  1. They keep promising but I have seen no tires of the right sized as yet. Did find a Elite II for the front and have the III on the rear. Seems to work fine. Jerry
  2. Yeah you guys be careful over there. Looks dangerous. We are having snow again tonight, the weather guys says 6 to 10" in this area. Watch out Don here it comes. I saw on TV tonight that Madison, WI has had 92 inches snow this year and a average year they get about 45 inches. Global warming my Axx, Jerry
  3. Very good idea, you never know. The laptop I take along really has nothing on it I care about so I'm safe I guess. Now if I would just learn to back up the computers at home......... Jerry

    M & E

Hey Lowell, I have a solution to your problem I think. I bet you are stopping at night and sleeping, wasting all that good riding time in the sack. Heck thats probably another 500 miles you could be down the road. Jerry
  5. I was actually stopped in the county south of me 4 or 5 years ago for running with the headlight on high during the day. It was on one of the first gens I had. Could not convince the county cop that it was actually in the testing book that you should run on high during the day. Knew more then me of course. My second gen has the passing lights and I very rarely have them on at night, they are set just a little to high and I don't want to blind anyone. (To lazy to adjust them properly) But I do run them during the day all the time and of course they have separate switch. Jerry
  6. Yeah I too carry a laptop on the longer trips. Had my old Compaq Evo n800c on the 5,000 mile trip last summer with no problems. I rode in the trunk the whole time. Jerry
  7. Hardware stores, like Eck said ACE carries them up here. Almost all flea markets in Florida carry Stainless Steel, don't know what grade they are but they cheap and easily to polish. Jerry

    1st time

Grand daughters are the worst. I have my 2 year spoiled sooooo bad. She is soooooo rotten. I love her to death. I love them all but the girls are special. Congratulations!!!!!!! Jerry
  9. I can't tell if it's my voice......there are sooooooo many..... Jerry
  10. Now that's funny. I know you didn't post it as a joke but it just tickled my funny bone when I read it. I yell at myself all the time but never thought of doing it that way. Jerry
  11. Since we are talking airplanes these are pretty neat. The pictures have been around awhile but still worth looking at. http://www.richard-seaman.com/Aircraft/AirShows/Midland2007/Highlights/index.html Jerry
  12. I've had a E3 on the rear for some 18,000 miles now but the front was not available at the time when they first came out. I put a 491 Elite II on the front but I think they are not making that tire any more so I'm not sure what we are to do. I really like the E 3's though. Jerry
  13. I bet you could get it in the faring. I think there would be enough room to mount it above the headlight inside the faring. What kind of antenna are you going to mount? The bike doesn't make a very good ground plane but it will work. I had an antenna mounted on the rack of the trunk a few years ago, grounded the rack to the frame so it worked pretty good. Good Luck, Jerry W9FE
  14. When I take longer trips the wife usually flies (by airplanes for all you smart a$$e$) and then I pick her up at the airport. The same sort of things happen to me twice in the last few years. In Atlanta last year, like you I sat around on the bike, leaned against it and walked around a bit in the shade. Finally parked in the shade in a no parking area to try and keep cool. The cops was chasing everyone else out but not me, they would just walk by and and smile. Was probably there for 45 minutes. A few years ago in Springfield, Mo the same sort of thing happen but I had a soft cooler on the trunk and it was leaking water, the security guy came over because he thought I was leaking gasoline but I think just to let me know in case I hadn't noticed. So then he proceeded to stand and chat with me for about 30 minutes and every so often he would walk away to chase someone away. Pretty interesting, Jerry
  15. Yeah a 12" extenion with and an inch and a quarter hole saw will do the job very nice. I drilled mine out all the way from both ends, not really that loud but has a little bite. If you don't like the sound a new set of HD's are cheap. Good luck, Jerry
  16. Yep, Don has done a heck of a job and the site seems to attract the type of people you want to be associated with and get to know. Thanks for being here, Jerry
  17. My wife has been wanting armrests but I've been hesitant about buying them. It appears in the pictures at the site that the armrests are situated pretty far forward. Most of the time you would want your elbow to rest on the armrest. Is this the case with these armrest? Thanks, Jerry
  18. Thats great, good to hear you are doing so good. Behave. Jerry
  19. 73,700. Very neat, will be going back to that one. Jerry
  20. Rick, Thanks for the information. I really don't care for the diaphragm springs so I am definitely going to go with the pressure plate style. Don't care how pretty it is either, can't see it anyway. I didn't realize they were doubling up the diaphragm clutches. But then I have never been around bike drags much. Interesting. Thanks again, think I know what I'm going to buy now. Jerry

    new MP3 player

Yeah, that's what I have also. After reading the reports on the mp3 players this one sounded the best. I received an Apple for Christmas, never opened it up, sold it on Ebay and bought the Sony. Love it, only problem is there is not a lot of accessories for it like the Apple but I can download from many sources besides Itunes. Jerry
  22. Hey Gary that is great news, it is always nice to be in your own bed. Hope you continue to heal real fast. I have been thinking a lot about you and your wife. Good luck, Jerry
  23. Brad, There is a guy here that I ride with occasionally, he has an 01 RSV. It came with Bridgestones and he swears by them. Buys a new set every time he needs tires. Has white walls on them now. He swears by them and of course we swear at them. Like everything else I guess, somebody got to like them. Jerry
  24. When I showed up at Eureka Springs a couple of years ago I had a bag that would not open. The bags were stuffed full of clothes etc. Eck and I finally pried the lid up enough to see that there was a shoe against the lock. It was letting one side of the lock open but holding the other side tight. We finally got a broom handle in between the lid and the bag and after several tries the lock let loose. You must be patient. AND I had to fight Eck off the whole time because he kept wanting to use his grinder on the lock, that wore me out more then opening the bag. Good Luck, Jerry
  25. New Helmets!! Jerry
