I have never had one of these turn over and I've been using them for 3 or 4 years. I have used up to 24 oz bottles, cups of coffee, milk shakes and about anything else I find to put in there. There is a type that is very thin so maybe that's what you had. Been a great idea for just a 99 cent item. BOO

First time I saw this used was when I was over by EUSA1. What a good and cheap idea. BOO

Great pictures George.... not as good as Bobbi but good. What's with all the insulated clothing? What happen the temperature get below 80 degs? I love that area, I could move there in a heartbeat. Great food also. Little story... A few years ago I was in Savanna, Ga riding alone. I went down to the riverfront to look around and decided to go down one of the ramps to get a closer view of the shops/river. Problem was the cobblestones on the ramp were damp and slick. Started down the ramp slip sliding away, when I got near the bottom I decided the bike and I were going for a swim. As luck would have it I got enough traction to stop the bike before going in. One of the scariest moments I've had on a bike. Wish I could have been there with you guys, BOO

1984 bought with about 6500 miles and sold with 90 some thousand. 1886 bought with around 27,000 and sold with 90 some thousand. 1989 Don't remember 2001 bought with 19,000 and to date it has 76,000 on the clock. Never any major problems, a couple of clutches and stators along the way. BOO

News to me. I have a 2001 RSV and I bought some keys off Ebay for 5 bucks each and had them cut locally and they worked fine. Maybe the Midnight has somethings special but I haven't heard of it before. BOO

Probably nothing less than 50 degrees either, I tell you, some people. BOO

I was just whining to some of my buddies the other day that I was not putting very many miles on the RSV.....6,600 this past season. I'm usually in the 10 to 12,000 area. Maybe I need to go back to work, I seem to put many more miles when I was working..........NOT.. Heck I've been on trips longer than the miles I put on this last season. One thing though, my son has a 5 year old bike with less than 3,000 total miles on it. Most of that was riding with me. Like we say here in Chicago about our sport teams.......Maybe next year..... BOO

Sounds normal to me, well maybe not normal but at least it's the way the Venture sounds. Yeah about 65 is were mine is the worse, it also seems worse when it's really hot out. You'll get some ideas on ways to quiet it down but it is what it is. BOO

I've had a few of these in recent years, you need to stop and immediately go and restore your computer. If you start clicking on different windows and trying to go to another site to download something to fix it you will have more problems. No matter what it says about shutting down and restarting or this that and the other thing I just go and restore. Has worked every time so far.. BOO

Not a big deal, you can do it. Like he said, do a search and there is a post that will lead you through the process. Do the mod, you'll be fine for a while. Actually mine was doing that and I rode it for 5 or 6 thousand miles before fixing it. Good Luck, BOO -
Good for you, looks great. BOO

There was a time when the trip to Washington Island required a deck hand to ride the bike on and off the Ferry. I refused so I didn't go. Few years later I was again in that area and the rules had changed and I was able to ride my own bike on the Ferry. I could be mistaken but I believe I was last on, first off. I didn't have to tie down and I do agree, just a phone call will take care of all your questions. Rode other Ferries through the years with no problems. Good Luck, BOO

I do nothing, did I say it was smart? No buts that's what I do. I haven't had any problems so far. When I winterize I put the bike and the lawn tractor in the back of the garage and the snowblower in the front. Guess what happens in the spring. BOO

Lot of good info. I don't mine the interstates so that is always an option for me. But there are two questions here. Are you headed somewhere to ride(interstate) or are you riding to somewhere.(back roads). That's how I define my rides. So for your trip I would take the back roads and I don't know to much about Texas roads but I have a feeling they are mostly of the straight variety anyway. I don't take much with me in the way of tools, just the basics, actually the tool kit that came with the bike will do. Rain suit, change of clothes and whatever you need to stay overnight. Don't get to hyped up over planning and worrying about tools, just go and have a good time. By the way there are no roads I ride on my bike that are WORK! BOO

Pretty sure that is a trunk trim. At the time they also had lights that were fitted to that piece somehow. Nothing like some new chrome. BOO

So does everyone hate..............

Well I don't like them either but a guy I ride with every once in a while and he thinks they are great. Buys the white wall version. He has an 01 RSV with about 70K and I think he has had Bridgestones on that bike since new. BOO -
Yeah I had that happen to an 86 I had also, don't think it just that year though. Been so long ago I can't remember the exact part that was causing the problem but it is definitely a cool down problem. Mine would only leak as the engine was cooling down after a ride, believe it was an O ring though. I also had a bike that would leak real bad as it was warming up but that was the only time it leaked, don't remember fixing that one though. Sorry I can' tell you exactly what the problme is but it's a common problem and someone will jump in with the fix. BOO

Yep, we're all set and good to go. BOO

That info was posted recently but I don't recall the number. Think it was less than a quarter of the 8000 shown on the count. I think if you PM Freebird, he would probably give you an up to date answer. I see he is gone for the weekend though. BOO

GWRRA....thinking of joining, any thoughts on this group?
BOO replied to 1BigDog's topic in Watering Hole
(I'll try and make this short) One of the fellas I ride with belongs to the Goldwing deal. A bunch of us were riding out to Iowa to meet some guys for breakfast and one of the other Goldwing riders bike broke down. Alternator went bad. We sat under an overpass for a couple of hours trying to get a dealer to come get the broken bike to no avail. Finally the guy that belonged to GWRRA called them just to find out who would be sent if the member needed a tow. Turned out if you are riding along with a member and your bike breaks down they will tow your bike for free. I'm going to repeat that..... If you are riding along with a member of the GWRRA then you can have your bike towed for free. I have towing insurance/motel stay etc but I'm pretty sure it won't cover people riding with me. Just a little info. BOO -
Yeah, I don't see the link either. BOO

I think the HD saleman got that saying from the Venture rider that eat up his harley. I was going to say something else but I have a clean record on this form so I'll keep quiet. BOO
