I was have this problem with my RSV but maybe not as bad. If I had the running lights on and turned the lights on bright it would blow the fuse. I put a much larger fuse in but later I put a relay on the running lights like I should have in the beginning. I was going on a ride one morning about 4 am and as I was going around a curve I flipped the lights to bright and guess what I was in the dark, little scary but the guy behind me in a pickup panicked and jambed his brakes. He thought I had just vanished. Jerry

Well I've ridden most of my life and had a bike of some sort for almost all my adult life, but I haven't grown up but when it comes the day I began to second guess riding a motorcycle I will quit in a heartbeat. I've wrecked, had several friends die on bikes and seen a few more go down for one reason or the other but I have never really given any thought to quiting. I've had 2 friends have sons to die on motorcycles, one was in a coma for 35 days. That probably brothered me more then any other wreck. Both my son's have ridden at one time or the other with rocket bikes but so far nothing serious. My youngest rides with me occasionally and I worry about him more then anything I have ever done just because I am with him. If he's out riding with someone else I never give it a second thought. Anyway a person has to do what you have to do. I know one thing though if I ever have a fear of riding, I'm done, never to ride again. The thing I do fear is getting to old to ride, what a bummer that will be. But not today and not tomorrow. Jerry

Bill, He was in Eureka Springs last year but for only a day or so with a friend riding a Kaw Vulcan I believe. Jerry

So sorry to hear this news. I don't think I had met Leslie but we will pray for her. Gary hang in there. My condolences to you Gary and your family. Jerry

This was the same guy that had a RSV for sale and someone from Indianapolis was going to fly up here and take a look at it to buy but in the meantime he had someone drop in and look at it and it was pretty beat up. I believe the salesman had said it was in excellent condition over the phone. Now remember I have CRS at times but I believe that's the way it went. Jerry

How Many VR Members does it take to change lihgtbulb ?
BOO replied to stardbog's topic in Watering Hole
Are we talking light bulbs or LED's and are there a difference? Maybe a LED is a light bulb? Jerry -
Bill, I kept thinking it was this weekend also but finally figured out it wasn't. If I had left this weekend I would have had to stay down there a whole week, hummm. I don't know what you do to get the bike ready but I just wash the bugs off the windshield and fill the tank with gas. Jerry

Just my opinions and experiences, probably worth less than 2 cents. Jerry

I'm not sure my comments are worth 2 cents..... Jerry

We are about done riding down here for the season, I'm not much of a cold weather rider but if we had a nice day on the weekend I'd be willing to give it a shot. I am planning on going to Memphis in a couple of weeks if the weather holds out. Weekend of the 27th. Jerry

I have been reading everything I can on the subject and there are a lot of articles on the internet about Proportioning valves. The guys who build the Hot Rod's use them a lot. I may be missing something but it doesn't seem like a big deal to link the brakes. You must have a master cylinder with enough volume and enough reserve brake fluid to supply the cylinder. After that it's just a matter of getting the proper amount of pressure to the front and rear brakes. It may take some experimenting to get it right but it don't look like a big engineering job to me. Of course finding the parts might be another story but I have a Machinist for a son. Rick Butler mentioned the system he was trying to do needed a block for one line in and two lines out, they been doing that on the rear of cars and pickups for years......but I don't know if it would be a direct connection, maybe the fittings are different. Just a dumb carpenter rambling here but I think it could be done. Cost? I don't know but what's your life worth? Jerry

Orrin, You posted about getting together sometime. We are only 103 miles apart, heck that is just a breakfast run. I'm sure Dan (Stardbog) would be up for a run like that. Let us know, Jerry

A friend of mine is looking for something but he is not on the INTERNET amongst other things. He's looking for one of the US maps that you can mark for States Visited. He wants one that has the little glass jewel glued in for the state visited. Something small enough to mount on his Goldwing. I guess he had one on another bike he owned but can't seem to find one for this one. I have searched the INTERNET but can't seem to find one. I have seen them on Motor-homes etc but can't seem to find one small enough for the bike. Thanks, Jerry

Yeah I change mine every spring. Usually 10,000 miles or less. They probably don't need changing but like he said they are cheap. I just use the standard plug. There are several things I change in the spring or winter that don't have to be changed but that's the time of year I have the most time to do it. Jerry

Hey Hey Hey knock it off the guys already got a big head. You guys keep it up and he'll have to have his helmets custom made. Actually I kind of like the guy myself. Jerry

Buy it and let us know how it works. I bought one, not this one, and it didn't work very well at all. Only paid 25 bucks for it though. Jerry

It's true for some small trailers like snowmobile trailers there is no plates and no title. Not sure how big it has to be to have a plate/title but I bought a Bobcat years ago in Wisconsin and it came with a trailer with no title AND no lights. Don't know how you will get it into Canada. Jerry

Our old Sony quit about a month ago and I have been looking at TV's every since. Still don't have one but getting closer I think. I sure have learned a lot more about TV's then I ever wanted to know and seems the more I learn the less I know. Not sure I really need a TV! Jerry

Had a 46" mounted on my bike but it cut the gas mileage to about 28 MPG so I told it off. Sure do miss the Satellite while traveling. Jerry:big-grin-emoticon:

I don't know why I ride either as many have said. I wonder when I am baking on the bike in 100 deg heat why I'm not in a nice Air Conditioned Cage. Pretty Stupid. I wonder when I am freezing on the bike in 30 deg cold why I'm not in a nice Heated Cage. Pretty Stupid. I wonder when I am riding in the rain, wind, storms, and tornado's why I'm not in a nice dry Cage. Pretty Stupid. I've been doing this for some 45 years. Pretty Stupid. I don't have a thoughts of quitting anytime soon. Pretty Stupid. Did I mention I like to ride? Why would a person buy a bike for $15,000.00 with no doors, no top and no hear or A/C when you could buy a real decent car with all those things for the same price? Jerry
