to spend in the store instead. What a Joke.
  11. Its a little early for me to say whether I will be there or not. However I will certainly be planning for it.

  20. Western NY. 1000 islands is way out of my way. If Trader is going he may cross at 1000 islands.
  21. Ok 1st off a lot of Americans were trying to point the finger at us Canadians but obviously we is all innocent and the fact that we did not make the list proves it 2ndly if he camped at Blanding landing I can understand his not wanting to camp any more, I still hear those %#%#% train whistles in my head every time I try to sleep. and yeh Trader is right I am still trying to catch up on lost sleep. I think that place used to be a Hobo camp in 20's and 30's were they used to jump off and on trains. In the end the last remaining Hobo turned it into a camp ground.
  22. Who is going and when !! My currant plan is to head down early on Fri although I am toying with the Idea of going Thur. afternoon or early evening
  23. Marcarl pretty well summed it up, Pretty hard to add to all that. I had great time and enjoyed the company of all I met and regret not meeting all one on one. the committee did a wonderful job.
  24. Well I finally got home today as well. Quite the trip to say the least. On the way home as you know we had issues with Traders bike. First we replaced the tire on Trader's trailer, because of what appeared to be a shifted or broken belt. Then when we went to leave, Traders bike would not start. We checked it out with the limited resources we had at hand and concluded the battery was not taking a charge and a voltage drop test during cranking seemed to verify that. Since the place we were at to buy the tire, also had battery's, the decision was made to replace it. Talk about disappointment when it would not crank. Well it was a dry charged battery, to which we had to add acid to and should have sat for a bit before using it. We decided to push started it in hopes that it would build up while driving, no such luck. Carl and I would push start Traders bike at fuel and rest stops which gave us a bit of a workout. Actually Trader being the aware person he is, must have noticed that I put on a pound or two at the rally and being the concerned friend he is, allowed me to push by myself. To add to the workout he even left the key off while I pushed so I would gain maximum benefit from the workout he so kindly offered me. That night at the motel we took the battery out of Carls bike and tried it with a voltmeter connected to measure voltage drop while cranking and determined the starter was not faulty. We decided that we need to get Traders Battery properly charged. That night I suggested to Steve I would buy a battery tender in the morning and at the next Motel stop we would remove his battery and charge it all night hoping this may work. To be clear, I needed to buy a battery tender for a backup sump system I was building anyway for the house, I just bought it now rather than later. Of course it was another day of push starting Traders bike. The following morning after removing the battery from the bike and leaving it on the battery tender all night the bike seemed to have gotten over its starting issues. All was well until Trader started questioning what he perceived as excessive movement with Carl's trailer as we are going down the highway, followed some time later by Carl hearing and feeling something odd in his bike. The next day we headed down the highway when Carl pulled over certain something was wrong with his back wheel. We put it up on the center stand and sure enough a wheel bearing was gone. We made our way back to a service centre and after some inquires Carl concluded he would have to trailer the bike home. While trying to work out a solution to the situation, A fellow in a jeep pulls up to offer some help. Carl explains the situation to him and the fellow reply’s he has a shop we can use and an old venture we can rob parts off of, so we head to his place. Once there he first checks to see if he may even have a new bearing on hand, which he did. With a little bit of assistance from myself and the kind stranger. (I say little because Carl does not usually require a lot of help) Carl was soon mobile again but too late to catch the ferry. So another night in town preceded but a visit to the bush plane museum was in order. After spending another night in town the rest of our journey was trouble free. Last but not least thanks to Carl and Marca allowing me to join them on their alternate route home. I enjoyed some spectacular scenery and riding. Combine this with a wonderful time and beautiful scenic rides made possible by the committee members I had a great vacation week I will never forget. EXCEPT FOR THOSE TRAINS THAT CONSTANTLY RAN THOUGH THE COMPGROUND ……OOOooooOOOOOHHHHH THOSE TRAINS !!!!!!!! :bang head: :bang head: :bang head: :bang head:
