  1. Happy belated Birthday MiCarl. Hope it was a good one. Unlike Marcarl I don't need to make up an excuse. I am always a day late and a dollar short and admit it. Besides If I changed now what would become of my life long earned reputation? HAPPY BIRTHDAY
  2. I also prefer dino oil. I ran synthetic and noticed the mechanical noises increased with synthetic. IMHO dino oil does a better job of cushioning mechanical noises such as lifter noise. P/S Bob I don't think a 60 weight synthetic is as dense as if it were 60 weight dino oil. I think when they rate synthetic oil the classification only means it is comparable to that classification of dino oil. the oil itself actually runs a little thinner or so it seems to me. So if you were using a 10w40 dino oil you could probably get away with a 10w60 synthetic.
  3. Dan .......You haven't worked in 2 months.....Not the same thing:backinmyday:

  13. It was bound to happen after getting dosed by someone with a big pail of ice water ...... No names mentioned just the culprit was small and attacked from behind when he wasn't looking .......Poor guy.
  14. Had mine since 2005 joined here in 2006. Saw my first one when they 1st came out and instantly fell in love with it but could never afford to get one until 2005, having to settle for other cast offs which needed to be patched up to become ride able. Now that I own one I wish that I had tried Harder to get one sooner.

  24. I have been sharpening drill bits free hand my hole life. I agree it takes a certian knack but wants you got it down I see no reason to use a drill Dr. or equivalent. At work guys tend to leave them on my tool box for me to do up in my spare time. Big thing is not to overheat the drill both when sharpening or when drilling. One of my favourite cutting oils is believe it or not WD40. I was drilling tool steel one day when I ran out of Kool tool. Out of desparation I grabbed a can of WD40 and darn didn't it work better than the more expensive Kool Tool. To the point were I was drill faster and stopping less often to resharpen my bit, Go Figure.
  25. I have to stand behind tx2sturgess in his warning as it is a valid one. Being a mechanic I have personally seen were people have installed items and because the amount of currant the item draws is more than the wire can handle and the fuse too large the wire begins to glow red and when something combustible is near it will ignite. I once had a customer wire in a small interior light using small bell wire which he ran through the head liner. Because the bell wire was so small 22gauge or smaller and was hooked to a 20 amp fuse it got red hot when the light was turned on and set the headliner on fire all because he was to cheap to buy the correct size wire. If this wire was run along other wires it would have burned through the insulation of the adjacent wires cause them to contribute to the issue.
