  1. Here you go and it's for sale. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Yamaha-Royal-Star-1999-Yamaha-Royal-Star-Venture-with-Sidecar_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ50045QQihZ011QQitemZ320111678311QQrdZ1 Jerry
  2. Eck, Yeah it says "My wife says I don't pay any attention to what she says...or something like that" By the way I paid $.99 for that one. Jerry
  3. By the way if you add a fold over to the antenna that will also change the swr.----it becomes longer. Jerry
  4. Tom, Not sure what you are cutting there. Must be one of those antennas that is considered the "marshal mod". If that is the case I'm not sure they are trimable? Usually on that type of antenna there is a stinger in the top end of the antenna that is adjustable for SWR but I don't remember seeing one in those fiberglass antennas. Maybe if you give me some more information I might be able to help you. Jerry
  5. We have no choice here. Ethanol at all the gas stations. Can't say that I've ever noticed any difference in performance. Jerry
  6. I have always used the DPR8EA-9 Jerry
  7. Tim, Sorry I can't answer to many of your questions but I'm sure someone will jump in here and help you out. I can say the 84 standard I had did have self canceling turn signals. Jerry
  8. I change mine in the spring every year, some years I get 12,000 miles, some years a lot less. And before the subject comes up here and it will I use just the standard spark plugs, nothing fancy. They work just fine. Jerry

    thicker grips

Yeah, this is what I have now and I really like them. I have had the foam ones in the past and they are okay as well. Jerry
  10. I usually go with the tire sidewall. I try to run 41 in mine front and back. Jerry
  11. Not sure what I am missing here, what's the proper bulb for the turn signal? I have been using 1157 front and back, not cutting anything off or modifying it in any way. Also the extra I carry around is a 1157. Jerry
  12. 1157 in the 01 Dan. But yours probably is an orange bulb and I would still have thought it was the 1157 variety. Splitting the faring is no big deal, heck I've had mine apart 3 times in the last couple of months. Jerry
  13. You guys need to get out and ride more!!!! Jerry
  14. I get around 40MPG pretty much all the time. A little more if I'm running back roads in the 40 to 50 MPH range. BUT if I were to bump it up to say 80-85, now I'm not saying I do that but if I did it gets about 32-35 MPG. I'm pretty tough on the throttle so I could probably do better but that ain't no fun. Jerry
  15. Try emailing info@swmototires.com The guy I am dealing with is Blaine. I had ordered two tires one was MT90B16 for my friends Goldwing and a 150/80B16 for my RSV. He didn't have the MT90 in stock but got it from another dealer or something but the one for my RSV was in stock. Both tires are 491 EliteII. Great people. Jerry
  16. Just got two 491 Dunlops today from SWMOTO and both of them have the dot on the sidewall. Jerry
  17. I have the sears one, looks lot like yours except it red. I have to use hockey pucks with mine to make it stand up enough at the corners to miss some of the important things under the bike. So it's either the hockey pucks or a frame made to fit the jack. Jerry

    Affordable GPS

Marc, I'm wondering just how much detail you are getting on that gps. I think I saw somewhere that that unit only has about 65K memory? I have an older Garmin StreetPilot and I had to buy a 128 meg card for it and even then I am only able to get 6 to 8 counties in any great detail. If I put Cook county in I only get about 3 or 4 counties. Just curious, Jerry
  19. LIke this? Thanks for the suggestion, Jerry
  20. You might want to try eusa1 here on the forum. His wife rides one of those or did and he pretty knowledgeable about Yamaha's. Jerry

    Shrink Wrap

If you are using the small stuff as I presume you are then I just place the soldering iron close to the shrink tubing and it will shrink right down. Be careful not burn a hole it though. Jerry
  22. I don't know about the bearings. I had a real bad bearing on the rear of a first gen and didn't find it until I was putting new tires on. Actually the back were really bad and one of the fronts was beginning to get rough. 80 some thousand on the bike when this happen. Jerry
  23. Be sure the air pressure is okay also. The good thing about the Avon's are if you have "water on the knee" they will also cure that as well. Jerry
  24. Allan, Jane and I are just in shock. Jane and Debbie seem to really hit it off and Jane was looking forward to seeing her again this summer. I found a couple of pictures for you also. Jerry and Jane.
  25. No I can't take credit for this one but I have used one like that for years. The bike I sold to Rick Sarges46 had the switch still on it but I took my opener out of the faring to use on the new bike but never got around to installing it on the current bike. I didn't read through his discussion but it's very easy to do. You just need an extra opener and a monetary switch and you're in business. Jerry
