Bill you and Allan been out harassing the motorist again? Jerry

Sure is a strange rear end. Chain drive also. Did you notice the oil filter? No worries about shock leaks. I'm thinking it is way over priced but he got a bid just the same. Jerry

I think the wind noise makes you unable to hear more than without it. Although I have no wind noise I can here the radio just fine. Jerry

I have had several helmets through the years, didn't wear most of them to much except dirt riding. My wife talked me into wearing a helmet about 20 years ago and I could probably count the number of times I haven't wore the helmet on one hand. But that's another thread. Like someone said buy a good fitting helmet and a good helmet. $29.95 is not going to do it. Most helmet quality goes along with price except when you are talking about graphics. I have two helmets now, both Arai, like them a lot. They fit snug, don't bounce around on my head and are quiet. Had a Shoei before and wore it probably 5 years to long but I did like that helmet. The Arai's felt a little tight until I wore them a few times. I'm wondering if you can hear a lot of wind noise, are you buying a helmet that fits you properly? They have to be pretty snug to be useful. Look at the Nascar guys when they get out of the car after a race. Their helmet is tight, probably to tight for motorcycle riders but it is a safety issue. Good luck in your search. Jerry

I have a cute one. My grandson, age 5 is in kindergarten. They are learning the alphabet a few letters at a time and learning to print them. One night he says "papa I can write a sentence", really I said. He proceeded to print the following, D N Jerry True story.

Pros & Cons On Front Tire
BOO replied to yamahamer's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Slick tires equal more rubber on the road.:rotfl: Actually I usually run the tires until the cord shows and after I put new tires on I am amazed at how good the bike handles with the new tires. I think a lot of times the reason we think the brand we just put on is a much better tire is because we have used the old tire beyond it's usable life. You are probably right in changing the tires at the point you do and your ride is probably more consistent. Jerry -
It's always fun having a new ride. Lots of luck and have fun. Jerry

Nice bike, on that who cares where you are. Jerry

Brad, I think it's a liability thing. I wasn't aware of it until recently but the rental places won't rent you a trailer if you are driving certain types of vehicles. Some of the vehicles seem pretty substantial to me but of course it is a liability thing. Jerry

I happen to know the parts man for a local HD dealer and he had a funny story. Seems one of the mechanic was working on a new HD so he took it out back to give it a little test run, he ran across a manhole and flipped the bike, scratched it up pretty good. I bet that was one happy customer. Probably told him it was like that when it came in. LOL. I was laughing so hard I forgot to ask what they told the customer. Jerry

I wouldn't think 12 to 15 bucks would be to much for a custom bell. Jerry

I would be very interested in how the valve's work out for you. I have locked up the rear brake several times and it's pretty scary. I'll say one thing, when a person locks up the rear brake it's really their fault in they way they are braking. BUT like Don said the brakes are way to sensitive. Front brakes are great but the backs are bad. Jerry

Steve, Nice chatting with you on the phone and we will definately get together soon to tell sea stories. Jerry

I'm a five year Navy guy, on the CVS 15 USS Randolph and the CVA 59 USS Forrestal. I actually saw a wave break over the flight deck of the Randolph when we were in the edge of a Hurricane....about 1966 I'm thinking.........scary stuff..... Jerry

A friend and I use to fish the Salmon tournaments on Lake Michigan and we got in a few tight spots like that. Never got hurt though and caught a lot of fish. I noticed most of the people on the boats were not wearing PFD's. Jerry

State Police have been working our county most of the summer, just ask Stardbog, he was quite a few over the speed limit but the word is they have been giving 6 miles over but the county LEO's have been giving 10 for years. Bout any type of car and I have even seen Vette's out on the toll road. Jerry

I agree 100 per cent, I quit a 100 times maybe 500 times, tried everything. Finally I just quit but I had made up my mind to quit when all the cigarettes were gone in the pack I had at the time. The last cigarette was lite up three different times before it was gone. We were on our way to dive in some lead mines down by St Louis, after we got there we were invited to the Country Club for dinner and some adult beverages and I figured I was in trouble but I made it through the night and have never had another one. January 1980. Did I want more? You bet, off and on for several years but I made it through. It's tough, real tough but you can do it. I actually chewed gum, regular gum, which is another nasty habit but I finally quit that too. Good Luck, Jerry

Lake Geneva, Wisconsin is close to me and the parking meters are a big deal in the summer time BUT there is a sign that says "Maximum of 2 motorcycles per parking space". We usually put 2 bikes in a space if we are a group riding together but I have seen bikes parked as close as possible and probably 3 per stall and no one says anything. Taking up this guys spaces sounds like the thing to do, would even be worth expense. Jerry

Little over 800 miles in little over 14 hours a couple of years ago. To much for a 60 year old in near 100 deg weather. Jerry

I too have been thinking a lot about the accident since it happen and thinking about what could have happen. Of course no matter what the person should not have pulled out until they were 100 per cent sure the bike was turning but we are talking about an inexperienced driver and 16 years old. I could kind of see where she might have thought it was a turn signal, I said kind of. I have almost pulled out in front of bikes myself but luckily I saw them at the last moment and got stopped. I'm just trying to say it could happen to anyone, we are not all perfect unfortunately. I don't like the flashing head lights and I have actually been stopped by a county LEO and told to turn my lights down to dim when in Illinois they teach at the motorcycle classes that it is safer with the light on bright. We had an accident here a few years ago where a bike pulled out in front of another bike and the bike was knocked under a semi tractor....This was a friend of mines son. It's just a terrible tragedy no matter how you look at it. Jerry

No vibration here either, the mirrors are rather small but I am getting use to them. Maybe the carbs are out of sync? Jerry
