  1. I did the same thing except I mounted the lighter plug in the plastic to make it more permanent, also it's a marine type with a rubber plug. But the bottom line is I use it as a battery tender. Jerry

  4. We use to race snowmobiles but it's hard to figure out what's going on unless you are in front of the machine itself. The low end may be flooded with gas, this happens sometimes when you transport the sled with the gas turned on. Also can happen when the sled is just setting if the float got stuck for some reason and let gas drain into the low end. The way to clear the low end is to drain the gas out and you do that buy taking the drain plugs out of the bottom of the engine and then holding the rear of the sled up high so the gas can drain out. Another way to clear the top end of gas is to hold the spark plug over the hole of the cylinder with the key on and pull the starter over+++++WARNING***** DO NOT stand over the engine while doing this, you loose your eyebrows and possibility some hair. Like someone else said, be sure to have some new plugs. That is very important. Jerry
  5. Well I hope the Elite 3 is a Bias tire because I have one on the back and a Elite II on the front which I know is a Bias tire. At any rate everything seems to work fine. Jerry

  7. Same sort of problem but not to practical for the bikes. I have used a lot of Stainless screws, bolts, nuts etc on the bike and usually where something is screwed into a steel or chrome part. Like the bolts that hold the saddle bags onto the rails and fender. Usually anytime I have something apart I replace the bolts or whatever with stainless. I see Ace hardware is handling chrome now in a lot of different sizes ans shapes. Bit pricey though. Jerry

    And this would be the reason I wouldn't be pulling a trailer. There are a lot of times while riding the bike you need to stop quickly or at least slow down pretty fast due to someone pulling out in front of you etc. You definitely don't need 500 lbs plus pushing you down the road. This is not to say anything about balanced loads, tongue weight etc. Glad you are still around to tell the story but I don't think you were ever see me pulling a trailer, but you never know if someone comes up with a good braking system it just might happen.   9. I have had two replaced in two years and yes there is a difference in the new shocks. The first one was replace with old stock and supposedly the second one was replace with the new stock. Jerry

  11. I don't change all my own tires but when I do I use the method used above. You just need to use something to protect the aluminum wheels so as not to scratch them up. Jerry
