This is my brother's property in Florida. It is very close to the Gulf (3 or 4 miles) and in very good condition. I know he would entertain offers. I can get you some more pictures if you are interested. I would suggest where ever you decide to go that you rent there for a few months first before you buy. http://www.alligatorpark.com/homesforsale.php?view=details&cat=2&id=1 BOO

I don't see no pictures of that hog... Just Yamaha in your gallery? BOO

I've fell asleep several times through the years but never have crashed. It sure wakes me up for a while. A small pit stop and I'm good to go. Usually happens after I have stopped for lunch. I do enjoy my afternoon naps. BOO

Dang that was a ways to get to a mechanic. Nice riding though. I grew up in Shoals, go back there 2 or 3 times a year. Nice riding over by the French Lick area. Glad you got the scoot looked at. BOO

Hell, I might just ride up for the EATS. BOO

They want $20,000 for that bike? BOO

How does No of Mileage impact the value of a bike?
BOO replied to GolfVenture's topic in Watering Hole
Well I have always believed that an old bike with low mileage is worse than a newer bike with a lot of miles-- to a point-- I would have no problem buying a 1st or 2nd generation bike with 100,000 miles of course for the right price. I think mileage does effect the price but not to much. The guy with the very low mileage bike thinks he will get a fortune for it but that's not always the case. I'm not sure there is an answer here or not. LOL BOO -
I have ridden those roads many times. Been on them twice this summer. I was raised in Shoals, left in 1967 but am back there a couple of times a year. That road from Shoals to French Lick is a great motorcycle road. BOO

My neighbor has this Trike for sale. http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=4288 BOO

There is a 1994 1500 wing for sale just across the street from me. Beautiful bike. White in color and the guy keeps it in immaculate condition. Think he is asking $14,000 for it. Might take a little less but I'm not sure. If you are interested and it's in your price range I'll try and get some pictures to you. I may have some pictures in my computer if I can find them. http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=4288 BOO

Glad to see you had a good trip and got to see so much of the country. Sorry we were not home when you called, would have loved to have dinner with you guys. Haven't see you for a while so we are going to have to try and get to the same meet somewhere along the way. BOO
-
We're home and Jane (HOO) said you are in deep dodo. Also said she gonna kick your A$$ when she see's you next time. We had a great time seeing all you guys and gals again. It was a hoot. BOO

Whether you go up past Jeff in Milwaukee or up I90 let me know when and we can get together somewhere. If you go up to Jeff's also let me know and I might just run up there. BOO

I agree, this went way beyond self defense. As was noted this guy was throwing lead all over the place, lucky he didn't hit a by stander. Some states if not most would have a problem with the shooter. Any thing the bad guys got they had coming though. BOO

I have Disabled mine and I now use the Kill switch to toggle my running/passing lights on and off through a relay. I have my lights adjusted slightly high so I can be seen in the daylight hours but they will blind drivers after dark so I need to control them. I believe having a kill switch is a waste anyway. I've been riding for over 50 years and have never had a need to use a kill switch on any of the junk I've owned. I do find this thread interesting to see all the procedures people go through to shut their bikes off etc. BOO

Sorry to hear you are still having trouble with your bike and I might add I'm not a big fan and just buying parts and replacing things without knowing if they are bad or not. I'm going to also give you another observation, 2 or 3 years ago when I met you in Asheville and you were having troubles with your bike I didn't think it was really running right after the work was done on it at the meet. After the Carb sync you got it didn't seem to me like the bike was idling like it should but it was better than when you came there. Also it seemed like the guys had a hard time syncing the Carbs. I don't know what all this means but like I said it is just an observation. Good luck with the bike, BOO

unopenable saddlebag lid?
BOO replied to yuckly's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Me too!! Few years ago in Eureka Springs, had the bag over packed and one of my extra shoes was jammed against the lock. ECK and I managed to pry up the top enough to get a broom stick in and move things around enough to get the lock to move. Took probably an hour or so though. Cutting a hole in the bag seems extreme to say the least. I've also heard of someone cutting/drilling the hinge pin out and getting it open that way. Now when I pack the bags I still pack them pretty tight but I make sure there is nothing real solid like boot soles and laptops against the lock. Also make sure no clothing is over the slot of the lock mechanism. I think this problem is pretty rare but something to think about. BOO -
Carbureation Proplems
BOO replied to DickL's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I know no one likes to take the Carbs apart but it sounds like that's what you should do. Take em apart and clean all the jet/ports and adjust the floats. You'll be happier in the long run. When you have to add choke it usually means you are running lean which can cause heat. Good Luck, BOO -
It's Hell to be Old ... OLD people have problems that you haven't even considered yet! An 85-year-old man was requested by his Doctor for a sperm count as part of his physical examination. The doctor gave the man a jar and said, 'Take this jar home and bring back a semen sample tomorrow.' The next day the 85-year-old man reappeared at the doctor's office and gave him the jar, which was as clean and empty as on the previous day. The doctor asked what happened and the man explained, 'Well, doc, it's like this -- first I tried with my right hand, but nothing. Then I tried with my left hand, but still nothing. 'Then I asked my wife for help. She tried with her right hand, then with her left, still nothing. She tried with her mouth, first with the teeth in, then with her teeth out, still nothing. 'We even called up Arleen, the lady next door and she tried too, first with both hands, then an armpit, and she even tried squeezin' it between her knees, but still nothing..' The doctor was shocked! 'You asked your neighbor?' The old man replied, 'Yep, none of us could get the jar open.'

"To this DAY, when I leave town, I ALWAYS turn off the water supply to my house." That is the cheapest insurance you can get. A person should do that when they are gone just for a day or so but I don't do it. More than two or three days and the water goes off. Heard to many horror stories about water leaks and seen several. On the first gen the radio/cassette unit pulls up and out of the dash. On the back of the unit it plugs into the dash with a connector with several pins. You need to clean those and put some dielectric on the pins and you should be fine. BOO

One coil for each cylinder I'm thinking. Sure check the plug and if it's getting fuel and no spark it should be wet with gas. If it's bone dry then it's probably a float/Carb problem of some sort. (read plugged) Good Luck, BOO
