Do we have any professionals in the Safe Business?
BOO replied to ragtop69gs's topic in Watering Hole
It seems to me that putting a 110 volt light in a "fire safe" just doesn't seem right. Maybe it's a fire hazard unless you put the bulb in a glass shield. I'm thinking battery is the best idea. BOO- 19 replies

Actually they cost the city/village money to have these cameras. From the outside it looks like a money maker for the Police but they make very little money if any here in Illinois. Maybe it's the way the law is here that causes it not to be a money maker. It's very labor intensive just to get the ticket sent out. Several of the cities are taking the cameras out. BOO

If you use the saw that cecdoo and riderduke recommend you should be able to cut the cabinet off and not need any trim. Some careful measuring and the countertop guys should be able to slip the top right in there. The Dremel will cut the cabinet off but will make some fairly rough edges. Trim is okay but what you going to do where the door comes down? The door will be fine but the edges of the cabinet can not be trimmed at that point. Put the Dremel back in the box and go buy the other tool. BOO

I guess you have been pretty lucky, you sure are abusing your septic system. Disposals are not really recommended for houses on septic systems. The new septic systems can be designed for garbage disposals but it's still not recommend. There is a garbage disposal made to be used with septic systems that is suppose to be not so bad on the system. Your septic system needs to be pumped every couple of years depending on use but by the time you "think" you need your system pumped you are going to be buying a new one. BOO

I just upgraded to this baby....... No Problems. BOO

Oh yeah I have Hawaii and Morocco and I definitely did not ride the bike over there. Rented in Hawaii and owned a scoot in Morocco. BOO

Yeah they do that in Illinois also but I don't think it applies to motorcycles, only cars and trucks. Boo

It does not make sense to me that adjusting the floats would increase your MPG but I'm here to tell you that it does. I was getting about 40 MPG but after adjusting the floats to spec I now get 44MPG pretty consistently. I did not plug my AIS and with everything adjusting right you shouldn't have to. I am also very happy with the way my bike runs and the gas mileage, makes me smile a lot when I ride the bike. Like everyone else if I push it out on the 4 lanes the gas mileage really goes down. Glad you got your bike running the way you like it. BOO

Need a poll for second gen rear shock

I agree, like one of the other guys said "it bounces a lot" with no oil but still holds air. At least mine did. The oil must give it the dampening. BOO -
Job? Job? Job? Bite your tongue. BOO Sounds like a good deal for someone looking for a job though.

I doubt that it is structural. I think we have been framing houses the same way about for ever. To be just double sure I would ask a carpenter friend of mine to take a look at the framing from inside the attic. Another choice is to call the local Building Inspector and have him take a look at it. Changes are the framing is not up to todays standards in any case but as long as you have the existing layers of shingles removed you should be fine. Good Luck, BOO

Ha, at least I wouldn't being talking about Health Care anymore, I would be getting it for free for a while. BOO

I can't even remember taking the picture but it sure looks like a Guzzi from the exhaust headers I think there were close to 1100 bikes there for the week and probably over 1050 were first gens AMEN No Rick it wasn't there or at least I wan't riding it. I was riding an 86 black/gold or what ever the colors were called. BOO A few more pictures. We were lined up for a parade and yeah it rained on our parade but about 10 or 15 minutes before these pictures were taken the sky opened up and visibility was about 15 ft for a few minutes. Last picture is of a "Brown Sugar" that went down just after the parade on the way back to the Hotel. Enjoy

Dan, Walmart sells Generic drugs for $4 a month or $10 for three months. The drugs you take is not on their list though. I too take Simvastatin and I have to buy it from the VA. Same price as you. Walmart has several Statin drugs on their list so maybe there would be one there to switch you to. The Hydrocodone is actually Tylenol but probably in higher does for your pain. There are several stores that have a Genetic program going on and most have the drugs listed on line for availability and cost. I have a bottle of Hydrocodone/ Acetaminophen 5MG/325MG that I don't take anymore. Looks around and Good Luck, BOO

Was scanning some old pictures the other day and found these that were taken at Springfield, MO some time around 1990 at a "Venture Touring Society" national meet. Enjoy, BOO

I bet your out of pocket costs are more like $3,000.00 a year. Medicare + Supplement + Part D does not equal $0. I do hear stories about some VA's being pretty bad in different places but the one I go to is at least as good or maybe even better than the local Dr's and hospitals. It all boils down to one thing, you need to go where you are comfortable and confident with the treatment. BOO

Unless things have changed I think everyone is eligible for some benefits. As far as assets they do not count your home or vehicles. It mostly evolves around cash on hand and that amount at one time was over $200,000.00 I believe. I'm not going to go and read all that mumble jumble but that's what I sort of remember. Where am I and how did I get here? BOO

As far as the quality of Doctors: It's a known fact that 50% of the Doctors graduate from the lower half of their graduating class. BOO

I think it's a conspiracy, the US Government waits until you are to old to learn or understand anything and then throws Medicare at you. Everyone I talk to really has no idea what plan they should have or what company they should be with. Me included. BongoBob, I have been going to the VA for my medical for about a year now and I am real happy with them. They have great hospitals and clinic's here in the Chicago land area. State of the art equipment and goooood drugs. And the price is right. So if anyone figures out Medicare and can explain it in 500 words or less I hope you post it here. BOO

Higher mileage scaring me? Should it?
BOO replied to paai1993's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
My 01 has 82K miles on it and I would hop on it and go anywhere for any length of mileage or time. I am probably not the best on preventive maintenance but these things in general just cause no problems. I have bought bikes with higher mileage in the past and I believe they may be better bikes than the ones that are 10 years old with 5000 miles on them. Good luck in your search, BOO -

I know most everyone thinks they should rest on the rubber bumpers but the less you bend the brackets around trying to get them the way you want them the better. I had lost a couple and the last time I put them on I didn't touch them, just screwed them on and let it go. Been there for about 3 years now and still nice and strong. BOO
