  2. Glad to here you came out Ok but mostly alive.
  3. That was because there were no tent ropes to trip over on the way home. Now if everybody was like Yammer, and would leave their poles and ropes at home bringing only the tent......I wouldn't have a problem at all. Glad you guy's made it home safe as well and that goes for everybody. Hey Sleepy !! You should have stuck with us a little longer. Shortly after you split off we passed one of the biggest outdoor flea and antique markets I have seen in awhile right off the highway. We know how you love those and how that Draw winning was burning a hole in your pocket. I great time with everybody and really enjoyed myself. Conversation could have been a bit better but I kept running out words
  4. I had the same thing. I resolved it this way. Carefully fully remove the gasket from the filter. Wash it out out thoroughly with brake clean squeezing it constantly just like you would when rinsing out a sponge. Do it several times and do not panic as it will double in size. Just make sure it gets a real good wash out with the brake clean. Squeeze out the surplus as well as you can, then leave it laying on a flat surface such as piece of sheet metal in the hot sun, make sure you flip it over a few times. By the time the sun and metal dry it out (about an hour or two but the longer you leave it the better) it will have shrunk back to its original size. In the mean time clean and re-oil the filter (Do Not Over OIL). Then using brake clean and a cloth clean the gasket surface completely. Use grey or red silicone and but a thin coating on the filters gasket surface. Carefully re-attach the gasket then lay the filter down on a flat surface, gasket up. Next lay a piece of flat board on top of the gasket and then some weight on the board (I used four bricks) this clamps it all together. Leave it cure for 12 hours and your good to go. One last thing make sure your Carbs are not flooding because if Gasoline gets on the gasket it causes it to swell. Also using the wrong oil or too much oil on the filter can cause it to swell. When cleaning the filter avoid getting any solvent type cleaner on the gasket, You guessed it, swelling. If it does show signs of swelling leave it in the hot sun for awhile.
  5. Their at it again
  6. Arrived home safely. Unpacked cleaned and hung my camping gear to dry And now I get to sit and relax a bit (at least until the dog actually realizes I am home and pulls my walking shoes out of the closet, the leash out of the empty flower pot, dumping it all on the floor in front of me and then grabbing me by my wrist pulling me off the couch just to take him for a walk....That dog has no sympathy) Any way as I was about to say before the dog distracted me, We arrived in WNY to be confronted by a big guy I think they called Tom. The first words out of his mouth is UGH!! Canadians ---Go Home ----We do not want you here. However as I explained to him, or at least tried too. We did not want to be there either, except that some fool American (ragtop) who apparently had too much Apple Pie tripped over the border line and fell on the Canadian side. After a lot of bogus paperwork the four of us (Yes it took four of us Despite his tiny size) Drew the short straws and got stuck with the job of having to escort him all the way to Chaffee NY. However Despite this Tom Characters attitude These four good looking women (Robin, Taters, Becky and Michelle (from Pioneer) took an instant liking to us and insisted we stay for the full weekend of festivities. What was really cool we actually saw two real live Vikings. Though I was rather surprised. because I always thought it took more than two vikings to handle those big rowing oars. Obviously thoses two characters are a pretty wiry pair I do have to hand it to this Tom Character though, He and his crew with help from Michelle and Terry from Pioneer Motorsports put on a wonderfull festive event. With any luck some other poor American soul will again be over whelmed by Apple Pie and we will once again have to do our duty and escort the poor soul back THANKS WNY, I HAD A GREAT TIME From riding to and from the event with fellow Canadians, Tooch, Herb1, and sleepy and our US buddy Ragtop69gs and too meeting, Greeting and sharing in the fun with both new and old members from both sides of the border. Jonas it was good to see you again old friend and to meet Chris whose visit I hope will be a memorable one. SEE Y'ALL NEXT YEAR IF NOT SOONER (Yeah Tom -- Like it or not this Canadian is coming back)
  7. Add that to the fact that in today,s hi tech hi paced society driving, specially safe driving is usually the last thing on anyones mind. You see more and more people running stop signs, and traffic lights. When is the last time you actually saw someone stop at the curb when pulling out of a parking lot into traffic. Also how often in urban traffic does a car just suddenly whip out and change lanes without looking or signalling because the car ahead of him suddenly slows down to make a left turn.
  8. Nice to hear from you again Scotty. Oh and About that 85 pounds you think you lost .....I know were it is ....So if you want it back just let me know .....I will be more than happy to return it to you.
  9. Oh Crp that means I gotta put a push on my hiddy way shelter
  10. Sounds like we got us a plan. See you all there. there is a good selection of food choices there inc You Guessed it Timmies. As you approach Casablanca Blvd Exit 74. you will notice a wendys sign visable from the highway. Grab a coffee or quick bite to eat. Fuel up if needed and I am thinking we can be back on the road by 1:00.
  11. Ditto and to add to that the helper or Apprentice is usually required to complete the task in the same time frame as a Master tech even though he is paid half as much. The shift I run has 2 Master Techs and 6 Apprentices. Believe me I earn my keep without even picking up a wrench.
  12. Not sure which way your coming up but if you get to were I-79 pretty much ends at HWY 5 were it more or less follows the Lake Erie shore line and follow the shoreline route right to were hwy 5 joins the I- 90. You will add about an hour and half to your ride but it goes through some nice shoreline scenery and wine country. In the meantime ride safe and see you soon.
  13. Sorry not sure what you mean by PMS, only know two translations for it 1) Parked Motorcycle Syndrome or 2) Permissable Man Slaughter Stay away from Robin or Mini-Muffin they tend to use the later with extreme prejudice
  14. Years ago I had my 250 Can-Am at a dealership for some work. Because I could not ride due to a neck injury (Went over the handlebars of a bicycle when I hit a chain in the dark that was stretched across a pathway) a friend of mine picked it up for me. A week later when I could once again move my neck I decided to try it out. I rode about 40 feet when the front wheel locked up and I went over the handlebars, Great. I could not see anything wrong with it so I pulled the front wheel off and found a bolt floating around in the brake drum that did not even belong to the bike. Needless to say I was 1st thankful it did not lock up when my friend rode it home and 2nd I was at the dealer ship madder than a wet hen.
  15. Gee Puc you never seize to amaze me. The guy steals your tricycle and yet here you would still be willing to share your dinner with him. Oh by the way its OK to stop giving him mouth to mouth once he starts breathing on his own
  16. A spyder is an EKIRT You would be going when they are coming and coming when they are going:rotfl:

Upon leaving the DQ head north until you see the DQ. Upon leaving the DQ head north until you see the Icecream truck in the lot opposite Pioneer motorsports in Chaffee NY (well thats the way Tom gives directions
  18. My plan is to go down Thursday morning. Anyone wanting to ride together we could meet at the Gateway Niagra service centre in Grimsby just off the Casablanca Blvd exit from the Qew. This has been a common gathering place for Ontario Ventureriders going south. The attached map shows directions from the Burlington Skyway. https://www.google.ca/maps/dir/43.298517,-79.7974207/43.2059201,-79.5979947/@43.2092756,-79.6019574,17z/data=!4m4!4m3!1m0!1m0!3e0?hl=en Exact address if you want to put it in your GPS is 424 S Service Road Grimsby, ON
  19. Congratulations on your 30 year success. If you post your itinerary we may be able to set up some impromptu meet and greats along the way.
  20. Good to hear ...So I guess we will see you up here soon.
  21. I do the same. By the time I use front brake only and put both feet down I am pretty much stopped anyway. Both feet stay on the pegs balancing the bike until pretty much the last second. I find trying to put one foot down too early while still braking with the other tends to upset my balance.
  22. Maybe let Hal take the shot. Apparently those new I eyes of his are like laser targeting. Man he got his last buck from an amazing distance ........I believe it was in around 12 feet. Of course with a bow I understand you need to be a llittle cloooooserr.
  23. Hey Reiny just make sure you can out run Hal in case you miss .....
  24. Like Evan I changed mine in about ten minutes and I didn't take the wheel or anything else off. I just reached in with a long screw driver and that was it. I was very careful not to distort the clamps and used a bit of dum dum on the end of the screwdriver to hold the screw while I reassembled it.
