I went back through the posts but didn't see where anyone mentioned the squelch on the CB. Make sure the CB is off. I don't think there is a Mute on these radios but I do believe there is a automatic volume control, which I have never found, that maybe causing the problem. Like some others said, check all the connections including the antenna connections. Maybe there is a wire or antenna wire pinched somewhere. Intercom? I don't believe you fried the radio though. Keep looking, 1200 dollar radio may not be the cure and the dealer won't know for sure either, all they do is swap parts tell it works!!! BOO

I always tell my kids, I want Peace and Tranquility. Well I can always hope can't I? BOO

Yeah I see a guy around here with a set of those. I understand they go up and down when the bike reaches a certain speed. Seems like a good idea if you still want to ride on two wheels at speed. I ride with a guy who is 81 and he really needs to do something like that. BOO

A good old Alabama boy won a bass boat in a raffle drawing. He brought it home and his wife looks at him and says, "What are you gonna do with that. There ain't no water deep enough to float a boat within 100 miles of here." He says, "I won it and I'm a-gonna keep it." His brother came over to visit several days later. He sees the wife and asks where his brother is. She says, "He's out there in his bass boat", pointing to the field behind the house. The brother heads out behind the house and sees his brother in the middle of a big wheat field, sitting in a bass boat with a fishing rod in his hand.. He yells out to him, "What are you doin'?" His brother replies, "I'm fishin'. What does it look like I'm a doin'?" His brother yells, "It's people like you that give people from Alabama a bad name, makin' everybody think we're stupid. If I could swim, I'd come out there and whip your ass!"

Funny this just happen at the local boat ramp last Saturday. Someone said they thought it was a Ford Explorer. There is a trailer attached also. Nothing like fun at the ole Boat Launch. BOO

AND by the time your radar detector goes off it's to late to do anything about it. Makes people feel better to have one I guess. BOO

I agree. I have ridden the Dragon a few times and it's kind of neat but their are a lot of roads around there that are much more fun for me. I too like to rubber neck and look around and you can't really do that on the dragon no matter what speed you run. I'll run down the interstates as fast as anyone but when I get where I'm going I'm probably one of the slowest bikers around. Enjoy, BOO

Don, I see "Arkansas" is cleaned and looking happy. Great Dog! BOO

Most if not all Cell Phone providers can be no contract. I have Sprint service and never had a contract with them. If you buy your own phone and don't take one of their overpriced "Free" phones they will provide a month to month service to you. Admittedly they probably are more money monthly then the Walmart phones or Consumer Cellular service but they work most places. Oh the joy of living off the beaten track, BOO

I'm not to much into waving but I will return the wave if someone waves. I'm also not into all them different waves. Usually I won't take my left hand off the handlebar and kind of wave a modified peace sign wave. It's not that I am opposed to taking my hand off the handlebars, I'm just lazy. I remember around the local area in the early 70's we use to raise our left fist in the air kind of like the black power sign at the time. Must have been a local thing though. BOO

I had two sons that rode at one time or the other. They also both had crotch rockets at some point or another. The older boy now soon to be 40 hasn't ridden for years but the younger boy is 34 and still riding. He now has a 1100 Shadow. I have to tell you I really worried about them when they were out riding but they are both pretty level headed but the biggest scare for me was when the younger one started riding with the old guy (me) That made me more nervous then when he was out riding with his friends. We have put several thousand miles on together now so I'm getting a little more comfortable but it is a little nerve racking. Good Luck and Ride Safe. BOO

I'm afraid there are probably several of those kind of memorials around the country that are not being taken care of. We had one here in our village and the public works workers recently cleaned up the spot and the local Brownie Troop planted some flowers a couple of weekend ago. When I get a chance I will take some pictures and post on this thread. Thanks, BOO

Yeah I got one of those guys in my mirror but I try not to look there very often. Agree with Bill after 65 things start failing and falling off. BOO

Who had done 800 to 1000 miles without a lay over.
BOO replied to GolfVenture's topic in Watering Hole
4 or 5 years ago I ran Blairsville, Ga to Home, 810 miles and just slightly over 13 hours. 90 to 95 degs, took a couple of weeks to recover from the heat. When I was younger I did several 700 to 900 miles days with no problem. Think its a personal thing and the condition you are in, BOO -
Seems strange that the clutch is bad again after only a short time. Also usually the slipping starts in the higher gears (4th and 5th). If yours is actually slipping in the lower gears I wouldn't think it would even move in the higher gears. Don't have a solution, just my thoughts. BOO

I have a flap like that on my 01.. The lens were faded and I just got 4 lens and I'm pretty sure these are the ones I got. http://www.aftermarketcyclepartsnation.com/Drag-Specialties-BARON-TWIN-AND-BARON-MINI-TWIN-MARKER-LIGHTS-detail.htm?productId=7922788 I don't recognize the hitch. BOO

Stop signs are definitely better for traffic flow then lights. The town just south of me use to have a 6 way stop sign intersection right on a main highway. Everything seemed to work fine and traffic moved right along. They use to sent a cop to that intersection for afternoon rush hour traffic to direct traffic-- what a joke-- He should have just stayed away. In their ultimate wisdom they closed two of the streets to the intersection making it a four way intersection and installed lights. Now you just sit and wait. I suspect they spend thousands of dollars on engineering to screw up that intersection. BOO

I have never had a problem while traveling and I have travels many thousands of miles. What I carry is a phone number for my road side service insurance. On another note the 86 Goldwing I had came with a tire inflater that hooked up to the on board compressor, never used it though. You just got to dodge the nails in the highway and you will be fine. I agree, I don't know if they all do it or not but the one I had does but it wasn't enough for me to have to add oil between changes. Just gives the Harley guys something to rag on you about. BOO

I had water on the knee one time and it worked very well for that. Actually I think it's a very good additive but I don't use it near as much as a lot of you. Half a can at the end of the year is about it. I've never had the luck some of you have had. If the carbs are acting up I haft to take them apart and clean them. But if it works for you that'st great. BOO
