  1. I don't know, looks like they are bringing more problems down on themselves. It's pretty neat that they can get that many together to protest something but I really don't agree with them. BOO
  2. Good pick. Never used it for camping and I see on the site they also refer you to Chain of Lakes State park. Also pretty nice place on the Fox River and a little more rural. BOO
  3. I would agree because I'm not into all the wild rides but if you want to ride I think Great America would be the place. You gonna set up a ride in the spring time? Or a breakfast on a Saturday? BOO
  4. Rick, That's pretty congested over there. Just 33 miles to my house straight west. There are a lot of good camping places over this way. Some good spots between and there but not sure about the immediate area. I can do some research if you like. I may go to the meet one day or so but that will be about it. BOO
  5. At one of the VTS meets one year the factory rep indicated that you should turn that valve on reserve and leave it there. Seems they cause a problem from time to time because the O ring sticks and after you turn it, it will leak. That's what I always did and just used the gas Gage so I didn't run out of gas. BOO
  6. Sometimes we just try to check and analyze to much. LOL I have never felt of the pod after riding but I would presume it would be rather warm, just because of how it works and the gears it has inside. Maybe someone else has more information but sounds like it's just fine to me. BOO
  7. This is not smartass it's just the facts, just the facts. Last time I ride in the fall I put the bike on the center stand in another garage. Usually sits there from sometime the first of November till the first of April. Battery will dead so I will need to charge that up and hopefully it will start. Good to go for the summer. Oh yeah I do change the engine oil, rear end oil and spark plugs sometime after the first ride. If I leave the bugs on it over the winter they freeze dry and fall off so I don't need to clean it. BOO
  8. I'd do the homemade thing, if that becomes a problem just give me a jingle I'm pretty sure I have a title for a home made trailer around here somewhere. The trailer is long gone. BOO
  9. Great thread!!!! Love the links also. I'm still in leather but my passenger is wearing Joe Rocket. I'm not sure I would wear this stuff in hot weather, think it's a mental thing. Might wear the jeans and shirt stuff though. Still very interesting. BOO
  10. I believe in using a helmet when riding. I also believe in buying a good helmet, not the plastic kind you know for 29.95 and I also change helmet every once in a while more like 6 or 7 years. I don't have much of a brain but it's about all I got going for me. BOO
  11. Obviously this guy don't know anything about the ventures. I would somehow find another mechanic. Like someone else said just post on this forum about syncing the carbs and someone will help you. I'm on my 4th venture and they all have averaged around 40 mpg. Actually after following the advice of Vgoose my current venture gets around 43/44 mpg. Good luck BOO
  12. I never heard of one doing that either but the carbs are pretty high and I would think if the stars crossed just right it might be possible. It would take two or three things going wrong to make it happen. BOO
  13. I don't have an answer for you but if you have it all the way up to answer it in your garage you ain't never gonna hear it going down the highway. BOO
  14. Whoa, that is way more information than I ever cared to know about air pressure. I guess about anything that happens to your tire they have a way out. Interesting. BOO
  15. Hey, that cult you are talking about is a bunch of old guys sitting around talking bikes and eating free hot dogs while you are out riding and having a good time. But mostly a sales gimmick. By the way my son has a 5 year old Honda with 3,000 miles on it so not riding is not only HD. In my personal opinion there are 4 kind of bikers, those that ride, those that talk about riding, those that ride from bar to bar and those that clean and shine. You can easily add others but that's what I see. Very rarely do people fit into more than one category. BOO
  16. A little salt never hurt anything. BOO
  17. Nice job and they look great. If I wasn't so damn lazy I would do that to my bike also. BOO

    Triumph

I now realize you guys are talking about the new ones and I was talking about the antiques. Thats what you get out of a 65 year old. DUH... BOO
  19. I try to change the plugs when the tank is low on fuel but if it's not I just go ahead and remove it, draining the tank takes longer than changing the plugs. It's kind of like fretting over splitting the faring, some people spend more time studying how to do it then just getting to it. Heck I've had to split the faring three times in one afternoon...... kept having parts left over, go figure... BOO

    Triumph

Yeah have ridden the Triumph and the BSA 3 cylinder bikes. Great fun, have a different feel (vibration) and have quite a bit of zip for a 750. I can't ride these bikes for to far, maybe 50 miles, to much vibration and the suspension is terrible but a fun bike. BOO
  21. I've had quite a bit of touble with FedEX in the past but we seem to have that resolved, we'll see I have a package on the way now with their servce. I do prefer UPS. BOO
  22. Rollers are faster... BOO
  23. Yeah, Yeah, you got to drain it. I decided to put mine on the motorcycle jack so I could get at it better but I didn't drain the crank case. Yeah makes a big mess all over the exhaust pipe and the floor. BOO
  24. I don't know about your state but there are several states that get real uptight about a company taking advantage of senior citizens. My brother in Florida had some troubles similar to what your neighbor is having. He called the Florida State Attorney Generals office and they called the Satellite TV company and forced them to take care of the problem and delete all the charges. My brother said the first question the Attorney Generals office ask him was his age, once he said it was 79 they said no problem. Seems there are some laws about tying to scam seniors at least in Florida. Funny note, the Satellite company sent my 79 year old brother a present for all the problems they caused....... a Skate Board.... I thought it was funny but the bro didn't. BOO
  25. Nice group you got together there. Alls I got to say is, Boomer...... who don't look anything I had imagined he would. And I don't mean that as good or bad.... just a statement.. Looks like you all had fun. BOO PS I've edited this posting twice and will probably still going to catch heck... oh well...
