It's just land, the house is not worth much unless you're into the old stuff. I certainly wouldn't want to live in that house. The land looks nice but way over priced it seems to me. Then again I don't have that kind of money anyway. Jerry

I would think a 10 to 15 minute ride would be long enough to know how the bike feels, rides etc. My local dealer told me to take as long as I wanted one time when I was test riding a bike, he called me as he was closing to find out where his bike was, I took it back the next day and bought it. But he knew me. That being said I would get real excited if someone took a ride on my bike for more than 10 to 15 minutes. Jerry

Looks like you guys are taking the back roads, I can see why you (ECK) are not leading. 81 turns, not enough windshield for that trip.:rotfl::rotfl: Jerry:big-grin-emoticon:

Trouble with which socket?
BOO replied to Ohedron42's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Yeah it does take one of the thinner walled sockets. Some of the cheaper ones won't fit in there. If you have the tool kit, the socket in there should work fine. Jerry -
I bet I too have tried to quit a thousand times. Finally decided I didn't have enough will power to do it. A friend of mine said "I'll bet you 500 bucks you can't quit smoking" No I says because I know I can't, he said "How about 600?" I says no, he said "how about 700?" Nope. I knew I couldn't do it so I didn't take the bet but by damn I did stop, cold turkey in Jan of 1980. I chewed a lot of gum which I also think is a nasty habit, so much I had sores in my mouth and began to carry my carpenters pencil around in my mouth all day like a cigarette. To this day I still chew up the ends of the pencils but I never smoked another cigarette. Good luck to all that are trying to quit and to those that have quit. It's the best decision you have ever made...... Jerry

I've run the 404's several times in my life and they are a pretty good tire, you won't probably get the mileage out of them you will some of the other tires. I'd buy the E's, I have one on the rear of my RSV right now and I will probably get close to 25000 miles out of it. Tires are kind a personal thing, I like the Dunlop's, some people don't. Jerry
-
And the question would be, How the heck are they making money? Jerry
-
Obviously there is no title. Jerry
-
I put an E3 on the rear a couple of years ago and now have 18,000 miles on it. Expect to run this year without replacing it. I usually put about 10,000 miles or more a year on a bike but don't expect to ride that much this year and I think the tire will make another 5,000. It has been a pretty good tire but I think it's a little hard but not slippery. Good Luck, Jerry

Ain't this a great site, these guys taking off their Sunday from watching TV and drinking beer to ride their bikes all the way over to Moose's house to work on his bike. Live is great and you guys are the best. Ahhhhh now I know there no Sprint car racing this weekend, heck I may just come over and observe... Have fun guys, Jerry

Very sorry to hear about your friend. I'm sure it would be hard to part with anything that you were given in a case like this. The Road King is a very nice bike, that would be a hard decision. Again I'm sorry to hear about your friend. Jerry

Lots of good replies here. Like they said be CAREFUL down by the river. There are some ramps that lead you down to the river front. DO NOT take them if they are damp. Wild ride thought I was going to take a dip in the river with the Venture. Scared the crap out of me. Now besides all the sites to see there is some wonderful food in that area, can't remember the names of the places but just be daring. Have fun, it's a great place. Jerry

Hard to say. I know the air is not making it through the muffler without some turbulence. Maybe that's the reason we don't have to rejet when we put the pipes on. Anyway I have another set of RK's jut in case I don't like how these sound. Jerry
-
Mine are. Jerry
-
I agree, their still there. I think if they were taken out the pipes would have a much different sound. I've thought about putting a slit in the baffle with a sawsall and then trying to cut it loose with a dremal tool and then twisting them out. But I haven't tried it yet. Any other ideas? Jerry

When you say no response at all, does that mean when you turn the key on does the headlights come on? Does the dash light up? There have been several suggestions but if you are completely dead then you must have either blown the main fuse or something going on with the switch. If it were the kill switch, the lights would still come on. The fuel pump wouldn't work and the starter would not engage. I agree about all the bad things you said about the weather in our area. If it's in gear you would still have lights etc. My money is on the ignition switch though. Jerry

Here's what I use for all drinks. And yes it works for coffee as well.

Absolutely, attention to what's going on around you and the Throttle, providing you have room to get away from the guy behind you. Jerry

It's sure an individuals choice. The tires I have on the BSW are so cracked no one will even ride close to me but they don't bother me, I ride them along about 60 mph. I usually ride on the rear tire until the tread is all gone but I wouldn't tell anyone else to do that. Jerry
