Gotta agree with Earl on this one. Was having clutch problems a few years ago and decided to rebuild slave. Ordered parts, received parts, tore slave apart and guess what the inside was pitted. Ordered slave, received slave, installed slave, no further problems. Good Luck, BOO

Yes you can buy just the stinger piece. Not sure where up in Canada but Radio Shack in the US use to have them. Maybe a truck stop also. If you cut the stinger to the original length it should be close but it should have a meter put on it and matched to the Radio. Good Luck, BOO

Appears you have to apply for their credit card. BOO

I have pretty much used oversize windshields on all the Ventures I've had. I prefer them to the standard size and I've never had a short one. You're right I cannot see over the windshield and that's fine for me, I always look through it even in the rain. If you keep it waxed you can see through it in the rain. The fog is another issue especially if the fog builds up on the windshield, then I have problems. I usually just stop until conditions change. If it's not to bad I reach over the windshield and try to keep it wiped clean. The wife really likes the oversized windshield but she's asleep most of the time anyway. BOO

wont hold a staright line down the road
BOO replied to OrlinEngh's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
That lower bushing in the frame swing arm causes a bike to "snake" down the road. Your bike is new enough that it should have a grease fitting there. Hope you find the problem, that is a little un-nerving. BOO -
Looks like you had a great turnout and the weather looks super too. BOO

Yelp that all I do and not to tight at that. Still sometimes I have to use the old screwdriver. BOO

I've owned several frame mounted fairing bikes and they are warmer in cold weather. I can't say I prefer either one over the other in windy conditions. Like the mirrors on the fixed fairing. BOO

ZIPLOC BAGS are male, because they hold everything in, but you can always see right through them. ... SHOES are male, because they are usually unpolished, with their tongues hanging out. PHOTOCOPIERS are female, because once turned off, they take a while to warm up. TIRES are male, because they go bald and are often over-inflated. HOT AIR BALLOONS are male, because to get them to go anywhere you have to light a fire under them and, of course, there's the hot air part. SPONGES are female, because they are soft, squeezable and retain water. THE SUBWAY is male, because it uses the same old lines to pick people up. AN HOURGLASS is female, because over time, the weight shifts to the bottom. HAMMERS are male, because they haven't evolved much over the last 5,000 years, but they are handy to have around. A REMOTE CONTROL is female Ha! You thought it would be "male". But consider this: it gives men pleasure, they'd be lost without it, and while they don't always know the right buttons to push, they keep on trying. BOO

I hope that works out for you but it sure sounds like it is something to do with the kill switch/ignition area unless a secondary problem has popped up. Good Luck, BOO

I've had an 84,86,89 and now the 01.... If something were to happen to the one I have I would buy another one in a heartbeat. My buddy Sarges46 found the 01 for me, went and picked it up 3 days before Christmas one year. If this one gets wrecked or whatever I would buy another 2nd Gen. BOO

That must have been a trick, dropping your bike!!!! BOO

Patching a rear or any MC tire
BOO replied to PGunn's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Like Muffin man I have plugged several tires through the years and never had a problem but I usually tell people if you can plug it and forget it, then plug it. If you ride down the road and worry about it then I would just buy a new tire. It's not worth the grief. The day before I was to leave on a 5,000 mile trip I checked the air in my tires and sure enough the rear tire had a leak and of course a nail. I just plugged it and went ahead on my trip. Checked the air daily and never had a problem. BOO -
l had Geico insurance for my bike's since about 1984. Never had a claim. A couple of years ago I was presented with a speeding ticket in Kentucky for going 18 over the speed limit. I was in the wife's car. Kind of worried about the wife's insurance but they just ignored the ticket but not Geico. My insurance went from just over $200.00 for property damage and liability to 560 something. I called but they didn't care I had been a good customer for years, pay it or not. I now have Insurance with Progressive for around 215 that has full coverage, towing, motel stay etc.

I don't know why but every once in a while my shipping address will get changed to my old house that I moved out of 9 years ago while using PayPal. Same with the phone number. I use PayPal quite a bit but I always check ALL the information before clicking "confirm". Good luck with your package. BOO

The 82 year old guy I ride with quite often does not wear a helmet if he don't have to. He has an old yellow helment with a leather liner and strap he carries around in the trunk. I don't believe it is DOT. He will also wear it when it is raining. BOO

Stock Pillow Seats?
BOO replied to Wayne McClain's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
They are more comfortable than the one you had but they are hot in the summer, they are still black vinyl. I ride with a lambs wool cover, works great. BOO- 22 replies
